Starts tomorrow at 9. Any fans around?

That house was used in another series, struggling to think what, but they hadn't staged the place as being as messy as in this.

Does anyone know what it was?

I think it was a family of 4, maybe mixed race. About 2 or 3 years ago.

I agree, I really wanted to Ruth in this series. Such a strong woman. Made me feel sad when Hannah said 'Don't be a lawyer, just be my Mum'

ChilliMayo · 03/03/2020 16:49

Was the house used in the drama about a surgeon/consultant accused of malpractice or something, and then the husband of the dead patient comes after him? I sort of recognise the garden.

CanIhelpyouatall · 03/03/2020 16:52

@ChilliMayo that sounds familiar, was Adrian Lester in it?

QueenOfTheAndals · 03/03/2020 18:15

Oh the one with him and Sophie Okonedo where she doesn't know he's been an undercover agent for years?

QueenOfTheAndals · 03/03/2020 18:16

Oh wait, that's a different show. I do recognise the one @ChilliMayo is talking about but can't remember the name

ChilliMayo · 03/03/2020 20:05

Yes, I think Adrian Lester was the surgeon. I can't recall the name of the series, it's blurred into the huge homogenous pile of tv rubbish which also includes Flesh and Blood - now I'd give that house the turn, although I'd have to give it a good clear out.

LizzieMacQueen · 03/03/2020 20:13

Yes @ChilliMayo John Simm was in it. Accused the surgeon of being drunk ?

LizzieMacQueen · 03/03/2020 20:14

Google tells me 'Trauma'. Was in 2018.

IntermittentParps · 04/03/2020 12:23

Well, I'm in a minority but I was and still am Team Christie Grin I just think he's really hot. Stephen Mangan looks like Droopy the dog and has spent this whole series sulking and stropping as far as I can tell. Christie has just always loved Hannah and is frustrated and hurt by the situation.
I wanted her to go away with him at the end.

AppleYumYum · 04/03/2020 12:36

Me too intermittant I was with Christie at the end thinking ok now you're on your own we can be together. Can't see him as a step Dad though, he didn't seem to have much interest in kids or her kids.

IntermittentParps · 04/03/2020 12:46

he didn't seem to have much interest in kids or her kids.

It might be more that she (understandably) didn't really try to involve him in her kids' lives.

CanIhelpyouatall · 04/03/2020 18:24

I didn't really like Hannah or Nathan in this series. The only time I saw any passion from Hannah was when she told the athletes where to go. I disagree with the comments about Christie being too good looking for her. I think Nicola Waller is beautiful, she does have a lovely smile but Hannah was very dour in this series, she looked like she had the weight of the world on her shoulders. I think she looks better with a warmer hair colour too.

ChicChicChicChiclana · 07/03/2020 09:13

I finished it last night. I think overall I preferred this series because some of the other characters became less one-dimensional, particularly the mother. I absolutely loved Anna Chancellor in this - she was hilarious!

But I was rolling my eyes and tutting myself silly over the totally hammy Moot Court scenes with the ridiculously sign-posted story parallels and gazillion knowing glances between Hannah and Christie. Who, incidentally I think is a bit of a cunt.

I'm tired of Nicola Walker's overdone acting style now. I almost wish there could be a cast change when it comes back for the inevitable third series.

MissEliza · 07/03/2020 16:33

Christie is very hot and having an accent which is very hard to work adds to it.

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/03/2020 16:52

I watched the first episode of series 1 the other day and Christie was really hot then. But I didn't find him nearly as attractive in the most recent series. I'd still prefer him to Nathan though!

ChicChicChicChiclana · 07/03/2020 17:06

Christie just shows himself to be needy in this series. And a bit of a loser tbh ... I mean who the hell still pines after the one who got away 20 years later? He needs to pull himself together. And as for shagging the Donna Air character ... sad and sleazy.

QueenOfTheAndals · 07/03/2020 17:42

I thought that was pretty out of character. He's a professional with years of experience - surely he would never shag a client?

BehindTheGreenDoor · 07/03/2020 21:33

Yes it was all a bit “Hannah rejects him so he loses his mind” - weak writing imo. I think Christie was the only character who didn’t develop in S2.

I love that Hannah isn’t a smooth lined blonde glossy bombshell and she has two hot men fighting for her. So bloody refreshing!

Although she shouldn’t cheat. It tears families apart.

Canklesforankles · 08/03/2020 17:55

I loved that Hannah and Ruth are middle aged and older women and smart, successful and sexual.

Not second to to youngsters. Great.

happilybemused · 08/03/2020 18:03

Completely agree. It was refreshing as a nearly 50 year old to see older women depicted as still having sex and being desirable. Rarely seen on film or TV anymore

Canklesforankles · 08/03/2020 18:04

And that they are flawed. Not just good. Not just bad.

ChicChicChicChiclana · 08/03/2020 19:23

Yeah but if only it could be a tiny bit believable though.

Janus · 09/03/2020 14:27

Just finished series 2. I watched the first series when it was on but can’t remember what Nathan did, some kind of affair?? I remember him being drunk and trying to kiss one of the sisters (can’t even remember which one!) but I seem to think there was something else too??
NW annoys me now, that stop/start talking is too much. Loved looking at her outfits each scene though!
