Starts tomorrow at 9. Any fans around?

OP posts:

Really good tv

Anyone else thought that one of the women was Lucy Davis (from the office)?

Dozer · 21/02/2020 20:35

No. Which woman?

It annoyed me how easily Hannah apparently persuaded the employee with the NDA to talk, and get others to talk. Seemed v unrealistic.

MarshaBradyo · 21/02/2020 20:38

Bring yes! I rewound and paused

MarshaBradyo · 21/02/2020 20:38

Because it really bugged me she looked so familiar

Bringringbring · 21/02/2020 21:03

-* Which woman?*

The one that looks like Lucy Davis from the office! Grin

MarshaBradyo · 21/02/2020 21:05

Dozer at the book club

AppleYumYum · 21/02/2020 21:06

I so thought it was her, I even stalked imdb to check the cast!

Oblomov20 · 21/02/2020 21:07

Her life was so perfect. But really it was totally miserable.

Mooserp · 21/02/2020 21:21

I don't find Nicola Walker convincing as a top lawyer. She's always looking scared and unsure of herself, and can't speak without odd pauses and nervous smiles.

I didn't find it sad at the end, I was glad that Nathan left her.

I think the woman you are referring to as Lucy Davis is Laura Aikman. She was in Liar and Waterloo Road (that I've seen her in)

ghostlycurtains · 21/02/2020 22:01

She was also in the recent gavin & Stacey as smithy's girlfriend!

Gwenhwyfar · 21/02/2020 23:55

"As with the first series Hannah and Nathan apparently had no childcare or domestic help and never seemed to have to do any after school parenting, or domestic work. Could just do as they wished before and after work."

The eldest child is a teenager and the younger sister, who happens to be an unemployed child minder, also babysat. Not sure what you're on about there!

MissEliza · 22/02/2020 00:09

My dcs are similar ages and my house looks like a bomb site most times despite me working part time. I don't believe anyone could do those kind of jobs without outside help.

Bringringbring · 22/02/2020 05:48

Wait - I’ve only seen up to episode 2 of series 2 and thought this was latest

Is it possible to binge entire series 2!!

happinessischocolate · 22/02/2020 06:46

Yes it's all on bbc Iplayer

happinessischocolate · 22/02/2020 06:50

Exactly, and what's to say they don't have a cleaner coming in during the day whilst they're all out. It's not exactly essential to plot to show conversations about the cleaner 😁

Bringringbring · 22/02/2020 07:12

They would have extensive help in RL
Cleaner couple of times a week
Gardener
Window cleaner etc etc

The programme makers just don’t cover it. Thankfully.

You don’t see them paying bills, buying clothes, going to the toilet - but they do

Mooserp · 22/02/2020 08:21

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has a job like that. I would imagine you work much longer hours. It looked like she started work at 9 and just left when she felt like it

ghostlycurtains · 22/02/2020 08:49

Tbh I like the way their house actually had shit everywhere, it still looked amazing but it looked lived in.

And the stark comparison to Christie's minimalist pad!

That bit where he saw her book was sooooo sad.

happilybemused · 22/02/2020 08:52

Leaving his wedding ring and keys. Brutal.

My DF was a family solicitor. He worked 9 till 5.30 would only be home late if he'd had to go to court in a different town/city. He occasionally had phone calls after hours if the divorce was going badly and his client needed advice, but he managed to keep work in work hours. If your secretary is scheduling you appointments correctly there's no need to go over your hours.

Hannah only seemed to have 2/3 cases at any time so she wasn't exactly busy 😂

Dozer · 22/02/2020 09:59

The eldest seemed to have a lot of responsibility for her siblings. The younger sister “babysat” once!

Two lawyers with DC of that age would have paid childcare.

Dozer · 22/02/2020 10:03

Obviously they don’t show the boring crap, and that it’s “slick” TV, but just a little nod to RL challenges would’ve been nice. V few people with those kinds of jobs, even if living within walking distance of work (rare in London) would have anywhere near as much leisure time.

MyNameIsJane · 23/02/2020 08:10

Loved the whole series and am now bereft that it is over.

QueenOfTheAndals · 23/02/2020 08:20

Hannah appeared to walk to work everyday in sky high heels!

ghostlycurtains · 23/02/2020 08:25

Ha I don't mind all the unrealistic parts, it was pretty fluffy really!
