I watched S1 the week before last, and S2 last week. Loved it!

I know what people mean when they say about Nicola Walker's speech, but just think that's the way she talks. Maybe a bit of an impediment perhaps, which only makes her more real imo. I thought she did a great job of displaying the raw human emotions when she was in turmoil.

Also love that she's almost 50 and cast as the object of the main men's desires/affections. Refreshing not to have a big age gap and have a much older man.

I think part of the reason she would have gone ahead with the wedding to Nathan would have been to escape the Defoe household and the responsibility she had there for her younger sisters.

So, do we think that even in 2020 it somehow seems more "OK" for men to have affairs? Are we hating on Hannah more because she had an affair of the heart as well as a physical one (whereas for Nathan it was just physical), or because she's a woman so we expect more of her?

Or maybe we're annoyed at her for messing Christie around so much?!

I think it’s worse because what she did went on for so long (even if there was a gap) and was still happening and was an emotional thing (she told Christie she loved them both) plus she made such a big deal of what Nathan did which just made her hypocritical. I also hated that she strung Christie along and blew hot and cold

BunnytheBee there’s a scene somewhere where she says to Christie something like - we decided we could do this, we could work together - and he says that he lied.

@BehindTheGreenDoor what? Christie lied about being able to be together? Tbh they both blew hot and cold all the time. In the beginning tho Hannah was definitely leading him on and then changing her mind and backing out every time they got close to touching or kissing.

I also thought it was a bit rubbish that she left her swimming costume at home when her alibi was swimming, and she was such a shit liar when Nathan questioned her.

@BunnytheBee I don’t remember that but it’s not just for him to say they can work together. They obviously couldn’t.

@tomovemykids I don’t think he blew hot and cold as much. He obviously wanted her and he still wanted her at the end after Nathan left her.

tomove No I think Christie said he lied when he said they could work together without becoming involved or something. I can’t remember whether it was this series or the previous one.

@BehindTheGreenDoor oh I've just understood what you meant now! Work together as in work together at Noble & Hale, not work together as in a couple sorry that was my confusion!

Bunny I agree. I think she was just trying to blame him when it was probably both at fault.

They were both too good for her

I started out preferring Christie but now love Nathan despite his indiscretion although that put me off him a bit obviously

To the pp who asked a few posts back - sorry I've only just seen the thread again - I'm pretty sure the school is Dulwich College.

Watched the last episode yesterday. Does Nathan figure out that the baby she aborted could either be his or Christies ?

Also, it does rather suit Nathan to act the victim, doesn't it ? Why, because her affair started earlier and went on longer and was therefore somehow worse ? So that somehow excuses his affair. Hmmm.....

Her affair went on for years and she was so aggrieved by his. Like he said, they all knew him, he came to their home, she said she loved him. He lied to her for years - their whole marriage. I think it is worse
