The new series is back next Monday on BBC2 at 10.00. Anyone else planning on watching?

Love this show! Also only watched the first one, but I may be tempted with more tonight. I agree that I want to see more of the actual parenting. I think Meg is a great addition as a character, but not sure the actress is the right fit for it. Love Kev’s comments about his wife. ‘She came down to see us one day! For lunch....’ and that age was ‘babysitting’ Grin

mnahmnah · 09/10/2019 18:13

*she. Not age.

Rockbird · 09/10/2019 18:43

I've become a school secretary since the first series so I'm going to model myself on Mrs LambGrin

Bluewavescrashing · 09/10/2019 18:46

Mrs Lamb is a legend!

RuffleCrow · 09/10/2019 19:02

I'm on S2 e2 and loving it so far. I feel like the characters are all moving away from archetypes and towards being more three dimensional. Love crazy crazy Meg and the way she put Alpha Mummy in her place.

The80sweregreat · 09/10/2019 20:20

Mrs lamb is funny!

Cocolapew · 09/10/2019 20:30

Meg is much better in the later ones.

WeWantSweet · 09/10/2019 20:35

I did enjoy Ep1 but had to suspend disbelief to do so, lol. Felt no particular urge to binge watch, but will watch.

BooseysMom · 09/10/2019 20:37

*I will be watching weekly as I don’t binge and think enjoy t more having to wait

Can we not have any spoilers for the series please*

I echo this as i too don't like bingeing on iplayer but would rather watch one prog a week to make it last..so yeah no spoilers please! Smile

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/10/2019 21:25

Scanned past the spoilers because I’ve only watched episode one so far. I agree that the new mum character was a bit too much. I loved series one because it was so true to life Smile

Also the single mum friend has has something done to her face so that distracted me.

Christ, me too. I said to my husband “Her face! What’s happened to her face?”

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 09/10/2019 23:53

Bit of an unexpected treat, Anthony Head popping up like that.

He just gets more gorgeous, doesn't he?

Quite fancy Kevin aswell Blush

TheVanguardSix · 09/10/2019 23:54

Oh it's excellent! I binge-watched the whole thing over two nights. Meg ends up being a really solid character as the series goes on. No spoilers though, promise.

Collision · 09/10/2019 23:59

I can’t believe the main character Julia is the scary chief of police person in Line of Duty......great actress.

Bluewavescrashing · 10/10/2019 04:29

@Collision which series of Line of Duty?

desperatehousewife21 · 10/10/2019 06:35

bluewavescrashing the latest series, 5 I think?

RuffleCrow · 10/10/2019 06:44

Actually i found Kevin almost fanciable this time around too, so i take back my earlier comment. Then again i now have a crush on a dad who's like a much fitter version of him. And yes Liz has had something done - lip fillers?

spiderlight · 10/10/2019 08:34

@Collision - she did an amazing horror mini-series called 'Midwinter of the Spirit' a few years back as well, and she's Beelzebub in 'Good Omens'. She's fab - very versatile.

The80sweregreat · 10/10/2019 08:58

I fancy Kevin and the actor can play horrible characters too. Nice to see AH too ; his a mumsnet favourite.
( mumsnet is mentioned so I think that the actresses are on here , or the writers .. ! 😉)

RuffleCrow · 10/10/2019 09:26

Yes the Linehans are both blatant MNers. I don't know if it's just me but i feel the show actually has more of a Norwich feel to it than a London one - even though i think it's officially set in Acton? I wonder if it's the subtle effect of their bringing up kids in Norfolk? We're certainly not short on #ShitShops or even women who miraculously hold down their own businesses in London whilst also somehow bringing up 5 kids here and having a wild social life at the same time. Grin

EachandEveryone · 10/10/2019 10:52

Its filmed in North London but i dont know where its supposed to be.

Has anyone seen this? www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p07gy83t 😄

spiderlight · 10/10/2019 11:24

@EachandEveryone - I watched that a couple of months ago after we'd had a bit of a sofa saga and loved it! :)

Bluewavescrashing · 10/10/2019 11:26

Ooh thanks, I did watch series 5 but the fact that the actress also played Julia completely passed me by! I may have to watch again (no hardship really).
