The new series is back next Monday on BBC2 at 10.00. Anyone else planning on watching?

So good still! Now do I keep the excitement for 1 episode a wk or bingeHmm

bibliomania · 08/10/2019 09:24

Slightly disappointed in the first episode because what I like about this series are the various minor parenting fails - I enjoyed the quick shot of the kitten heel school shoes - and they didn't feature much. I'm less interested in the whole mummy friends aspect.

SarahBeeney · 08/10/2019 09:27

I'm on episode 4,it's so funny.

The Letdown on Netflix is also brilliant if anyone hasn't seen it. There are 2 series.

WillowSummerSloth · 08/10/2019 10:45

I loved the 1st series but thought last night's episode was a bit ridiculous. Funny at times but I couldn't hugely relate to it which was the joy of the 1st series for me. I'll definitely keep watching though.

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 08/10/2019 10:50

Just watching the second episode. I have to willpower to watch weeklyGrin

Rollergirl11 · 08/10/2019 14:03

The 1st episode was completely ridiculous but there were still funny bits. I will watch it anyway as I loved the first series.

Julia is so rude though. The way she talks to people in that off-hand skittish way would be so irritating! Not sure if I’m going to binge-watch them all or not!

JoyceDivision · 08/10/2019 14:05

NE14 ABJ 😂

LenoVintura · 08/10/2019 14:27

I'm bingeing it. Love it because they're all so awful, no redeeming qualities whatsoever which is hilarious.

UrsulaPandress · 08/10/2019 20:11

Didn’t do it for me. Loved the first series but found this episode too much slapstick and not enough depth.

The80sweregreat · 08/10/2019 20:47

I just love Julia as she is a female Basil Fawlty! Episode two is a lot better and more like season 1.

Grey7841 · 08/10/2019 21:14

I found the new character a bit loud but as her husband is Anthony Head i can excuse her been in more episodes for him alone

Awrite · 08/10/2019 21:43

I love the new character. Love her.

Yy to Julia being Basil Faulty.

We all know a Kevin.

I'm 3 episodes in. Will watch the rest tomorrow.

Bluewavescrashing · 08/10/2019 21:46

Hashtag shit shop 😂

drivingtofrance · 08/10/2019 22:06

I'm on episode 3. One is not enough Smile

I like the new character too.

southeastdweller · 08/10/2019 23:09

I gave in and watched them all. Thankfully the other five episodes are quite different to the first which had too much focus on Meg, a character I don't get at all. Might be the actress though rather than the writing.

I've watched it all and thought it was ok. One thing niggling me though is that the theme seemed to be about balancing work and home, however, this wasn't touched upon with Liz.

I think they could have shown her changing over to UC and arguing with on the phone with DWP. Her child would only be entitled to 15 free hours per week as she doesn't work and would be expected to look soon. Or trying to sort out child maintenance. I know it's a comedy but think they missed a trick there.

Clawdy · 09/10/2019 08:48

The Meg character was OTT, and spoiled it a bit for me. The Amanda character is actually funnier, in a more realistic way.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 09/10/2019 09:48

I caved too- watched them all. Meg defo calms down. I think they had to bring in another character and tbh they did lack the "have it all" mum. I thought it was brilliant, second series are always hard but I think they did a brill job. Kevin is just hysterical.

EssentialHummus · 09/10/2019 10:06

I've only watched the first ep and found Meg too over the top - but it sounds like the focus shifts in later episodes, so will carry on with it. I think Anne is my favourite - very sincere and straight and then comes out with something from nowhere.

BooseysMom · 09/10/2019 10:23

Omg, the entire s2 series is on iplayer. That's my night sorted tomorrow grin

Yeay!! Grin

So glad i came across this thread as i'd forgotten there was a new series on the way. I loved the first series and Liz is a brilliant character. Diane Morgan is a very clever actress..Philomena Cunk is just hysterical! I can't wait to get time to watch the first episode.

Rollergirl11 · 09/10/2019 11:33

I also caved and watched them all! I’m a bit perplexed by the Meg character. Nobody could be so overbearing and OTT in real life. DH caught the tail-end of one episode (the one where they hire a cottage) and started watching the rest with me. He was irritated by Kevin’s character and says that there are no men like him in reality. But overall he found it very funny and wants to watch the first series (which I personally think is better). Can’t believe that IPlayer don’t have it available. 😭

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/10/2019 14:18

Loved it

I will be watching weekly as I don’t binge and think enjoy t more having to wait

Can we not have any spoilers for the series please

Yes I know it’s on iPlayer but hasn’t been shown on tv as such

Cocolapew · 09/10/2019 17:47

The first one wasn't great but the others are definitely better, I watched the Halloween one last night and it was really funny.

Awrite · 09/10/2019 17:57

Rollergirl - there are definitely Kevins in real life. They hover around women though, invading their space in a totally non-threatening way.

I'll be watching the final 3 episodes tonight.

RuffleCrow · 09/10/2019 18:01

Oh great! I'm a bit in love with Diane Morgan's character. Not so keen on the dippy dad character but hey.
