Grace's friends were awful.

I felt really sorry for Greg being thrown into that crowd of drunk lads. Of course he struggled. He didn’t know any of them, they were all talking shop. Some were being pissed twats. That would be awkward for anyone.

I couldn’t believe how rude Graces friends were to poor Greg.
Mike is very good looking but somehow i don’t feel he’s right for her. He comes across as a bit pleased with himself. He’s the only one who has any practical skills though.
Delighted Martin picked Hermione. She asked him questions about himself and seemed really genuine and kind.
I went off Laura Lee . Just trying far too hard to be coquettish. I don’t think she’d last long with the reality of the farm .

Do you think Grace’s mum works on the farm too as grace seems so on her own and looks like she can never sit still.

Yes I wondered that.Why is it all down to Grace to help her Dad? At her age she should be able to have a day off sometimes.

Grace should just save the money from a wedding and employ a relief milker and get out a bit. Otherwise she will just end up another unhappy farmer. I reckon the Scottish sheep farmer realised she wanted a farm hand and not a romance. No way would she have helped out on his farm , this was all about her need to help when her Dad retired.

The Royal Mail chap had a business degree and manages s team of fifty, you could see his disdain for the drunk gauche young farmers, I think he was very polite but the idea of being stuck with these immature people for life was clearly pretty ghastly for him. It was like sticking a bank manager in with a load of year 11s and expecting them to get on.

Laura Lee clearly had an agenda but Grace too just seems to want a live-in farm hand. The whole thing is more like a job interview than a chance to meet a romantic partner. There must be loads of young male farmers she could pair up with. How old is the Katy shepherdess lady? She should ditch the white lipstick though.

I wonder if Graces sister doesnt help out on the farm, she was with Grace growing through the letters and looked a similar age too

The problem with other young farmers is that they will want to work their own farms not hers. It is a conundrum but I do think she is a bit naive about marriage . I know many farmers whose partners do not work on the farm , one advantage financially is that all their eggs arenot in one basket but it does mean employing non family help on the farm , but they will have to do that to some extent if they have children. It also felt like the father was perhaps unwittingly putting a lot of pressure on her young shoulders

It looked like Katie only had a handful of love letters. She had to pick 6 (?) to meet but it only looked like she got that amount of letters anyway
