Finally got round to watching this, quite enjoying so far although I struggled with the accents initially.
However Tom Hardy who I usually like is driving me mad, he seems so hammy and channelling his Bronson character mated with the Krays a bit too much.
Does he get better?

Mosley's speech was terrifying.
I wish there were 10 episodes...I feel it's all a bit rushed and we aren't seeing enough of certain characters...Michael, Aberama for instance.
I absolutely love Arthur. His walk Grin

Goodness, The Shock was magnificent! So much happening, so many plates spinning, such great music. Justified waiting through one or two weaker episodes earlier on in this series.

It’s so satisfying. I could sit and gaze at Tommy, Arthur and Polly for ever.

Although Arthur seems to be ageing rapidly which is worrying. He looks so exhausted, poor man. I’m glad Linda isn’t dead - and the scene where they all attended to her seemed to exude pure love.

I still mourn Aberama Gold’s beautiful son; it’ll be interesting to see how things pan out if Aberama and Tommy’s interests conflict from now on - and I hope Aberam’s loss doesn’t presage the same for Polly ...

I've not enjoyed this season so much... interesting to see what happens next week... we know Mosley won't be killed!

HiHoToffee · 16/09/2019 13:09

Brilliant episode. Tommy showing his softer side and the light reflecting that.
Mosely's speech was terrifying, especially with all the recent political going ons.

Arthur is ageing and starting to look like one of the Chuckle brothers.

Only 1 episode left Shock

Yaflamingalah · 16/09/2019 14:17

Arthur is ageing and starting to look like one of the Chuckle brothers. Grin Grin

Last night’s episode was a masterpiece but I’m beginning to wonder if the unthinkable could happen; Barney the sniper misses and that’s the end of Tommy. Could they even have a sixth season of PB without Tommy?!?

QuaterMiss · 16/09/2019 14:39

Could they even have a sixth season of PB without Tommy?!?

It would be a fundamental change from epic (centred around one man) to soap. Everything would fall apart, narratively speaking. Just as you couldn’t really have Line of Duty without any of the three core characters!

Yaflamingalah · 16/09/2019 15:16

@QuaterMiss

Absolutely! No one would continue watching.

Samcro · 16/09/2019 15:25

i wasn't keen on last night. too political and sadly we know mosley doesn't die.
but then arthur got all arthur and saved the episode.

tommyshaircut · 16/09/2019 17:03

Thought the bit in the asylum was so tragic, so many badly shell shocked men would have ended up in places like that.

Blue7 · 16/09/2019 17:08

Could they even have a sixth season of PB without Tommy?!?

I couldn"t watch if Tommy wasn't it.

OtteryStCatchpole · 16/09/2019 21:24

I love that they mentioned Alfie. I really hope he's still alive!

Cannothtinkofaname · 17/09/2019 10:13

I see people mentioning Alfie. Can somebody remind me who he is please.
Thanks.

QuaterMiss · 17/09/2019 10:22

Alfie info here. (Wiki site.)

Cannothtinkofaname · 17/09/2019 10:55

Oh yes, I remember Alfie, just forgot that was his name!

Thanks for that QuaterMiss.

tommyshaircut · 22/09/2019 21:42

Alfie !!!!!!

OtteryStCatchpole · 22/09/2019 21:44

I'm so happy Alfie is back!

youngestisapsycho · 22/09/2019 21:44

It’s all going very slow....

EmAreSea · 22/09/2019 21:51

That little slip from Finn is gonna be the undoing of the whole thing isn't it...

youngestisapsycho · 22/09/2019 22:04

Yep exactly what I thought soon as he said it!

Yaflamingalah · 22/09/2019 22:07

So this seems to be the end of the Shelby’s

tommyshaircut · 22/09/2019 22:07

Michael and his plan B

youngestisapsycho · 22/09/2019 22:10

Ah Yes.... Michael!?

youngestisapsycho · 22/09/2019 22:11

Or that’s the red herring?!

pinksparkleunicorns · 22/09/2019 22:33

This whole season has left me very confused 😬 poor Aberama Gold. I wonder if poly now will kill the Billy Boy main man to avenge him...

Ikeameatballs · 22/09/2019 22:46

I guess we all knew that he wasn’t going to kill Moseley but we’ve really been left in the dark as to why it went wrong!

Suspects:
Michael
Finn’s slip up to the dodgy footballer
Alfie
Other government/political forces
