So happy Badison was moved near the start.

Morello’s baby and Red’s dementia was so sad but Doggett dying was just awful. I cried and then proper cried when Taystee saw her certificate for passing the exam Sad

The whole ICE shitty situation. Just awful.

I thought this series was absolutely amazing and made up for the last couple of series not being up to scratch.

I found I had to keep taking breaks because of the ICE storylines, if thats even remotely close to how badly people are treated then its terrifying. The plane scenes were just so scary, and the way the show then stopped following the characters to emphasise them disappearing, horrifying.

I loved Doggett and I also properly cried when she died, but Taystee has always been my favourite character and even though its sad she never got her justice, its good to see her character still try to do good. I liked the warden as she was really doing good work, and Fig and Caputo were amazing this series, I loved them, especially when they talked about Brexit and what I assume was Love Island.

Perfect ending for the show, shame they couldn't just cut out Piper and Alex and spend more time on better characters like Gloria, I was so happy with her ending.

And the scenes with the children in the court, just vile that this happens.

Still working my way through season one again and forgotten nearly all of it. Maria's just had her baby and then been sent straight back to prison.

The acting and writing definitely got better as the series went on as well. Suzanne completely changed from when she was "crazy eyes". I'd also completely forgotten about dans Russian Wife

Isadora2007 · 09/08/2019 16:00

I also found the series very depressing and political but I dont think that’s necessarily a bad thing if it educates some people especially those in the US who buy into the Trump Bullshit.
Did that dead guys body in the greenhouse ever get found?
And I’m so glad you guys have told us who that was in the kitchen- he was weirdly hot for pornstache though Blush

colourlessgreenidea · 09/08/2019 17:15

Did that dead guys body in the greenhouse ever get found?

I remembered about that the other day too - it was a really odd storyline Confused

colourlessgreenidea · 09/08/2019 17:18

Looks like it was found - so much about that storyline that I forgot

Yes I'm sure it did - they think the women who had very short white hair did it (as she confessed!) and sent her to the psych unit.

SallyCinnamon3009 · 09/08/2019 17:49

Didn't alex do it Cos it was someone who worked for the drug dealing gang posing as a guard. Then lolly got confused and took the blame and ended up back in Max?

HeyAssbutt · 09/08/2019 18:10

I'm coming up to that storyline. The guy attacks alex and Lolly comes in and kills him and then doesn't frieda help them bury him in the veg patch?

PorkHollywood · 09/08/2019 18:53

Yes, they chopped him up first.

minou123 · 09/08/2019 20:42

Fig and Caputo were amazing this series, I loved them, especially when they talked about Brexit and what I assume was Love Island.

Yes, Fig was obsessed with love island. She was watching season 4. It was brilliant. I love that she is a complex character, yet enjoys watching trash tv.

SallyCinnamon3009 · 10/08/2019 20:31

So rewatching season one and Mariza mentions she has a daughter! I'd totally forgotten that!

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 10/08/2019 20:50

They didn't mention the daughter in season 7. Strange.

HeyAssbutt · 10/08/2019 21:38

I was thinking that too. I watched the mothers day episode where they let all the kids come in and shes holding her then.

Also on the pornstache knowing about the baby not being his. His mum tells him but he doesn't believe her so she tells daya she'll still adopt her

SallyCinnamon3009 · 10/08/2019 23:12

This is what I thought there's a couple of things like this. It's like they did so many backstories for the characters the writers got confused by the end

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 11/08/2019 09:29

The Morello backstory was all over the place.

I thought she was in for stalking but they showed her involved in a car crash in the last season.

Soubriquet · 11/08/2019 09:38

Don’t forget she had problems with fraud too

Ordering from catalogues, claiming they hadn’t arrived and requesting a refund

SallyCinnamon3009 · 11/08/2019 09:46

I thought morello was in for fraud and stalking. I took it that the car crash happened before that but that no one knew she caused it. She then became a complete fantasist after the car crash which lead to the stalking of Christopher. Anyone remember why Poussey was in?

BlackCatSleeping · 11/08/2019 10:12

Poussey was for drugs possession. She had that really amazing night and met loads of interesting people, but o don’t think they ever showed how it ended up with her being arrested.

SallyCinnamon3009 · 11/08/2019 10:24

Oh yeah I remember that but just didn't realise that's why she went to prison. Definitely one of my favourites along with Taystee, Nicky and Pensatucky

BlackCatSleeping · 11/08/2019 10:37

Actually checking the Wiki page, it says that that night was the reason Poussey moved to New York. They never explained how she was arrested. She was a great character. I loved her.

Just finished the series - so many heartbreaking moments! I was just really relieved that Taystee lived and Gloria got to go home. Red's dementia was devastating, but I'm not sure how realistic it was? It seemed to come on very fast - at first she was just getting a bit confused or lost, and then she seemed to be in an almost permanent state of not knowing who anyone is, and speaking Russian. I know they said it was speeded up a bit because she was in SHU, but still seemed very fast.

Also, what did everyone think of the #MeToo thing with Caputo? Did he deserve it? I thought it was totally unfair and Fischer didn't seem to have any issues at the time, she was very friendly with him. Although it hadn't occurred to me before that he may have fired her for not returning his feelings.

So pleased that he and Fig got together!

Oh and I hadn't realised Fig lied about wanting an abortion to get the pill! I thought she was v depressed after what she'd seen and genuinely wanted an abortion - so thank you for explaining!

HeyAssbutt · 11/08/2019 11:06

I was thinking about the Fischer metoo thing as well. I've just watched it. Caputo showed interest in her and was nice to her but didn't really blatantly say what he felt. She said then that she didn't think it was fair to do the shot quota and had a rant at him. He was in a bad mood so he fired her. It might have been because she didn't fancy him but he never implied that so the metoo thing was a bit much

colourlessgreenidea · 11/08/2019 11:33

The #metoo storyline felt very heavy-handed and seems like it was there just because they were ticking all of the ‘zeitgeist’ boxes, just like the ludicrously clunky mention of Brexit.

If anyone was a more ‘realistic’ perpetrator of harassment, surely Healy was more plausible? He crossed a number of lines with inmates, under the guise of being caring, I felt.

Banjodancer · 11/08/2019 11:54

I wondered if Fig actually lost her shot at ivf over the abortion pill - because she couldn't very well get a pill on Monday and then go ahead with the implantation on Friday.

Walney · 11/08/2019 12:46

I assumed she did and that's why they were adopting instead.
