I've watched it all. I enjoyed it. First few episodes were definitely slow. I think this series was actually better than the first.

I really liked it. I binged watched both series as I've only just come across it.

I should imagine there will be a third so look forward to that.

It was a shame the original Gael didn't come back as I felt the new one had an odd accent.

Thanks so much @SoonerthanIthought I realise that the policeman was trying to bring down Gail, but how was he connected to Evan? Or did he just seem Evan out when he was in jail?

@midsomermurderess, I wouldn't disagree that it went over my head, although I did enjoy it. Please do feel free to fill in the blanks though as I'd like to enjoy it even more!

Found it very annoying that the Gail actress was switched - she was great as Mrs Baptiste but shit as an Irish baddy as she was nowhere near sinister enough & accent was quite ropey. I really like the actress from series 1 so I wonder why she didn't come back?

Why is STEVE still working for her - I thought he paid his debt off last series - it’s been 18mths

Assume he doesn’t want to see his mum due to her affair and dad not being dad

I think new Gael actress was trying too hard to impersonate the old one - the previous one fitted her accent and the “sexy” vibe - blonde, curvaceous etc. Whereas on new Gael the big blonde hair looked daft as she was so slight. I’ve seen new Gael in other things and she’s normally good!

I have loved both series, but my God the music is so old fashioned!

Enjoyed series 1 but switched off after 20 minutes os series 2, I don't like any of the characters, it's a bit 'try too hard'.

I think I prefer this series. On episode 3 and one hour later am still chuckling about Evan's Mum maligning Faith - the perfectly observed Welsh mother!

soonerthanithought didn't Williams plant evidence to try and frame Eve? She took an earring from Eva's house and left it somewhere. There was other corrupt stuff but can't remember now.

Surely a jury wouldn't find someone guilty with such a lack of evidence and the failure of the police to investigate and other lines of enquiry? I think it was the son anyway.

My DH is not watching this although he is sitting in the same room. Every now and again he looks up and laughs at the acting, her face when she over eggs the pudding, the boxing and even the theme tune. He likes the castle at the end of her garden though.

I find it compelling. Not for the story but just for the over the top ness of it all.

Evan can't act for toffee either.

I think if the box set is up it is fair play tbh- it's normal for people to binge all the episodes if they are up and not watch a week apart. Was the same with Killing Eve.

Blondeshavemorefun I'm not finding Steve as hot this season. Think he's put a bit of weight on and hasn't got as much facial hair and he looks a lot older. I also agree about the wine drinking. Not sure if I'd be happy to come home to find my mate looking after my kids and knocking the wine back. One glass fair enough but then she poured another big one. I don't even have kids yet I find it a bit much.

I used to massively fancy the guy who plays Steve when he was in Stella. He used to do this slow smile thing...

In this, not at all. He has put on weight, looks rough. Might be the character he is playing. That rank jacket not helping.

Those faces Faith pulled when she was in the loo having a go at the blonde lawyer were a joy to behold. A masterclass in overacting! She is one of those people who are ugly beautiful - attractive in one shot, not attractive in the next.

The actress who plays her was on The One Show recently. She seems nice, normal, not at all OTT.

Watching but confused....what’s the story with Evan and Gail Reardon? It is an ongoing affair? What is he promising to the police guy about her...

So glad I'm not alone in being confused by it all! I went back and watched the last episode of s1 to try and refresh my memory before starting s2 but there is still so much I don't remember or doesn't make sense to me.
