Do we need this or is there another one already started?

I only just caught up with the second episode of the new season and had been avoiding the last thread for a bit so as not to see spoilers and it is now full!

Ignore me if there is a new thread already on the go. If not feel free to use this one mate.

Also worried for handsome beardy Steve, I'm worried he's going to get bumped off

EllebellyBeeblebrox · 12/04/2019 19:04

If Hastings is the big bad guy I will weep angry tears. And never watch tv again. I think my favourite series was 3, the Danny Waldron character was brilliant, and the ending was awesome.

Nowthenforever2019 · 12/04/2019 19:21

S3 for me was the best too. That finale was 💯💯💯

WhoWants2Know · 12/04/2019 20:08

But equally, S3 makes me miss Dot. I know he was bent, but still my favourite

SavageBeauty73 · 12/04/2019 20:11

Breaking news. Dot is alive. He's undercover as a Scottish country singer in Wild Rose 😉

EllebellyBeeblebrox · 12/04/2019 20:35

I fancy Dot. Something about his accent and his height I think.

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 12/04/2019 20:38

Dot was a great character, and I think the Dot/Nige/Gates conbo was great. I didn’t like Waldron at all.

KittyWindbag · 12/04/2019 20:46

I fancy dot too Blush I also have always harboured a crush on Daniel Mays. I guess I like very tall lanky people.

UCOinanOCG · 12/04/2019 21:32

No, no no, you cannot fancy Dot. He looks like my old physics teacher who stank of fags and coffee and was really horrible.

I’m adding Les Hargreaves into the mix.

H for Hargreaves.

Calzone · 12/04/2019 22:46

H????

Line of Duty part 2.
kamikazeshady · 12/04/2019 23:03

Had a huuuuuge crush on dot too 😂😂😂

sukiandthekettle · 13/04/2019 05:15

Ok fellow officers - 45.02 in (out of 57:46) - pause here. This is the end of the scene with Ted looking at his divorce/investment paperwork - he's sitting on the bed, isn't the computer screen in the foreground on the webpage for the online chat that supposedly "H" was using to communicate with Corbett?? And as you watch a new message (too blurred to see detail) pops up!!

Nowthenforever2019 · 13/04/2019 05:36

Yes, i mention that above. Its too obvious and not very line of duty. The writers are trying to hard to set Hastings up in our mind. Which they wouldn't do if it was actually him.

sukiandthekettle · 13/04/2019 05:51

So you did @Nowthenforever2019 oops, thought I'd made a breakthrough. I clearly wouldn't do well in AC12 - just call me Jamie D. (NOT JAMES!)

Nowthenforever2019 · 13/04/2019 05:56

Haha, I don't think I meant that to sound as harsh as it came out 😂 but yeah, I agree I saw it too. It seemed really lazy from Jed M so it annoyed me when I saw it

WhoWants2Know · 13/04/2019 06:15

If H is a name, then definitely Hargreaves. But equally it could be something like shortened rhyming slang or a person who eats a shit ton of Haribo or who once made an epic heroin bust. (Still looking at Hargreaves there).

Nowthenforever2019 · 13/04/2019 06:16

Is hargreaves senior enough to be H?

Mehmehmeh19 · 13/04/2019 06:41

I also fancy Dot, he could make me a chilli any day

diddl · 13/04/2019 08:13

Oh yes the message on the screen-was so obvious even I picked it up!!

Do we know how long the corruption has supposed to have been going on with H at the top of it all?

Dot is supposed to have been corrupt since he joined so some 20+ years?
Is hargreaves also too obvious?

The actor who plays Hargreaves is more than 10yrs older than the actor who played Dot, so could always have been senior to him?

sukiandthekettle · 13/04/2019 08:36

Could it be Ted's (nearly ex) wife? She's a Hastings too... We know very little about her professional background... and he still loves her... she could be the only person that would make him sway from his very strict moral code (if he's protecting her?) Would be totally out of the blue but they still have 4 eps...!

sukiandthekettle · 13/04/2019 08:58

OR... Dot's blinks were slow (dying n all) so he was actually blinking for "G" - if so Gill the shady lawyer (who tried unsuccessfully to get in Ted's pants) could fit the bill... Gonna stop now and try to actually engage with my family until Sunday's ep 😬

Piggywaspushed · 13/04/2019 11:53

He's undercover as a Scottish country singer in Wild Rose He IS??

Is ANYONE in Wild Rose actually Scottish???

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 13/04/2019 12:18

sukiandthekettle I thought that too, but again I think it's a red herring (as with the phonecall we saw Hastings making/taking in episode 1).

My money has been on Hargreaves for a goodly while now. Hastings wouldn't have initial intel about other teams' ops to inform any OCGs, only once AC-12 starts to investigate them.

notaflyingmonkey · 13/04/2019 13:14

Can someone explain the bit about the ex policeman arriving to talk about the property investment in Ireland? When Hastings says give me a minute, and then it moved to another scene - was that a flashback? I thought it was dodgy, because unheard of.
