Do we need this or is there another one already started?

I only just caught up with the second episode of the new season and had been avoiding the last thread for a bit so as not to see spoilers and it is now full!

Ignore me if there is a new thread already on the go. If not feel free to use this one mate.

Andrea Irvine is 52/53 according to the Irish Times.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 22/04/2019 13:28

Someone above mentioned Terry's flat being B.
Did anyone notice how the camera lingered on the letter B for a few seconds? Similar to how it did on flat 59 (which was really flat 56) in series 1?
So as pp commented is 'H' a place or is 'H' really just a code name?

TheweewitchRoz · 22/04/2019 13:30

To be clear, I also hated the throat cutting scene. Happy for others to disagree with me but I found the whole end scene gratuitous and unnecessary with the women and the murder.

NotMyPuppy · 22/04/2019 13:35

Respectfully, sex trafficking is one of the most common distributions of OCGs. It would be offensive to be pretend it didn’t exist. Someone made a point earlier about the rape of women being used for viewers enjoyment. I have to strongly take issue with this. At no point was there any gratuitous visuals peering over bodies. The viewer was compelled to feel the distress and fear of those poor women. There was nothing lingering or distasteful. The subject matter is appalling because it’s the truth. The tv show is in no way sensationalising the issue. There have certainly been popular shows in the past that have been tawdry in their exploitative use of the female in threatening circumstances but really this is not THAT

I agree. I thought it was distressing but not gratuitous at all. It was also relevant to the plot as it had to be awful for John to break cover.

The throat slitting is graphic but LOD always has been a tough watch - remember the thumb torture in series 1?

UCOinanOCG · 22/04/2019 13:36

Will I make a new thread soon?

"and the camera keeps lingering on her" agreed! It's very obvious that Tatleen is not an average minion. Dh said to me last night "she seems to be doing all the police work single handed!".

Arnott is in severe danger now isn't he? Now that Lise and the others have seen his photo.

OneofPansPeople · 22/04/2019 13:40

Off on a tangent but I just looked up Polly Walker (bungalow Gill) by heck she was flipping gorgeous in her younger days.
Not that she's not nice now, but you know what I mean.

MillyMollyMandie · 22/04/2019 13:44

Could Corbett have been related to Ted and his wife given the adoption that’s come to light. I wonder what Roisins maiden name was?

MillyMollyMandie · 22/04/2019 13:48

The scene with the young women was just how my Easter European daughters in law and there friends looked when they arrived to take up new jobs where we live. Highly educated, well presented, smart, articulate, just lovely young women. I shudder to think of how it could have gone wrong for them if they’d fallen foul of traffickers.

TedsFederationRep · 22/04/2019 13:49

Because they will be wondering what else Corbett has told Steve. Such as giving him Lise's burner number. When is Steve going to use it to track her? Surely, it's got to happen.

Also, didn't Terry say that his memory was bad, so bad, that that was why he always took photos? Lise and Ryan only looked at a few. Wonder how many other useful photos Terry has on his phone Hmm?

TedsFederationRep · 22/04/2019 13:53

UCOinanOCG, I'd say yes, definately definitely! At this rate, the thread will be full before the end of the day. Think of it as a public service Smile

UCOinanOCG · 22/04/2019 14:01

Ok Ma'am. Will get right on to it.

I think the flat scene last night was significant, particularly showing us the body in the freezer again, it seemed like a contrived way to remind us of it. I think this will be important in the next two episodes.

MissLadyM · 22/04/2019 14:15

I think I'm going to have a wee binge of all the series before Sunday, make no mistake fella!

Katastrophy · 22/04/2019 14:16

I think Kate is also up to something - legal I mean

diddl · 22/04/2019 14:18

"I think I'm going to have a wee binge of all the series before Sunday, make no mistake fella!

Perhaps you could do a synopsis so that we can see how it's all tying in?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 22/04/2019 14:26

Has anyone ascertained whether the guy Hastings visited in prison has been in a previous series?

ElspethFlashman · 22/04/2019 14:28

Polly Walker was in "Rome" and by God she was hot as hell. Lots of sexy times.

diddl · 22/04/2019 14:48

"Has anyone ascertained whether the guy Hastings visited in prison has been in a previous series?"

Don't think so.

Lee Banks played by Alastair Natkiel

CaptainMyCaptain · 22/04/2019 15:08

Lees Banks was arrested in Series 2.

SinkGirl · 22/04/2019 15:08

Can’t read recent posts as can’t watch episode 4 til tonight, but promised I’d post again after finishing S2.

Dryden got a suspended sentence and resigned.

Carly Kirk is shown watching a ferry go past. The text says her whereabouts are unknown.

Prasad is shown being interviewed by Dot and Kate, and it says he’s helping them investigate corruption in Vice.

Hargreaves is continuing to investigate who ordered the ambush - all suspects are known criminal associates.

Two things caught my attention;

  1. it shows Nigel Morton and says that he’s still a serving police officer and he can retire in a year with full disability pension. It shows a guy handing him an envelope full of cash - is this just to demonstrate that he’s bent? Seems like a big neon arrow pointing at Morton

  2. In Denton’s flashback to the ambush, when she turns off the road to avoid the handover, Hunter pulls off his hood and says “what’s going on?” and Akers says she doesn’t know. And I realised that we don’t know what Hunter thinks is going on when he’s being moved right? Why does turning off the road surprise him? Or, since this is Denton’s flashback, is this just her assuming what happened in the car so we don’t actually know it was Hunter in there?

CaptainMyCaptain · 22/04/2019 15:09

Lee.

diddl · 22/04/2019 15:10

"Lees Banks was arrested in Series 2."

Oh, sorry, thought that he hadn't been in this before this series.
