I'm just marking my place having read back 3 pages! (good job it's a bank holiday and I've nothing better to do).
Agree, this series is sorely lacking the interview scenes.
I had also hoped Ryan had turned over a new leaf after the intervention by the conscientious Asian police constable in S1. So did we actually see him slit Maneet's throat or was whoever did that in a balaclava?
I think it ALL ties back to the initial cover up in S1 episode 1 when the innocent man was shot due to the broken door number.
Most interesting comment in last 3 pages: Ryan's social worker's name was Jane Hargreaves - excellent spot!
Agree with Hepzibar that the scene of Corbett's wife reading bed time stories to the little girls just after his murder was mawkish, milking it and just really manipulative and annoying Jed! Come on, I thought you were better than this.
I also noticed the different Terry and that was really confusing. I'm sure they could have written in an explanation so why didn't they?
DH and I couldn't work out if Ted had been given the cash by Moffatt?
(ie was it definitely the same envelope M had handed to him?).
When was Ann Marie mentioned - who is she?
In an earlier series Ted talked (I think to Arnott) about being in a situation in the RUC when he survived and someone else (his partner/a colleague) didn't. So I'm guessing that was John Corbett's father. Dates would be about right. And both of his parents dying before he was 10 - that's a terrible history and maybe both of them were terrorists or RUC but in some way involved in the troubles. Whatever, there is definitely personal history between Ted and Corbett because Ted could not wait to get him off the scene (attacking Roisin aside).
The cause of R wanting to divorce Ted has not been fully explained other than him losing some money on a property deal. I also want to know more about Roisin's new man. I think she is a pivotal character in the story. Ted's devotion to her goes beyond someone who doesn't like the idea of divorce because he's Catholic.
Can anyone explain in more detail the scene where Ted went on the prison visit last night? I also wondered (agree with a pp) who was driving him back from that? I hadn't been aware that he usually used a driver.
Whether Ted is or is not corrupt, I'm quite annoyed (although still addicted). Either Jed is leading us up the garden path and not at all subtly, or Ted is heavily involved in organised crime and is a baddun. The most boring twist of all.
