New Drama starring Richard Gere.

This better be good!

I think the gist of it is that Father is dodgy and Cayden was wrapped up tight in all the dealings, phone tapping etc. Now due to his stroke he is going to expose his father and father will probably put a hit out on him to silence him.

Calzone · 01/04/2019 22:14

Sarah Lancashire looks awful in this.

Not really sure what the point of her is......

.....bet she loved telling people she was in a show with The Gere.....🤣

ItstheGFAStupid · 01/04/2019 22:51

SL does look strange. Is it the weird necklines making her look as if she has no neck? Has she had facial implants?

beanaseireann · 01/04/2019 23:22

I missed the last episode Sad
It didn't record. Could somebody please do a recap ?
Thank you

beanaseireann · 02/04/2019 17:48

Bumping

calpop · 02/04/2019 17:53

Its on iplayer

beanaseireann · 02/04/2019 18:24

I'm not in the UK and can't get the i player 😰😰😰😰

Calzone · 02/04/2019 19:48

I’ve only watched 4 episodes.

Are there more?

beanaseireann · 02/04/2019 20:54

I've only seen 3.
Aghhhhh Angry

ItstheGFAStupid · 03/04/2019 22:48

Just watched episode 5 of 8 I think it's excellent and compelling, if a little up its own arse.

Bittern11 · 03/04/2019 22:55

Hmm. Just seen the first episode. Obviously something mad has happened with Gere and his ex. Why is she working for homeless charity? But what? Their son is uncomfortable with both.

Gere is clearly king dick swinger, so his son feels emasculated (prostitute scene) but wtf??

And who is the girl who disappeared?

What’s her relation to Gere etc?

Loved sinead cusack and Paul Ready in this.

Bittern11 · 03/04/2019 22:55

And the brain op - dh and I were bellowing at the telly! Bonkers.

beanaseireann · 04/04/2019 07:29

Because I missed Episode 4 - bl*ody recorder didn't record itSad and I can't get the BBC i player ( I'm in Ireland and you can't get it here ) is there any point watching Ep 5 ?

RedRiverShore · 04/04/2019 09:58

I thought it was really good last night and up til now have been a bit meh about it. I chose to watch it last night instead of The Bay and glad I did, up til now I have been watching that instead.

beanaseireann
I would probably watch it as the episode last night really just involved the family and there were lots of flashbacks.

beanaseireann · 04/04/2019 10:32

Thank you RedRiverShore

GarthFunkel · 04/04/2019 11:35

How on earth did they get Richard Gere to do this? His first telly in years and it's just ... a bit crap. I can see they were trying to do a State of Play/Murdoch thing - plus whatever dodgy thing Sarah Lancashire is up to with her "colleagues" - but unless there's some massive plot twist and improvement that makes me rethink it all so far it's just a bit crap and a waste of such good actors.

The80sweregreat · 04/04/2019 18:44

It's weird isn't it ? I couldn't believe the under water bit and the politician with her 'housing project' is a bit sinister.
It's just an odd drama all round but the acting isn't bad. I want to know more so I'll stick with it.

Charley50 · 10/04/2019 22:46

I really like it Blush

HouseOfMouse · 11/04/2019 04:15

I like it too. Quite a bit of drama / plot development tonight though still not sure where it’s all going. I actually quite like Gere in this - he’s playing a complete monster, but one with a veneer of charm that most people don’t seem to see through. He has been cruel to his son from the start - undermining him at work, sneering at his flat etc. The actor playing Cayden is very good indeed.

Charley50 · 11/04/2019 08:23

I agree House of Mouse. (Caden is also kinda sexy). The plot's developed really well over the series, and the acting's great. I like the political stuff as well; it was bit ambiguous initially (unless I'm just thick), as to whether the opposition is a 'good' or 'bad' one. Although after last night it's clear she's very sinister.

ItstheGFAStupid · 11/04/2019 15:37

Is it me or us the SL character a real nut job? Is she supposed to be our Trump?

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 13/04/2019 18:28

Parts of this have been so painful to watch Sad

ColdCrumpetsandButter · 15/04/2019 01:09

I've given up. It's terrible.

cherrytree63 · 15/04/2019 08:30

I'm really enjoying it, I thought the whole box set was available and now disappointed that I've got to wait for the rest (my memory is rubbish thanks to Gabapentin, and I'm always mixing up other programmes and confusing myself lol).
The plot is developing so well IMO. Not always a fan of flashback filming but this is easy to follow and adds to the build up.
Have we found out what happened to the daughter they lost? As in did she die or miscarriage, or is she Tonia?
Burst out laughing at Caden saying gardening's for cunts!

cherrytree63 · 15/04/2019 08:33

Also I watched this after a classic Corrie episode, SL is incredibly slim looking, makes me wonder if she's wearing a fat suit today (even though that was 30ish years ago).
