New Drama starring Richard Gere.

This better be good!

Just finished the second episode. I really like it, although found it difficult to watch that end scene. Was I imagining it or was Kayden trying to soothe himself on his mother's breast.

mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork · 14/03/2019 12:48

Watching the operation was grim ; must have been a private hospital. Can't imagine the NHS having viewing galleries.
Private hospitals don't have them either. No surgeon in his right mind would want the parents of the patient watching the operation! It was a very mad scene.
I struggled through the first two episodes of this and I was not entertained so am giving up now.

Mother Father Son-what on earth? utter nonsense. Second episode... reading snow white to her adult son? Wanting to "kiss a pretty nurse?" who WROTE this script? Slow and jarring dialogue, nonsensical plot, disappointing. Not even an OBE decorated actress can save this. Hope the reviewers trash it. I'd rather watch 'Hey Duggie".

Ellieboolou27 · 14/03/2019 21:15

Ok I’m going to watch 2nd episode on catch up..... not holding out much hope

Ilovetea33 · 15/03/2019 02:50

I found the flashbacks tedious. According to the Digital Spy forum, it has lost half its audience (1m viewers). Can't say I'm surprised.

Ellieboolou27 · 15/03/2019 07:29

2nd episode was better than 1st, it's one of those series that I would forget it's on rather than set to record.

RedRiverShore · 15/03/2019 08:52

I watched it and found it not too bad but they seem to be going for shock episode endings and not much other substance.

The80sweregreat · 15/03/2019 16:09

The flashbacks didn't bring much to the table. It's all a bit meh!

beanaseireann · 16/03/2019 16:42

I certainly found the final scene yuck and wasn't sure if what I had seen was just imagination but you've confirmed it lazymum99

hopeishere · 21/03/2019 07:16

Anyone still persevering?

Last nights was particularly crap. The lighting seemed all weird and was going light to dark - or was that just my TV?

I missed the "sting" did they plant the evidence?

Is the girl in the centre injured? Is she going to do a kiss and tell?

Was that the mums apartment? Bedside a railway line? Are we ever going to get the homeless mans backstory? Are we to assume he was ruined by Richard Gere?

There's the germ of a good story in there but the scrip and OTT elements have lost it.

beanaseireann · 21/03/2019 07:42

Hadn't time to watch it but recorded it.

RedRiverShore · 21/03/2019 08:07

I forgot it was on, shows how invested I am in it, will watch later maybe.

lazymum99 · 21/03/2019 08:08

I was quite enjoying it but found last nights episode boring.

calpop · 21/03/2019 10:07

hmmm just watched ep3 and am still finding it strangely coming, even though it is very weird. Not sure where its all going - maybe Gere suffering a fall from grace and the irony of his son just being ordinary but ending up happy.

calpop · 21/03/2019 10:08

compelling

HouseOfMouse · 21/03/2019 14:55

I’m finding it intriguing if odd - and a bit overblown in places. I think the son may bring the father down - all that stuff about phone tapping, for example. Especially now that he is being dropped from his father’s organisation after a lifetime of trying to win the monstrous old sod’s approval.

JMAngel1 · 22/03/2019 21:49

Gosh I'm loving it but I could watch Helen Mc slice onions all day long - I find her fascinating.

Ellieboolou27 · 27/03/2019 21:22

It’s all coming out now, finally I’m starting to understand it 😂 maybe I’m a bit slow, enjoying it now

tessiegirl · 27/03/2019 21:55

I'm really enjoying this Grin

Bravelurker · 28/03/2019 02:48

After this weeks episode, I know where this is going and it is definitely getting better.

fussychica · 28/03/2019 18:30

We are enjoying this even though it's going at a fairly slow pace. It's nice to see something a bit different. Richard Gere is a waste of money, whatever they paid him, he is so one dimensional! However, Helen Mc and particularly Billy Howle as the son are excellent.

beanaseireann · 28/03/2019 19:43

Bravelurker
Where's it going ?

Ilovetea33 · 29/03/2019 01:14

I usually like Richard Gere, but I think he's just not menacing enough for this.

beanaseireann · 30/03/2019 09:41

I don't get the love for Richard Gere.
I think he has tiny eyes- little brown smarties, or coffee beans.

Flobochin · 01/04/2019 19:06

Gave up - haven't a clue what's going on and Cayden just annoying.
