Starts Tues 5th.

Looks like it’s set in the 1990s this time.

Loved this one! I had a “Ms” teacher - only one! She was terrifying. And an inspirational English teacher. She left at Easter in my Upper Sixth year to join Riverdance 😄 after her fiancé ditched practically at the altar (totally outs self with that one)!

LivLemler · 15/03/2019 07:52

Important plot point - isn't a child of Prague supposed to have a broken head? Sure they were only doing Sr Michael a favour.

Eve · 15/03/2019 08:35

Particularly liked the use of the word ‘foundered’!

And the part where they are sashaying in the eyeliner and their faces when Sister Michael appears.

Brought back memories of my all girls school headmistress!

Teacher left for Riverdance Grin that is hilarious.

Chocolatepeanuts · 15/03/2019 10:34

Yes Liv everyone that i know has a child of prague with a broken head. Went my aunt lived in New York she brought the most amazing CoP figure home with her as a gift for my mum. It'scloak was real silk! I wonder where it went actually. My mum showed everyone and anyone who came to the house!

FreeButtonBee · 15/03/2019 12:50

My mum made me and (English, CoE) DH (to be) posed with the child of prague in the garden the day before we got married. Leave it out over night to guarantee no rain on your wedding day (it still rained...)
Or was this just a mad superstition in my family?

sue51 · 15/03/2019 13:10

FreeButtonBee My mum tried to stick a child of prague statue in the garden before our wedding and I was stupid enough to say no, none of that superstitious nonsense for me. It poured down on my big day.

FreeButtonBee · 15/03/2019 13:12

Grin @sue51

Chocolatepeanuts · 15/03/2019 14:56

Not just you free!

Voila212 · 15/03/2019 15:01

Oh God no freebutton, he was put out a least a week before a wedding and if your friends and family had one they would put their statue out as well. You left yours out to late😏

RuggerHug · 15/03/2019 16:30

No I think most families had that. I even remember a tweet during the heat wave last year saying 'whoever left the child of Prague out in the garden last week can you bring him in now?'

MindyStClaire · 15/03/2019 18:26

Oh yeah. My sister got married last year. We don't have one, heathen Dublin West Brits that we are. Grin Several of her friends' mothers put them out instead to make sure!

SrSteveOskowski · 16/03/2019 18:06

Apparently it's good luck if his head is knocked off, but only if it happens by accident.

RuggerHug · 19/03/2019 19:57

Tonight is the Take That episode 😁😁😁

ILoveMaxiBondi · 19/03/2019 21:34

ILoveMaxiBondi · 19/03/2019 21:43

“Get in the van fucko!”

ilovepixie · 19/03/2019 22:02

Loved tonight's episode.

Choccywoccyhooha · 19/03/2019 22:48

So good. 90s teenage-hood captured supremely in 30 minutes.

Cleebope2 · 19/03/2019 23:12

Already watched it three times. You miss loads on the first viewing.Totally cracks me up each time. So many fast fire funny lines. Loving it.

Ottessa · 19/03/2019 23:15

The cheese and onion sandwich that would turn an Orange March was brilliant. And the STRABANE WHEELIE-BIN string-pulling.

oldowlgirl · 19/03/2019 23:38

I've watched it twice tonight @Cleebope2 - totally agree that you miss loads first time round, generally because you're laughing so hard at what has just been said.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 19/03/2019 23:46

Was the Strabane (that autocorrects to Stravinsky Grin) wheelie bin string pulling a reference to something that actually went on in the 90’s? It felt like it was. I was a child then so didnt pay much attention to the news.

Cleebope2 · 20/03/2019 17:16

Oh God, who knows what went on in Strabane in the 90s?Or anywhere else. Who’ s pulling the strings in Strabane? So funny.

Chocolatepeanuts · 20/03/2019 19:43

I remember getting our wheelie bins. The excitement! Wasn't Strabane though!

MrsJayy · 21/03/2019 19:36
