Looks like it’s set in the 1990s this time.

Do protestants really keep Toasters in the cupboard?

I do Grin

MrsJayy · 06/03/2019 09:32

Oh how good was Sister Michael and her prodestant counterpart both as fed up as each other , I was loving the subplot of the big bowlGrin

5foot5 · 06/03/2019 10:07

Fantastic. Though for the first five minutes until my ears had tuned in I felt like I needed subtitles.

Sister Michael is a star

RuggerHug · 06/03/2019 10:08

It's amazing. Michelle telling stories when she can't remember the person's name is every time DM and DSis tell me one. And we're not from Derry🤣

The list on the blackboard was hilarious.

SukisKettle · 06/03/2019 10:11

Well now I'm Catholic (very lapsed) as are my family and all of our toasters are kept on the worktop.

MrsJayy · 06/03/2019 10:13

Dh had to put subtitles on for Michelle when she is on a tangent he couldn't catch what she was saying.

isabellerossignol · 06/03/2019 10:16

Well now I'm Catholic (very lapsed) as are my family and all of our toasters are kept on the worktop.

A quick poll in my office this morning, where I am the only Protestant, revealed that I am the only person who keeps their toaster in the cupboard (as do all my family). 😂

MrsJayy · 06/03/2019 10:21

I am a prodestant my toaster is on the worktop i think it must be your family quirk Isabelle although I am nota NI prodestant we might do things a wee bit different in Scotland

implantsandaDyson · 06/03/2019 10:47

I just watched last night's episode Grin I could barely watch the residential - I was at loads of residential, peace building weekends between 16 and 18. I'm hitting a beamer now thinking of all the icebreaker games and trust exercises.

As an aside, at the weekend my 13 year old wore exactly the same outfit as Erin does at the beginning of the episode Grin

ilovepixie · 06/03/2019 13:16

I'm a NI Protestant and I don't keep my toaster in the cupboard and I like ABBA!
Although I do like soup SmileSmile

Chocolatepeanuts · 06/03/2019 15:52

Ha ha. Im out with 2 protestants tonight (my bffs) so will ask them about their toasters. As a Catholic mines never moves off the worktop Grin

MrsJayy · 06/03/2019 17:54

Aye ask them , just noticed Protestant has no d Blush

cushioncovers · 06/03/2019 18:06

Just found this thread. Love this show.

cushioncovers · 06/03/2019 18:09

Sister Michael’s contempt for Father Peter was great Grin

Thenameisweasley · 06/03/2019 18:12

Was brilliant. It's like the NI version of the inbetweeners Grin

MrsChollySawcutt · 06/03/2019 18:26

Love it. Sister Michael is just perfect, (though possibly a little too kindhearted) reminds me of my 70s/80s convent school so much!

sue51 · 06/03/2019 18:30

Lapsed Catholic here and my toaster is on the counter. I love Sister Michael though she's at least 100 years younger than my old headmistress.

Encyclo · 06/03/2019 19:19

I’m a southern Catholic and I like the toaster out. Dh, an English Protestant always puts it away 😂. He’s tall, I have freckles, he hates ABBA and I love them. 😃

Encyclo · 06/03/2019 19:23

The big bowl subplot was cracking me up.

“Why wouldn’t she want her big bowl back Jerry? It just doesn’t make sense”

Uptheapplesandpears · 06/03/2019 19:48

Ok so I thought the ending was a bit shit, but the rest was hilarious. So excited for the rest of the series! I think the Protestant lesbians question was my favourite.

Choccywoccyhooha · 06/03/2019 19:51

I have a Protestant ex boyfriend from Bangor and a Catholic ex from Derry. Both kept their toasters out on the counter!

SuptHastingsLikeTheBattle · 06/03/2019 20:30

Love the show, also loving the big toaster debate it’s provoked Grin

Hearing the Cranberries at the end though made me Sad after hearing about Dolores O’Riordan last year.

Rarfy · 06/03/2019 20:36

Really enjoyed this but another one who got lost when Michelle was talking fast. The big bowl storyline had me in stitches.
