When is it back? I'm sure I read somewhere that it would be back in April. Does anyone have any theories about the storyline or characters?

The AC12 triumvirate comprising Hastings, Arnott and Fleming will definitely be back.

What about Roz Huntley? and her rather drippy DH ?

Wil Nige feature? and will we find out how and why Maneet was being blackmailed by Hilton?

I can't wait, frankly.

I still think Nige might figure in all this - I think he could be H. Knowing Dot's cruel tendencies, he may have nicknamed Nige 'Hopalong' because of his disability?

NoWordForFluffy · 08/04/2019 17:29

Bumblebee, I bloody love that theory!

I definitely think John's days are numbered and agree that there's too much schmalz surrounding Kate's life, so she's likely to be the main cast member to be killed.

pineapplebryanbrown · 08/04/2019 17:41

Oooh I'd love to see Nige back!

WhoWants2Know · 08/04/2019 18:08

I agree that it seems unlikely that H would be something as simple as a name. An initial would be a shitty codename. And because "H" was mentioned in more contexts than just Dot's dying declaration, it's not that he was trying to spell a name.

PineapplePatty · 08/04/2019 18:08

Did we actually see Dot die? I can't remember.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 08/04/2019 18:50

Yes, we did see Dot's dying moments, with Kate by his side (recording his last words).

I think that they call the head honcho (that might be a clue in itself) 'H' may suggest that it is a code name and that no-one knows who he is. If he has stayed at the top of the dodgy coppers' hierarchy, he has clearly done so by being very careful.

I think there may be more clues in series 4 than I remember. I was so distracted by Roz Huntley and her festering arm that I didn't entirely pay attention to how Jimmy Lakewell played a part in wider corruption/OCG plot roll-out.

PineapplePatty · 08/04/2019 18:52

So if Dot is alive maybe that proves Kate is dodgy.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 08/04/2019 18:56

If Dot is alive then presumably the corruption would have had to extend to the coroner, given how he appeared to die? Surely that's a step too far?

Ilooklikeapencil · 08/04/2019 19:45

Wee saw Dot on the ground looking v v v poorly and Kate seeking a "Dying Declaration".
That DOES NOT mean he actually died! Denton did the same with Pradesh (?) (the bent copper she rammed) and he didn't die, and he got off as a result of his DD being rescinded because he didn't die!

Maybe Dot did survive ...

TheZeppo · 08/04/2019 20:34

I love Dot- I hope he’s alive!

I reckon Kate is for the off and they’re priming Sam as the one to step up.

I think rogue-not-rogue is definitely crazy, but what fantastic acting from Stephen Graham!

pepperpot99 · 08/04/2019 20:40

Oh I bloody hope Nige is back. he had the best line ever in series 3:

Kate: 'whaddya want Nige?'

Nige: 'four things: I - mmu- ni - ty'. Fucking classic, mate Grin.

Ooh yes Ilooklikeapencil that is true, Prasad didn't die did he? he requested immunity from prosecution and got it.

I have been saying all along Dot may well come back to haunt us and also Jackie Laverty is going to feature somehow......

Deffo think the theory that Lisa McQueen is Gates' and Jackie's daughter has credibility.

Jesus, Mary and Mother of God I just can't stand it. Plus we are going to have to start another thread.....

WhoWants2Know · 08/04/2019 20:54

They didn't do any sort of funeral references at the end of the episode after Dot's declaration. They had subtitles to show that Lindsey Denton had a council funeral and no mourners, and that Tony Gates' family received his pension, and that Hilton's body was found at the docks.

Ilooklikeapencil · 08/04/2019 21:22

Prasad not Pradesh. Yes!

SherlockHolmes · 08/04/2019 22:33

H is Mrs Hastings I think.

30not13 · 08/04/2019 22:37

DP and I think Nige will be implicated somehow

SherlockHolmes · 08/04/2019 22:38

And all the criminals in the gang are UCOs, but none of them know about the others.

30not13 · 08/04/2019 22:45

Saw this and HAD to share Grin

cushellekoala · 08/04/2019 22:55

Sorry just rewatched yesterdays episode....what is an AFO...?

longwayoff · 08/04/2019 23:00

Authorised firearms officer?

Rumbletum2 · 08/04/2019 23:13

I’ll stop watching if they try to bring horrible Sam in!!

yumyumpoppycat · 08/04/2019 23:47

Wasn't Denton trying to get a sister (or some other young woman) out of trouble and that is how the bad guys pulled her strings? This was revealed in the scene just before she died when she was in the car with Dot - It was never explained who this sister was or why she was in trouble - I may be mis-remembering though. Could Lisa be Denton's sister? I do prefer the gates/laverty theory though (this is all going a bit game of thrones now!).

whatashower · 08/04/2019 23:48

Oooh, oooh, just thinking about this far too much

What if Ted, being wedded to his job and nailing bent coppers, has fabricated his financial losses to make himself look vulnerable, to make himself a target for recruitment, and not even his wife is aware, or better still, is in on it?

yumyumpoppycat · 08/04/2019 23:56

I would love it if Ted was pretending to be having domestic trouble but not so sure ;)

I do think the reason he is getting shifty might be that he knows more than he is letting on to kate and steve and that possibly he has planted Lisa in a side investigation that he doesn't want them to know about. Lisa could be the new undercover to replace Kate. Didn't something similar happen in series 1 with Kate spying on steve. Why doesn't he want them to have the full picture though?
