When is it back? I'm sure I read somewhere that it would be back in April. Does anyone have any theories about the storyline or characters?

The AC12 triumvirate comprising Hastings, Arnott and Fleming will definitely be back.

What about Roz Huntley? and her rather drippy DH ?

Wil Nige feature? and will we find out how and why Maneet was being blackmailed by Hilton?

I can't wait, frankly.

Oh my memory is shit! I thought he was flirting with a civil servant in the series starring Daniel Mays which was S2?

SavageBeauty73 · 03/03/2019 21:39

I thought he had got money troubles and she left him (hence might be a bent cop) but I could be reaching 🧐

Violetroselily · 03/03/2019 21:42

That was series 3 @bibbitybobbityyhat

Series 1 is with Lennie James, series 2 Keeley Hawes, series 3 Daniel Mays and series 4 Thandie Newton

bibbitybobbityyhat · 03/03/2019 21:55

Ah! oh yes, you are quite right. I watched them all out of order - S3 then 1 then 2 then 4.

I think 3 was the most gripping overall.

unique1986 · 03/03/2019 21:58

I'm not sure anything can beat Roz and her arm 😯

Violetroselily · 03/03/2019 22:00

I can watch series 2 over and over again. Mark Bonnar is excellent as Dryden.

Muddlingalongalone · 03/03/2019 22:10

Just starting them all again in anticipation of s5 starting.

Butterymuffin · 03/03/2019 22:14

Need to re watch them all before April. Keeley Hawes was outstanding as Denton. Oh, and in Ted I trust (fella) Smile

twattymctwatterson · 03/03/2019 22:32

I fancy Martin Compston so much, even if he is your stereotypical "torn faced wee shite" as my dad would say.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 04/03/2019 07:41

When I was looking at the cast list I noticed that Mark Bonnar was in it (sans facial hair) but can't recall him, although the implication is that he is a recurring character. Remind who Dryden is, please, *Violetroselily"?

Piggywaspushed · 04/03/2019 07:52

Dryden is a slippery guy who pops in and out of the series. he is a senior police officer who pulls a lot of strings. Not to be trusted, Suspiciously handsome Grin

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 04/03/2019 07:57

Oh thanks, Piggywaspushed. Yes, he is suspiciously handsome Wink - always!

Hoping for a lull in good TV dramas for the next few weeks so I can rewatch all the previous series again.

Piggywaspushed · 04/03/2019 08:00

He is certainly typecast! I would fall for his charms.

I am not a binge watcher but I did sepnd a whole weekend in 2016, I think, watching series 1, 2 and 3 back to back.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 04/03/2019 08:28

No I don't tend to binge watch series either (but again broke my norm to watch The Bridge first three series last Easter).

pepperpot99 · 04/03/2019 08:52

I have been binge watching for months! I just watched that series 5 trailer as well. There are some really good actors in there , Ace Bhatti is great. I'm also glad to see Maneet back again, and Steven Graham is brilliant. Did anyone see him as the SIO in Little Boy Blue? he was terrific in that.

The codename 'H' ? could it really be Hastings? it seems a bit too obvious now. We know he has a long history of financial problems but he's such a good Catholic boy that I can't imagine anyone has serious dirt on him.....or have they? (strokes beard thoughtfully).

Oh Lordy I can''t wait.... Grin

Maneet went rogue, didn't she (I'd forgotten all about her misdemeanours in the last series).

Arkengarthdale · 04/03/2019 09:00

Mark Bonner played Assistant Chief Constable Dryden (ACC? Is that right?) and had an affair with Lindsey Denton but also had a bj from a young girl in a car who was later found murdered...

I think.

Bonny lad 😍

unique1986 · 04/03/2019 11:19

Stephen Graham is a good actor but its kinda annoying that's its always the same actors that guest star.
I could have bet money it would be him.

Bittermints · 04/03/2019 11:28

Is the last series on Netflix or iplayer? I've got the rest of them on DVD. What with this and the return of Game of Thrones I foresee a lot of TV soon.

Violetroselily · 04/03/2019 12:00

@Bittermints yes they're all on Netflix

Bittermints · 04/03/2019 12:42

Yesssssss! Thanks, Violetroselily.

pepperpot99 · 04/03/2019 14:01

My elder dd has been binge catching up on all 4 series recently and she is not convinced that Dot actually died....Shock. Stranger things have happened....

I predict that the series will pit all three - Hastings, Arnott and Fleming - against each other, with nobody sure about who they can trust.

Who was the senior officer found dead by “suicide” by the same lake/ river that the social services guy was also found dead (the one the care home boys reach out to) - the same officer that Thandie Newton reported to and played a blinder with suggesting she’d sleep with him for his help?

RedCrab · 04/03/2019 14:20

Didn’t Ros go to prison at the end? I can’t think she’d be in it again surely? She wasn’t really involved in the balaclava gang like Lindsey Denton was (and ended up coming back to help) - it was her useless husband and lawyer friend?

JessMariano · 04/03/2019 15:03

S1 & 2 are on iPlayer for anyone wanting to catch up.
