When is it back? I'm sure I read somewhere that it would be back in April. Does anyone have any theories about the storyline or characters?

The AC12 triumvirate comprising Hastings, Arnott and Fleming will definitely be back.

What about Roz Huntley? and her rather drippy DH ?

Wil Nige feature? and will we find out how and why Maneet was being blackmailed by Hilton?

I can't wait, frankly.

I am honestly so sad and desperate that I wrote down the starting date in my diary! I am obsessed.

I'll start a countdown thread in a few days.....

Does anyone want to make any predictions about who will or won't be in the series (apart from the obvious ones)?

I predict: at least a cameo from Nige. Possibly something from Carly Kirk. Also they may involve Manish Prasad from series 2, the violent boyfriend who was in Vice, Polk Avenue and in bed with Tommy H.

They will revisit Dot's dying declaration. And what about the little kid from series 1 - Ryan? he'd be about 18 now.

I too can't wait! I've just rewatched season 4 as it's my least favourite and I couldn't really remember it.

Yeah I've just seen up thread 31st march is the date the new series starts. Well time and an excellent distraction from Brexit. I'm off to re-watch the previous series in preparation.

Is Hargreaves the one with glasses (and a northern accent). I really cannot believe it's Hastings. He doesn't strike me as being at all sly - he's good, honest man through and through.... There has been no hint that Hastings is bent which is more than can be said for any of the others.

I'd forgotten much of the recurring themes story arch which links them all...Not sure where we're heading next. Do you think we might see Ros Huntley and Jimmy Lakewell again?

Oh my goodness. I've just binge-watched 1 and 2 in 4 days and about to start 3 purely on asking on a different MN thread … 'would I like Line of Duty?'

DH is working away tonight and due home 10pm tomorrow. Can I get the whole of series 3 in before his return? Very tempted.

For people re-watching, keep an eye out for the names on Danny Waldron’s list in Series 3. Some of them also appear in the list of high-ranking H’s at the end of Series 4!

Only up to series 2 plus series 3 ep 1 and no, she hasn't been found so far. Series 2 she flashed up on the missing persons file briefly when Denton was flicking through looking for Carly Kirk.

No she isn't found but in series 4 Lakewell refers to bodies being brought out of freezers with your DNA on if you step out of line...I think that was meant to be nod nod to Jacqui Laverty

Rollergirl11 when I rewatched series 1-4 last week, I took a screenshot of the list Waldron had written. Most of the names didn't mean anything to me (off to have another look), with the exception of Tommy Hunter and the dodgy police chief (the one with the lambchop sideburns). Not sure there are any 'H' clues there though?

We know that Jackie Laverty was involved in money laundering. Was it for drugs or prostitution/people trafficking? No her body hasn't been officially discovered. Her body was last seen in a freezer in the unit where Steve was tortured, wasn't it?

Hastings isn't the "very top" though is he? He was lower ranking than Hilton for example.

FoofFighter yes it could be Hyde-? (think the blob of blood distracted me). So there's been a significant 'H' in every series (? for series 1, Hilton, Hargreaves, Huntley, who's next for series 5?). I guess all will be revealed shortly but not soon enough.
