When is it back? I'm sure I read somewhere that it would be back in April. Does anyone have any theories about the storyline or characters?

The AC12 triumvirate comprising Hastings, Arnott and Fleming will definitely be back.

What about Roz Huntley? and her rather drippy DH ?

Wil Nige feature? and will we find out how and why Maneet was being blackmailed by Hilton?

I can't wait, frankly.

FATHER TED- of course! More Crilly than frilly though 😂

LostInShoebiz · 02/04/2019 20:43

Did Ted turn out to be a Freemason in series 3?

Very scared for Kate now we’ve seen her family again. A case of Chekov’s son? He he.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 02/04/2019 20:45

Sorry, haven't read back.

Can anyone remind me again of why Hilton was able to blackmail Maneet? Or what was her relationship to him?

BitOfFun · 02/04/2019 20:55

Bibs, she wanted to help him out of his gambling debts, and the boss agreed to employ/promote him if she passed him info on AC12. I think.

Tinkoschminko · 02/04/2019 20:57

Nice work, Lostinshoebiz

Piggywaspushed · 02/04/2019 21:01

Did Ted not get kind of sidelined by all these powerful people because he wasn't in fact a Mason?

You definitely do not get Catholic Masons...

But there was some sort of Masons plot, indeed.

Piggywaspushed · 02/04/2019 21:02

glares at mrss : do not spoil my Martin Compston fantasy!! Angry

Isitme13 · 02/04/2019 21:35

Catholic Masons, while not common, are possible.

I have an old family friend who is very Catholic, and very much a Mason.

Piggywaspushed · 02/04/2019 21:36

ReaaaaallY? Gosh! They're not known for their embracing of catholicism. Is this in NI?

GeorgeTheBleeder · 02/04/2019 21:36

Sad not to be first with the Milkman reference!

bibbitybobbityyhat · 02/04/2019 21:36

I think the Masons is a red herring. I think Ted is entirely honourable and upstanding but the whole of this series will get you (us) having doubts about him.

Piggywaspushed · 02/04/2019 21:38

I guess all in all , whilst Ted seems straightforward , he is actually very conflicted and ambiguous. Hmmmm...

LostInShoebiz · 02/04/2019 21:45

I think he has been up to no good but only at a low level. He’ll redeem himself by some sort of fatal sacrifice in the final episode. And then I’ll cry for days.

Isitme13 · 02/04/2019 21:46

Yes, it’s a puzzle, for sure.

Not NI, and no Irish links at all.

Piggywaspushed · 02/04/2019 21:50

I think it might be less weird outside NI or Scotland perhaps. But the RC church certainly frowns upon it.

I got the impression Ted went along with the Masons because that's what the police do.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 02/04/2019 21:50

I think we haven't heard enough about the unwise property investments that prompted Ted's wife to want to divorce him. So some of that will be unearthed in this series, or maybe the next one, but even after all that Ted will still be a bona fide goodun

HoozThatGirl · 02/04/2019 21:50

Just watched it. I'm determined to keep up to date so I can follow this thread.
Hastings fans, I don't know how to link to Twitter but have a look at @TedHastingsAC12.

IntentsandPorpoises · 02/04/2019 22:04

I'm watching it for a second time. In case I missed anything.

Pomegranatepompom · 02/04/2019 22:08

I’m rewatching series 4. Dinwe know it’s definitely H? In the playback of the Fot scene, he seemed to sink when Kate said I???
Although not sure any high ranking officers with the initial?

Pomegranatepompom · 02/04/2019 22:08

*Dot not fot!

Pomegranatepompom · 02/04/2019 22:11

And *wink not sink (tired)

IRanSoFarAway · 02/04/2019 22:45

Have just watched the latest episode which in true fashion has a twist at the end! Love love love LOD and loved Bodyguard.
Have just read last two pages of thread as don't want to ruin it for myself- I have an uncle Gerard, my gran (his mum) was a Catholic and my gran's brother was called Edward, known as Eddie. From Glasgow but an Irish Catholic background.

Cushellekoala · 02/04/2019 23:02

Fyi ted and kate about to be on jonathan ross

Ladybirdbookworm · 03/04/2019 00:35

I was also a bit thrown that Ted was a Catholic and a Mason.
I always thought that the two did not go together at all.

MITCHELL33 · 03/04/2019 06:10

You do get Catholic Masons husbands one many a night gone through the little black book with "letters missing" too!

Note the handshake touching of a knuckle!
