I'm a bit confused by some of the current living arrangements....
Who lives with Eileen?
Is Sean still living with Billy?
Does Claud live with Ken?

Audrey selling the salon to Claudia was pathetic. They met, talked for two minutes, didn't discuss price and it was a done deal. Ridiculous writing.

Just caught up but have to comment on how unbelievable and absolutely ridiculous that none of the nurses or Drs told Sinead about her son being poorly and may need a operation. I'm pretty sure Sinead would ask one of the midwives how he is doing.
I know Daniel told her eventually and thank god I couldn't watch another 'secret' being kept from one of those two.
It's a merry go round with those two with secrets and getting found out then promising to be honest ? Rarrrgh I can't watch the same storyline again!

Ken has a degree in English. In the very first episodes he had just graduated, and was irritated by his parents' working class habits such as not using a milk jug but having the bottle on the table.

Shock horror Amy didn't leave the test in the bin to be found!! Thats a soap normal isnt it?!

Rosie is away on MAT leave and could be back soonish as she had her little girl before me and mine is 6 months now.....

Ken and Daniel have degrees, do any of the women?

Sair Khan's character has a degree I think but don't know about any of the other female characters.

Has anyone missed Rosie?

Yes, Aaliyah has a degree in fashion or something I think - hence her initially getting the job in the factory. Well, it's fashion or it's business, but it's definitely something that they made a big deal out of it being relevant. I'm struggling to think of any other female graduates, except probably Rana. Presumably Adam and Imran have degrees. I remember Adam cheated in his law exams, but I think they were professional. He'd have the degree anyway. What about Toyah?

Wouldnt Toyah have a phd considering she seems to beable to pull strongs if anyone needs a psych assessment or free school places.

Klutz Yes... where the hell is Rosie? Surely she would have been in touch/come home when her mother was banged up wrongly. Its stuff like this that lets Corrie down.

And Eileen never mentions either of her sons. I always thought that when the Todd actor was taken off the show, a sensible story would have seen him go to visit his brother in Thailand; but no, he was last seen running from the police while Summer watched. There has been no follow up since then.

The problem though is that the actress who plays Rosie is on maternity leave so Rosie can't come and visit can she?

But they could get round all of these characters being away and making it more realistic if they just showed their parents on the phone to them once in a while. Even if they were just saying “bye Tod, ring me again when you get a chance.”

Completely agree @Honeyroar - it's little things like that that make it so much better. (Plus I love seeing old characters coming back eg for a funeral / family wedding / someone ill / in jail etc etc - not sure why but it makes me disproportionately happy!).

Yes, they could certainly have had the odd scene with Sally on the phone to Rosie, telling her not to worry, and chatting vaguely about a visit.

I'm sure they had sophie on the phone to rosie a few weeks ago and Sophie explaining that rosie was sorry she couldn't make it back but she's too busy etc..

I remember once in Emmerdale when the lady that plays Laurel was pregnant and on maternity leave, the storyline was that she went to stay with Doug because her mum was ill or something and they actually filmed a few scenes just Doug and her at her mums house , chatting in the garden etc and dotted them in now and again every month or so which seemed a much better way to do things.
They really need to come up with more realistic storylines for Maternity leave or just don't mention it for the first few months the characters are absent as it takes a couple of months before viewers really notice someone is missing.
The recent Fizz one is just ridiculous , like she wouldn't be coming home at weekends or over christmas , utter nonsense. They should have had Tyrone and Ruby going to her for xmas then or regular chat about visiting them . Same with Rosie not coming back when Sally is in prison , they could have had a couple of facetime phonecalls between the sisters or something more realistic.

Im sure Sally was on the phone to Rosie before her trial telling her not to come back

No offence to the girl who plays Amy but I don't think she has the emotional range to make this believable. She's better suited to eye rolling.
