Anyone watching the new series?

I loved the first ep and this was just as good. Fay Ripley nailed it.

I think that the Rachel footage was original, bits of it looked vaguely familiar.

I'll be sorry if Nicky leaves. I really like that actress. Maybe David will try to reconcile with Karen (again) and Adam will also show an interest.

The wedding footage was original. The outfits were all the same as the originals (I rewatched the 90’s series before the new ones came on, they are available on catch up/download) and they all look so young. There’s no way make up could’ve done that good a job on them all!

DH and I watched all the old series recently and I actually felt bereft when we finished.Yes the footage of Rachel is from the original,and it made me well up too, as did Jenny sat in the car outside the hospital.I think I read somewhere this is definitely the last series -I could be wrong - and some episodes are better than others ,but this weeks reminded me why I love Cold Feet so much.

I saw a promo for the next episode, at the festival, and it featured a few loaded looks between Adam and Karen, so I fear the writers are going there...

Why do they all have to fancy each other?

Jenny fancying Adam (and snogging him)
David fancying Rachel (and constantly telling Karen how sexy he thought she was)
Now potentially Adam & Karen.

FWIW, I don’t think Karen would go for Adam if they were real life people. In truth, I think an Adam type would be unlikely to go for a woman like Karen anyway, after a string of short relationships with much younger women. She’s unlikely to be his physical type (being 20+ yrs older than his previous conquests and all) but she is sexy and confident without being malleable. She’s unlikely to see him as the big ‘I am’. From Karen’s side, she knows his history and would be more likely to be turned off by it, I think. He’s having a midlife crisis, panicking about dying alone. Not very flattering. What’s in it for her? She gets some washed up old shagnasty? No ta.

Well put! It's a bit insulting if the writers think Karen would be interested in a "washed up old shagnasty?"like Adam! In fact I find it hard to believe that an attractive, successful woman like her would still be single.

I would like to think that Karen is single by choice. She finished it with the billionaire dad of Adam’s ex fiancé, after all.

True, although if she changed her mind then I'd like to think she could do far better than Adam!

Not sure about Adam and Karen getting together though. She's too good for him!!!

Absolutely superb acting from Fay Ripley tonight.

Brilliant tonight. Was ready to laugh and cry in equal measure. Really well written and perfectly acted.

That was very well done. Totally believable Fay Ripley. I like the contrast with the pathos of the 3 menfolk with their different troubles too.

NO NO NO! Not Karen and Adam! He's had something with Jen, was with Rachel, he can't end up with Karen. I'm hoping she turns the tables on him and is not interested. Adam certainly looks like he's all of a sudden in love with her.

Fantastic Jen tonight. Fay Ripley was on This Morning today talking about this storyline and she came across really lovely.

Really hard to watch

Just caught up, I thought it was a good episode.

Fay Ripley was fantastic, that hug at the end with Karen broke my heart.

Still not sure about Adam and Karen, can sort of see the chemistry but Karen and Rachel were best mates so it does seem wrong. At the end of day it could be just a kiss whilst stoned.

Why did she keep this to herself for so long. I can kind of see why - she's a capable type and then just carried it on.

It's a good storyline. I hope it's not going to be an unhappy ending though.

Not sure what I think about Adam and Karen kissing. I could see it coming though - they'd spent all day together, then got stoned. I don't want it to go anywhere though - she was his wife's best friend.

Don't think Adam and Karen will get together - certainly hope they won't! Definitely better as friends.

Very emotional episode, Fay Ripley was excellent.

I felt very sorry for David at the end

Not happy with Adam and Karen, something not right there. Dont know what.

I don't like them together, whether it's a one night stand or relationship. It feels inappropriate in the context of the show and the characters' history, and a bit desperate of the writer.

I don't think Karen has to leave Adam alone from a misguided 'loyalty to friend who died 20 years ago'. Although I hope they don't stay together. A stoned snog is believable but I don't think they fit as a couple.
Normally I dislike Jenny but Fay Ripley is fab with this storyline. My DSIS was diagnosed (with a different type of cancer) last summer and it brought back those first appointments so clearly.

Just watching this now. I think it's quite realistic that Adam and Karen would get together - they have so much history.
