whatsthestory123 · 15/01/2019 18:33

oh ive been watching the last series, was on every night last week

yes yes pete was chopping carrots but think that was the last series

mnahmnah · 15/01/2019 20:54

Just catching up. Adam is ruining it for me (not really Wink ) but it is irritating. Creepy. Sad. Really really hope they’re using it to show him getting a grip and meeting someone his own age, rather than thinking it’s funny or endearing. It’s not.

Violetroselily · 15/01/2019 21:23

Very silly, but the CPR scene had me in stitches

mrsrhodgilbert · 16/01/2019 08:52

I am very angry and upset that it looks like they are going down a breast cancer storyline. For those of us with it it’s so bloody lazy and predictable and definitely not entertaining. So many lives are affected by it in reality, it’s the last thing we need when trying to relax in the evening. So cross.

UrsulaPandress · 16/01/2019 10:05

I agree.

Greyhound22 · 16/01/2019 10:50

I love HN.

I think she's stunning. Sadly some of us have very thin and flat hair. What do you suggest we do - walk round tossing it about or wear a hairpiece so we don't offend with our follicly-challenged heads? Bit touchy perhaps but I've seen her criticised for her hair before.

Jen is bloody horrible though isn't she?

I've always thought JN was rather nice but even my toes are curling a bit now at his attempts.

WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit · 16/01/2019 11:23

Like anyone would look at James Nesbitt like that Hmm Grin

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 16/01/2019 12:42

Greyhound, I agree re HN’s hair. It’s a shame she succumbed to the mad fillers but I like that she’s resisted the trend for extensions and ‘fillers’ in the hair, that give tiny, menopausal women unnaturally huge, glossy bouffonty hair.

blimey Confused allowed to pull people up on everything else just not something you have a chip on your shoulder about

let me know if there is anything else i cant mention

Greyhound22 · 16/01/2019 18:32

It's not a chip on my shoulder it's just a really shitty attitude for women to pull women up on something about their appearance they can't control. If you don't like the style of someone's hair or what they're wearing or whatever then fair enough but saying her hair is terribly thin is the same as saying 'gosh isn't her nose massive'.

So I will pull you up on it.

whatsthestory123 · 16/01/2019 19:52

you carry on your crusade and i will carry on posting what i like

Greyhound22 · 16/01/2019 20:15

It's fine you're the one that's made yourself look a cow.

SlantyBaws · 16/01/2019 20:57

Personally I'm looking forward to seeing how Jenny's potential BC pans out. They have a good opportunity to show how it really is and not just some excuse for a character to wear some snazzy wigs (Samantha in sex and the city for instance. That made me livid).

whatsthestory123 · 16/01/2019 21:30

am i imagining but didnt Adam have testicular cancer previously?

sleeplessinsomewhere · 16/01/2019 21:43

Yes and had testicle removed.

whatsthestory123 · 16/01/2019 21:53

ah thought so, ta

why it seems always breast cancer for women, there must be many other types that they can make aware

DameSquashalot · 16/01/2019 22:13

I thought the same about the chest compressions. I didn't twig about the barrista.

BitOfFun · 16/01/2019 22:18

I seriously doubt that Cold Feet will do anything approaching a realistic depiction of breast cancer.

BitOfFun · 16/01/2019 22:22

Whatsthestory123, breast cancer is by FAR the most common cancer, especially in that age group.

sleeplessinsomewhere · 16/01/2019 22:23

I thought Pete was going to bump into Jenny at the hospital when visiting his canal friend.

BitOfFun · 16/01/2019 22:24

(And I think that bar chart actually covers both men and women.)

whatsthestory123 · 16/01/2019 22:28

well i guess if this is an upcoming story no doubt it will have a positive effect, that cant be a bad thing

it just seems its mostly breast for women and testicular for men

mrsrhodgilbert · 16/01/2019 22:57

I believe it’s very lazy script writing and very distressing for the many women and their families to find yet another programme that they may just have to turn off. I struggle to understand how anyone can look forward to it. I’m also can’t believe there are many women who don’t know the danger signs already. If it’s absolutely necessary to have major illness why not highlight something that’s not so well known? I’m just so tired of breast cancer being used as entertainment.

sleeplessinsomewhere · 16/01/2019 23:08

I remember the infertility story line upset many people as Rachel had been told she couldn't get pregnant. Then she got pregnant in RL so it was incorporated into the story line.

I see now why that would have been so maddening if you were struggling with fertility issues.

VanGoghsDog · 16/01/2019 23:14

"can't believe there are many women who don't know the danger signs", but there are.

My old boss didn't know, got diagnosed by a total fluke.
Jen in the show didn't seem to have any danger signs, boobs seeming bigger isn't commonly mentioned as being a sign of breast cancer, if mine seemed bigger I'd just think it was hormones. And I'm the same age as her.
