The Greatest Dancer

Finally watching episode 1 of this. What I don't understand is, do the contestants know they are on a stage and that the mirrors might open? I thought they didn't know, but none of them seem shocked that there's an audience there when they open

I was wondering that too, re younger boy. Perhaps they didn’t want to bring him back over from west of Ireland to tell him he was cut? Was he the only dancer that wasn’t there for the cut?

I don't see how the big groups can be compared against the individual dancers, and the different styles, it's all a bit like comparing apples and oranges.

I think it will be very hard to win with a solo dancer.

I loved the little girls but I don't think they can win. Globe Girls were very talented but not sure any of Oti's group can beat the pairs and big group appeal of those Matthew and Cheryl picked.

I just feel Oti was pushed around in the selection. But I could be wrong!

The solo dancers were fabulous but there is so much more you can do with a pair or big group! Lifts, etc. I think May be got set on one act and in order to get that act she had to let Cheryl take another. Cheryl came across very badly!

I'm not watching because it irritates me no end, but I'd be interested to know just how many different dance styles are represented now the 'captains' have made their choices. Is it mostly street/commercial with a bit of contemporary & latin thrown in?

I'm a bit Hmm about Cheryl's comment on Ellie's dance. I don't know much about dance and what is/isn't an appropriate theme for a 14 year but it just sounded a bit bitchy towards Oti and the people advising/choreographing Ellie.

I actually felt really sorry for the Globe Girls who did an amazing act.

JasperRising Cheyl's comment was just ridiculous. I think Cheryl just likes the lime light.
