Anyone watching?

The ads looked good but I’m a bit bored by the cliched/lazy writing already.

When does she sleep???!!!

I want some of the coffee her friend makes, it keeps you awake for 24 hours!

think I'm going to bow out now. couldn't give a monkeys if she pulls it off or not.

She won't pull it off surely? A hotshot business man wouldn't ' do a deal'
without checking out the person his dealing with?

No Fusioluxe I know what Frasier is, I just thought because you mentioned it at the bottom of your post, then I thought you were getting at the fact Kelsey Grammar protected his role, like SS did in Cleaning UpGrin

probably be a cliff hanger in the last episode and we will never find out because they won't do another series.

It might end like ' lock stock' film or the Italian job!
Sam hanging over a cliff by her heels!
That suit is nice though!

Oh , I didn't see that coming. Lol
Was expecting to see the cleaner boss.

Well I enjoyed this at first but its very predictable now .

Soon as she had the money from the ex MIL in her hands I knew it would go on gambling
As for meeting Swanny , well, it was close to 10.00 so I knew there would be an appearance of somebody who would know her .

What would you do though? The other woman is much more ' in the know' than Sam is! All she's done is watch a few u tube sites.

Scotschic · 23/01/2019 22:05

She was such a bitch to her daughter about the GA meeting, selfish bitch and in total denial.

Scotschic I think he did! I think he played it to be liked, funny and most importantly interesting. He was only booked to be in Cheers for a few episodes but they expanded the role because his character was liked. He was nominated for best supporting actor in a comedy.

When Cheers ended they created Frasier for him. He won four emmys for that I think.

If he had just been another man at the bar, I don’t think it would have happened.

Scotschic · 23/01/2019 22:07

Yes he probably did, I actually found Niles funnier than Frasier but on the whole they all had funny lines, Daphne had the least funny lines though, and I wish we had met Merris although I doubt they could have gotten an actress thin enough, they always made out to be pencil thin!

And it’s the actor who is playing Jess who protected her role, not SS. Sheridan purposefully didn’t.

Report
Scotschic · 23/01/2019 22:11

I see, so I take it SS asked for her character to be unlikeable then? She is a bitch, and she is very entitled.

The cleaning lady who SS bribed one hundred pounds to set off the fire alarm is Serbian. She also speaks fluent Spanish as that is the language that she was translating 'the speech' that the Compliance Manager was giving to the, as she put it in the translation, 'stupid cleaners.'

Why did she do that ? I thought the cleaners were from the former Eastern Block ?

Report
Fusioluxe · 23/01/2019 22:14

SS says she’s no longer protective of any of the roles she plays.

Would a reboot work though? The writers would have to be from the old series, and John Mahoney who played Marty is dead nowSad so he’d be gone but the show could work without Marty’s character, btw I couldn’t get into the link but the reboot word gave it away.

Although it’s not on the same scale then I don’t think Cold Feets reboot has worked, that should’ve been left where it was, it’s not the same without Helen Baxendale, and would you believe Hermione Norris was 29 when the original Cold Feet started?! God I thought she was in her 40s then, she’s 51 now but has looked in her 40s the whole time I’ve known her to be on the screen, I think it’s because she’s very thin, it made her look haggard. I watched her last night in a drama from 2002, Mark Strong was in it as her violent hubby and omg she looked ill she was that thinSad

Yes, Eddie is no longer around also.

Basically the article says KG is “exploring the possibility of” a continuation of Frasier where he would arrive in a new city.

😮😲😯

He says it would have to amazing for him to consider it.

Scotschic · 23/01/2019 22:26

Aww I almost forgot about Eddie, clearly the worlds cleverest dog!

For Frasier to work then you’d need him, Nile’s and Roz, Daphne wouldn’t be missed but because she married Nile’s then she’d most probably be in it, I don’t have anything against her, I just don’t think she was that remarkable a character to help the show survive!

Roz could be a Young Granny now, that’d be fun, and Nile’s and Daphne’s son would be about 16 now, if I’m correct that it stopped airing in 2002?

Report
Fusioluxe · 23/01/2019 23:16

Daphne went down very well in the states, at least on the East coast where I used to work. The stereotypical family of villains etc. from England.

I think a show could work without her if there was a reason she wasn’t there (back in the UK for some reason) but that would be short term. After all the fuss of them getting together, a divorce wouldn’t really work!

But if Frasier is in another city, Niles could visit without Daphne because she could be looking after the babies!

There could be a new Roz, would the old one go with him? Thee would be a whole set of new characters, hated Bulldog (not my kind of humour) and a couple of the others anyway.
