Ah, my squee has been carefully held back behind an anti-squee shield because of the very real danger of squee implosion due to the proximity of the Ashes to Ashes finale and the start of the new Doctor Who season.

It was a bit touch and go there, but nothing's been damaged. So, is it Saturday yet?

serenity · 03/04/2008 16:48

I have tempered my burgeoning Who overexcitement by indulging in an afternoon of watching the exquisite Winchester boys at various cons via YouTube. This will only work for as long as I don't see any DW trailers, so it's a damn good thing I'm at work the next two nights

Elffriend · 04/04/2008 16:55

Joining in the general sqeeeeness (Not up to date on A2A - Sky+is at the ready for tonight). I too am already doomed to impode following the Friday night Project and the running of fingers through hair .

Not seen the clip of devastated face! Is it on youtube? Link!!!!!

serenity · 04/04/2008 17:36

Hang on....should be on the BBC site.

This one, at about 1m in, I think. I'm sure Sue will correct me if I'm wrong.

Fubsy · 04/04/2008 17:36

JB on Paul O'Grady right now, Torchwood tonight, DT and Freema on jonathan Ross tonight, Doctor Who tomorrow......

SqueeeeBaroo · 04/04/2008 18:23

I think this is a direct link (could be wrong, it's a bit finicky), but yup, 1 minute in. Oh, the fanfic angst possibilities! Oh the excitement of seeing him play Hamlet in the flesh!

serenity · 04/04/2008 19:42

Bugger. No, it does the same as mine and goes to the shorter link - you need the 90' one not the 40' one that starts when you click on the link. It's listed down the right hand side......

SqueeeeBaroo · 04/04/2008 20:21

ach, cut to the chase, this is the direct youtube link. Flippin' faffy technology.

SqueeeeBaroo · 05/04/2008 20:08

Well then, what did we think? I was on a bit of a high straight afterwards, and I thought some of the exchanges (particularly the mime) were very well done and laugh out loud funny.

Pleased to see them squashing any remote notion of UST stone dead. But it was a bit of a meh sort of story. But hey ho, wasn't really ever going to be anything but a scen-setter.

I wasn't pleased to see Rose, although my girls were squeeing their little heads of. I guessed it was her even before she turned round.

But I wasn't pleased because it had 'heart-breakingly-ominous' written all over it, and I already blubbed like a big wet blubbing machine over the finale to Torchwood.

ChocolateRockingHorse · 05/04/2008 20:11

S'pose she was just flitting in "for a look" was she? (Rose?) and wasn't actually there at all? Thing is, it seemed to cost the Doctor himself a lot of effort and other more complicated stuff, to be able to "appear" to Rose, hologram style, in some obscure country, that time didn't it? So how is she just managing to flit in and out? (If that's what she's doing..)

cornsilk · 05/04/2008 20:17

My ds thinks Donna is really funny. Really enjoyed it.

ChocolateRockingHorse · 05/04/2008 20:24

Yeah, she wasn't as irritating as I expected. I had nothing to go on, see, as I missed that special with her in, when her and the Doctor met.

I suppose I can tolerate her til someone better comes along. Still a bit bovvered tho...

cornsilk · 05/04/2008 20:28

Yes, when she mimed,'Oh my God' I was a bit worried it was all going to be Lauren, but it turned out to be a really good scene.

JackieNo · 05/04/2008 20:32

BBC4 now - really old episode of Doctor Who - the Dead Planet. 1963. Tribute to Verity Lambert.

SqueeeeBaroo · 05/04/2008 20:35

There is not one tiny chance that she was just popping in for an inconsequential look. Marketh my wordeths, there's be trouble loomings.

SqueeeeBaroo · 05/04/2008 20:36

I know, I wanted to watch the Verity Lambert stuff, but Dh is watching friggin' Top Gear.

hippipotami · 05/04/2008 20:38

How do you know sue? (about Rose I mean, not about your dh watching Top Gear, I assume you can see him...?)

JackieNo · 05/04/2008 20:40

You could tell from the music.

JackieNo · 05/04/2008 20:40
hippipotami · 05/04/2008 20:46

Oh, I don't remember any music, was to busy sitting on teh edge of my seat...

But Rose did not look happy, she looked cross, is that the reason for hte ominous music?

Ow, I want to know what happens next....

Nymphadora · 05/04/2008 20:54

OOh the Rose stuff though and the rumours about Mickey coming back too not sure whether to SQeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee or

DaisySteiner · 05/04/2008 20:55

Did anyone else spot that Donna's grandad was the shopkeeper in Voyage of the Damned or was it just my eagle-eyed ds1?!

SqueeeeBaroo · 05/04/2008 20:56

Because for a start, Russell T Davies is a big dramatic girlie, and he does like his emotional manipulation. And it's a stone-cold certainty that the Doctor can't settle down happily with anyone for too long.

No, RTD is going to rip our hearts out by the end of this series. Sod.

Nymphadora · 05/04/2008 21:02

Daisy, apparantly Donnas dad (well the actor) died just before filming so they changed it to fit in Bernard Cribbins as Grandad.

DaisySteiner · 05/04/2008 21:04

Why did that mean they needed to change it to fit in Bernard Cribbins? (Can't really remember the end of VOTD to be honest!)
