Apparently someone on another forum (not sure which one, a friend paraphrased for me) pointed out that if they're moving Martha into Torchwood then they can get rid of Owen, because she's a doctor too; they can get rid of Jack, because she moons over the Doctor just as well; get rid of Tosh, because she's attractive and knows about alien tech; Ianto, because she can make her own tea, which means all they have to do is kill off Gwen and then Martha and the Weevil can drive around in the Torchwood All Terrain-mobile saving the world, which would make for a vastly more entertaining series...

SueBaroo · 23/08/2007 15:11

Ah, yes, the marvellously 'incognito' ENORMOUS BLACK 4X4 WITH FLASHING LIGHTS DOWN THE WINDSCREEN.

Honestly. Torchwood = The Sci-Fi version of Crossroads. Complete bollocks fanwank.

But, yes, I'll probably watch it.

[sad any-mention-of-the-Doctor geek emoticon]

Nymphadora · 24/08/2007 12:26

LOl briliant!

ernest · 25/08/2007 16:30

any one watching the hilarious dalek film on right now. the special effects are really, erm, special

Nymphadora · 25/08/2007 19:39

Oh I saw that was on , awful isn't it

ernest · 25/08/2007 21:03

the eye make up and the tin box daleks. hilarious. not to mention papier maché mountain

foxinsocks · 27/08/2007 18:05

we went to the Dr Who exhibition at Land's End last week

they had a cyberman there - he was ENORMOUS - I think the children were a bit frightened of him! They also had one of the daleks (popped up out of a dark hole - brilliant for the kids) which I thought looked a bit smaller in real life.

Just c&p from OG

The Royal Shakespeare Company have announced their 2008 line-up, which features David Tennant in two roles.

From July 24th until November 15th 2008, Tennant will be starring in the title role in Hamlet, alongside Patrick Stewart playing Claudius. Fans of the new series will also be excited to note that from October 2nd until November 15th 2008, Tennant will be playing Berowne in Love's Labour's Lost. Love's Labour's Lost was a major plot point in Series 3 episode The Shakespeare Code.

Think this means DT is leaving?

Though I will def be there

UnquietDad · 03/09/2007 15:16

Hey there all you Whovians - the news is out. After next year's series we get three more specials with David T in 2009, then a full Series 5 in Spring 2010!

official news here

I'm slightly worried about this - hope the kids's interest doesn't wane during the year of "Specials only".

Amazed to think my DD will be almost ready for Y6 by the time the confirmed Series 5 comes around!

serenity · 03/09/2007 15:23

Oh.

I don't know how I feel about this tbh. I'm really happy that there will be the specials (with DT!) and a fifth series, but I'm gutted that there won't be a series in 2009. A bit I think.

I bet one of the specials contains a regen.

UnquietDad · 03/09/2007 15:28

Makes you wonder what they're going to put on at Saturday teatime in Spring 2007... Whatever it is, it'll bring a certain expectation in terms of ratings!

I wonder if the Specials will even be on Saturdays?

UnquietDad · 03/09/2007 15:28

I mean Spring 2009

Nymphadora · 03/09/2007 18:13

Thats cos of DT doing RSC then. At least that means he is not leaving yet?

serenity · 05/09/2007 09:46

Oh I had fun at Legoland yesterday - spotted Dalek Sec on the HSBC building, and the Doctor, Martha and the Tardis at the bottom of the London Eye. When I looked harder, there was Captain Jack clinging to the back of the Tardis! Can't remember where I read about them, but thank you if it was someone on here, got some very sad and geeky photos....

saltire · 19/09/2007 10:50

Interview here in today's Daily Ranger
here with david Tennant, he talks about Dr Who

Fubsy · 08/11/2007 10:29

Has Kylie taken inspiration from her stint on DR Who for her new single?

serenity · 12/11/2007 17:51

Link? I have no idea what Kylies new single is I'm afraid, otherwise I'd find it myself.

Fubsy · 14/11/2007 12:58

Cant do a link, but its called Two Hearts

saltire · 14/11/2007 13:12

After weeks of wondering in what show I had seen the actor who plays Will Scarlett in Robin Hood, it finally dawned on me this morning.

here.

Fubsy · 15/11/2007 10:59

No!!

Chamomile · 16/11/2007 22:46

Why these rumours about John Simm coming back as the Doctor? I would dearly love to see him as the Master again but D.T must do a fifth series surely?

lemonaid · 16/11/2007 22:51

If DT weren't at least vaguely planning to come back as the Doctor it wouldn't make sense to be doing the specials-only year, I'd have thought. Always happy to see John Simm in anything, mind...

MerryXMoss · 13/12/2007 16:43

Crikey,

You go away from your favourite thread for a couple of months (to concentrate on asking lots of questions about the practical aspects of bringing up a baby) and you come back and...

...'tis like the Marie Celeste in here! Where is everyone?

SueBaRoomForAMincePie · 13/12/2007 17:19

oo, I'd forgotten all about this one. Only a few days to go until the big day. I'm all of a quiver...
