Dh was offered a job in Cardiff recently. I confess to being mildly more interested in that than in the Scotland job he was also offered, roffle

serenity · 11/07/2007 19:20

DT in a tux

JackieNo · 13/07/2007 12:26

On a bit of a Doctor Who tangent, but still vaguely related, this story says that in the BBC's autumn line-up: 'Doctor Who star David Tennant will star in a sitcom about learner drivers written by and co-starring Spaced actress Jessica Hynes (nee Stevenson).'

UnquietDad · 07/08/2007 11:08

This hasn't been bumped in a while!

Check out this brilliant montage

Every one of the 160 "classic" stories - I didn't realise until I saw this that something from every story exists, even if it just the briefest of clips.

It even has Sylvester McCoy doing a Hartnell speech at the end!

Manictigger · 07/08/2007 13:34

Ah Unquietdad, you're still here, can you help? I've been watching the recent Christopher Eccleston repeats on BBC3 and I still don't understand, what was the significance of Badwolf? I know there are references to it throughout the series and that it helps Rose find the Dr in the last episode but what was it all about? (I can't believe I've turned into a Dr Who geek? Do they still have Dr Who conventions? Will DT appear? Where can I get tickets? Please? Please? Please?!)

lemonaid · 07/08/2007 13:42

When Rose became All-Powerful TARDIS Woman she went back through time littering references to Bad Wolf all over the time-space continuum so that she and the Doctor would see them and be Warned. I'm not quite sure why she bothered, given that she knew they'd seen them and signally failed to work out what was going on, but maybe it was perky optimism...

UnquietDad · 07/08/2007 14:13

yup, what lemonaid said!
They do still have conventions - I don't know if Tennant will do any but he is more likely than Eccleston to do so. At the momwent he has such a heavy work schedule that it's more likely he'll do them in a year or two when he is likely to leave the role.

Manictigger · 07/08/2007 15:55

What was the warning about though? (I'm probably being stupid here - I have to watch each episode at least 3 times to understand it properly and this is only my second time round with these ones)

Actually, I quite enjoy looking for the bad wolf references each time. My favourite so far was that one where Badwolf tv was claiming that the face of Boe was pregnant.

sallysparrow · 07/08/2007 18:21

Well that makes sense if the Face of Boe is Jack, doesnt it

By the way, heard a clip of John Simm on the radio today, saying he would like to play the Master again!

(Yes please, yes pleeeeeeeeease)

serenity · 08/08/2007 00:57

Drove all the way to cardiff today (yesterday?) to see the Doctor Who exhibition (and go on a boat ride, and then have a nice Italian before driving home again) Took lots of pictures and have a fab new avatar (for the places that let you have them ) of the Shiney Mirror water statue thingy that sits over Torchwood HQ (yes I'm sure it has a name, but I'm far too tired to go and google it, I've driven 300 miles today!)

Manictigger · 08/08/2007 11:45

You're mad Serenity (although the thought of driving down to Cardiff when they're filming and trying to blag a part as an extra has crossed my mind. Then common sense i.e. dh kicked in)

serenity · 08/08/2007 12:41

Mad, but maybe not as mad as the woman I was chatting to before the boat trip, who had driven from Ipswich Although, they were staying over so maybe a bit more sensible than me. I wanted to ask her if she was an MNer, but bottled out

Ripeberry · 10/08/2007 10:22

The exhibition in Cardiff is still open? thought they had finished it ages ago.
Love going to daytrips to Cardiff as i used to live and work there and nothing exiting used to happen, then i leave to live in England and its now quite popular....typical.#
Usually take the train into Cardiff central, exit, via the back (opposite the AA insurance building), catch the bendy bus, the train ticket can be used(or it was last year).
Walk around the Bay a couple of times, catch the boat to the city center, walk to the station (only takes 10 mins) then catch the train home.
I do miss Cardiff.

I read an interview in the Daily Ranger today with Sophia myles, DT's girlfriend. I laughed when I read the bit where she said she has a Dr Who action figure that she takes to bed with her when David's not around!

Wonder if it's the 6inch version

serenity · 15/08/2007 15:09

Nah, 12 inch version....

serenity · 15/08/2007 15:14

Or even full size.....

UnquietDad · 15/08/2007 15:24

The 12-incher has "14 points of articulation", though...

JudgeJudyAndExecutioner · 15/08/2007 21:45

You guys should check out the Arts and Crafts thread where one clever lady has knitted a Dr Who DT doll for her dd, it's a fabulous piece of work!

Pixel · 16/08/2007 22:23

Hi all, has anyone been to Legoland recently? I went today for the first time and was looking at the model of London. When I got to Canary Wharf I was very pleased to see a tiny lego model of Dalek Sec! Someone who works there must be a fan .

JackieNo · 16/08/2007 22:30

I want a knitted dalek

sockmonkey · 17/08/2007 08:41

Has anyone else read that Ben Kingsley is going to play Davros?

AttilaTheMum · 17/08/2007 22:00

Had to share this which DH found on the scifi.com forum

JackieNo · 17/08/2007 22:38

Brilliant link, AttilatheMum. Had DH and me giggling. Thank you.

Nymphadora · 18/08/2007 09:28
