Was that a bible quote at teh end?
'looked on all that I made and it was good'(something like that?)

Whew glad to hear I'm not the only one who lets her Los watch Dr Who! I can remember episodes from the 1960s!! I also remember how scared I was.....but it was great! Safe with my Dad watching monsters!! Shame I haven't spkne to him in years

southeastastra · 23/06/2007 22:52

my son can act out every dr who regeneration and can name every dr who, is he gifted and talented!

UnquietDad · 23/06/2007 22:52

I used to watch with my dad. Mum disapproved - still does!

He's not well at the moment (is in a home) and I don't think he'll have been watching. Makes me sad, but at least last year and the one before there were a couple of episodes when three generations of the family watched together...

lemonaid · 23/06/2007 22:55

Barbarella is worse than I remembered. Perhaps it needs more wine? Or, more likely, the "Off" switch...

MrsWho · 23/06/2007 23:44

Anyone else at the cannibalising the TARDIS?

OP posts:
AttilaTheMum · 23/06/2007 23:46

It can probably regenerate, MrsWho.

lemonaid · 23/06/2007 23:47

That's just wrong. Sod shrinking people and having footballs invade the Earth, if you needed proof that the Master was evil there you have it...

Mustgotobedmustgotobedmustgotobed....

serenity · 24/06/2007 00:50

Shouldn't be reading this as I've only just got in, and being nice I'm not kicking DH off the PS2 yet

I need to see his now!!!!!!

lemonaid · 24/06/2007 00:53

You do, yes. What's another 45 minutes staying up when you could be watching the Doctor and the Master head-to-head?

[has another "blame the wine" moment but actually does go to bed this time]

serenity · 24/06/2007 00:57

I've had far far too much to drink because I'm sniggering at the idea of them being 'head-to-head' ........... haven't actually eaten anthing today but have drunk (for me) a rather large volume of alcohol.

lemonaid · 24/06/2007 09:06

Yes, that thought was my "blame the wine" moment, but reading back today in a state of sobriety I can see that I was not at ALL clear about that in my post...

Mossy · 24/06/2007 09:12

Wow how good was last night's ep? Pmsl at the jellybabies!

Do you think the Master's manicness (is that a word?) is in part down to the fact he's only recently regenerated?

Actually scrap that, it's eighteen months since he regnerated isn't it? Hmm.

I wonder why Jack said to Martha that they should save themselves; I do hope this isn't the same rather self-centred Jack we saw at the beginning (The Empty Child).

So excited about next week!

I also thought it was funny when the Doctor said, "what, did you think he'd be my long-lost brother".

beansprout · 24/06/2007 09:12

Can someone explain the cannibalising the TARDIS things? What does that mean and what are the implications?!

WideWebWitch · 24/06/2007 13:04

Loved the jellybabies and Jack saying "you too?" to Martha, fantastic!

Mossy · 24/06/2007 13:29

Beansprout my understanding is that he has turned the TARDIS into a paradox machine. Now I'm sure that in the last series, the Daleks emerged from a paradox machine (that black sphere) which enabled them to travel in the void. I might be wrong though.

So if that's the case, the Master is using the TARDIS to bring something to Earth that otherwise wouldn't be able to get here.

Aitch · 24/06/2007 14:37

ooooh, you lot, i'm so glad you're here to do all my thinking for me. good poiint about the paradox machine, mossy. i never pay attention to that level of detail.

Peachy · 24/06/2007 14:57

Mrs Who bible quote

Which isn't the first time genesis has apepared is it? (genesis arc anyone)

SoupDragon · 24/06/2007 15:02

"some fans persist to thi day in believing that the Master genuinely thought the Clangers were real!"

They are real!

lemonaid · 24/06/2007 15:04

Yes, but the Master didn't realise that, Soupy.

MrsWho · 24/06/2007 20:21

Is the Dr and Master choosing their names a new thing?

OP posts:
MrsWho · 24/06/2007 20:34

and LOL at Jack trying to find his TARDIS key amoungst a great big bunch so familiar!

OP posts:
AttilaTheMum · 24/06/2007 22:04

I've just watched it again, (I missed a bit yesterday when the phone rang) and noticed another nice touch, like the jelly babies - the cloister bell.

lemonaid · 24/06/2007 22:16

Wikipedia has interesting stuff on the choosing of titles.

JackieNo · 24/06/2007 22:31

Lemonaid - just catching up on this having watched the re-run of Saturday's episode - did you and your DH do the same as my DH and I did and go for the full sci-fi weekend mornings of old episodes of Doctor Who followed (or possibly preceded) by Blake's 7? We don't have UK Gold anymore, as we have freeview.
