I think Joseph Harker knows zilch about the record business. Just been asking dh about this (who does) who tells me that the people behind Niggaz With Attitude were all black. Dr Dre started Death Row records to promote rap and is a multi-millionaire. He is black, btw. The key producer Suge Knight is also black. It's a black thing.

Yes, but I think his point was, regardless of the 'street thugs' remark (I did say it had it's flaws) that musios are still not a representative demographic of all black people, and that post modern, ironic use of the term is more a marketing tool than genuine political statement. I think he has a point, that's all - doesn't exclude other points.

Anyone seen 'Fear of a Black Hat' which parodies the whole reclaim the n-word musio movement? Made by black people.
