The film is excellent but I'm not impressed with this series so far.

I liked and also didn’t like the final episode.

I adored Mlle Poitiers and hope she was very happy with her clock man. Smile

The ending just shows the two periods of time occurring simultaneously.

I think the girls escaped in some way, either down the other side of the rock or through some kind of time slip. Irma was not committed enough for the mystery to work for her - she clearly still found some aspects of real life rewarding! So she was left behind...

I actually rewatched episode 1&2 and Edith’s account does match up to what happened - they all slept then left her alone. She then sensed the wierd forces at work and ran down in hysterics.

Miss McCraw - not a clue what happened. I don’t think her role in things really made sense, but perhaps the un-fulfilled love aspect meant that the rock opened for her too.

Poor Sarah I think was killed by Mrs A in the woods.

I thought the production values were very high and the acting superb.

All the girls and teachers were very well characterised. Irma could have been very one dimensional, but she had huge touches of vulnerability and was very likeable in many ways. Natalie Dormer, say no more! The only one who didn’t stand out for me was Marion.

I think it was a time loop. They were all on the precipice as Ms Appleyard climbed up. They all heard it. I think they "saw" her and either leapt or ran. She was a future gost to them. That explains the younger girls hysteria too.

A fucked up future / past loop seems fitting.

No it doesn't and why did Edith say she might be having a baby, in the first or second episode? I don't get it at all Confused

She started her period on the day of the picnic and a teacher said she'd be able to have a baby now (or something along those lines) and she took it to mean she was going to have a baby

I gave up. Style over substance - some times the cinematography is more important to the director than the actual viewers' understanding / enjoyment of the show are to him/her.

I just finally got around to the last episode and really what a massive steaming pile of wankery that last episode of pseudo avant garde nonsense was - like a pretentious play.

It's a real shame as all the actresses were great in it and it felt like it was going somewhere

That's 4.5 hours of my life I'm not getting back
