Starts on Sunday on ITV1.

Love this show! Got it recorded so I can watch it after Love Island

HelenaDove · 15/07/2018 21:13

Peter Egan ............very good looking man. Had a bit of a crush since his Ever Decreasing Circles days.

SuburbanRhonda · 15/07/2018 21:17

I love Nicola Walker too, but I’m starting to get just a tiny bit irritated by that “smiling, not smiling” thing she does when she’s annoyed with someone.

I hope she doesn’t do it to much in this series.

ScoobyGangMember · 15/07/2018 21:24

Good luck with that, Suburban 😂. Love this programme though, been binge watching series 1 and 2.

Rogersnextdoublespartner · 15/07/2018 21:28

Could I watch series 3 without seeing the first 2 do you reckon?

Graphista · 15/07/2018 21:31

Love this show but as I rarely watch terrestrial/normal telly I almost missed it!

Love the actors. It's always very well written too.

Graphista · 15/07/2018 21:31

Rogers - yea absolutely - it's a different case each series.

CluedoAddict · 15/07/2018 21:32

Yes all the series are separate cases. The only thing you wouldn't get us the history of the detectives families.

HelenaDove · 15/07/2018 21:46

Well this series is going to be a hard watch.

Graphista · 15/07/2018 22:19

Felt so sorry for - the mum?

Personally I found the last series harder to watch, but it depends on your personal history surely.

Clawdy · 15/07/2018 22:19

It's already got me hooked. Those separate stories which will eventually link, and the wonderful pairing of Nicola and Sanjeev.

CoolCarrie · 15/07/2018 23:09

Great stuff, love it, all the actors are good , but it’s a pain the timings are shit, so we
watch Poldark on the tv, I watch THT on my iPad, then Unforgotten on itv+ 1 on tv.
You don’t need to watch the first two, but they are great, especially the second one, that was brilliant.
Sunny has two daughters, and Nicola has one son, and her widowed dad lives with them, although the son is in the US now, and the Dad has a girlfriend.

Graphista · 15/07/2018 23:22

I'd love to be watching the handmaids tale but due to circumstances in my personal life at the time I missed the first series and now won't have a clue. I'm hoping it'll be available to stream somewhere at some point, I was hoping it'd be on all4 prior to next series starting but it wasn't.

Poldark I don't fancy after hearing of some controversial scenes which I think I'd find upsetting.

I did Google unforgotten to see précis of characters, and in one article it said about a summer start being unusual. I've been bemoaning a dearth of decent drama lately. Certain series I follow having just ended or about to end.

British tv doesn't produce nearly enough good quality drama, most series are short not giving the viewer a real chance to get into either story or characters and can be dreadfully slow.

I prefer American made drama, some Australian to be honest.

I've enjoyed the heart guy - but again very short series. American series tend to be 20+ episodes whereas British are 6/8 rarely more than 15 even for series that are well known to be popular.

I think we need more investment in the uk.

HelenaDove · 15/07/2018 23:54

Yes Unforgotten usually starts around Sept/Oct

Violetroselily · 16/07/2018 07:38

Really enjoyed it

I love the mix of thr back stories, it makes it quite hard to pre empt or guess what may happen next

CoolCarrie · 16/07/2018 09:12

Graphista, Amazon have THT to watch, and it does stay very close to the book. You might find it on YouTube as well, same with Unforgotten.

i can't watch on sundays, but dh saw and found nicola walker irritating

Clawdy · 16/07/2018 11:43

I know some find her acting style annoying, but I absolutely love her, would watch her in almost anything. It's her voice, and those mesmerising eyes.

MrStarkIDontFeelSoGood · 16/07/2018 19:37

I don't know what on demand stuff you have Graph but I'm fairly sure series 1 of Handmaids is on All 4.

Unforgotten

Shaping up to be interesting suspects being

  1. The dodgy doctor
  2. The con man
  3. The artist
  1. The sister ?

Love the relationship between the leads

Clawdy · 16/07/2018 22:39

Can't see it being the sister, she wouldn't have given the police the identifying information about the broken bone over the phone if it was her, she would have kept quiet.

QueenOfTheAndals · 16/07/2018 22:53

Watched it this evening and it's a good slow burner. I was a bit distracted trying to figure out what I'd seen everyone in before!

OP posts:
HouseOfMouse · 16/07/2018 23:22
  1. The quiz host?
charityhallet · 16/07/2018 23:31

Loved ep1, but desperate to binge watch!

Did anyone else notice the time continuity issue? When she turned off the iPad on Skype to her son, it said 12.38 (or similar). The clock on the wall said 8.10pm (or similar).

Graphista · 17/07/2018 00:01

Don't have Amazon, have Netflix, terrestrial streaming (iplayer etc) and uktv play.

I looked on all4 when s2 of THHT was starting planning to binge s1 and then watch s2 but it wasn't available - I thought all4 had loads!

Wait was that the sister broke down at the end I thought that was the mum? But actually makes sense to be sister as why she'd not know about plate etc, so where are the parents? Deceased?

Yea I think the suspects are meant to be

1 the dr (he looks well suss doesn't he? Very controlling. Allegation of something? Not an actor I'm familiar with)

2 the salesman (also seems a nasty piece of work - I think people have forgotten neil morrissey can play right nasty psycho quiet types
