Anyone else counting the hours 'til Friday? Saga banged up and stitched up for the murder of her evil mama; how will she cope? Come on Henrik, save our girl!

Harsh Sad

Doyoumind · 01/06/2018 21:37

Totally saw that coming though.

colouringinagain · 01/06/2018 21:55

Still confused between all these men

Xmasbaby11 · 01/06/2018 22:30

I'm confused about all the men too.

I'm finding it very dark, especially the dad who accidentally kills his daughter. Very hard to watch.

Also finding Saga slightly unbelievable in her matter of fact, unfeeling discussion of her pregnancy/child. But Maybe that's realistic and we're just unused to seeing it?

MrsFring · 01/06/2018 22:39

Also confused. Saga's behaviour is alienating me for the first time, it's stretching credulity that Henrik wants to pursue their relationship when he gets so little back. Maybe there'll be some breakthrough between them as she seems to be heading for a crisis/catharsis in her therapy?

Her last partner left because he wasn't getting anything back so it could be a recurring theme. I like Henrik though so hope it goes somewhere.

HollowTalk · 02/06/2018 16:12

I've found some of this series absolutely heartbreaking. Saga's expression as she saw she was cut out of her family photos made me cry. And her mother left those things for her, before committing suicide which was meant to look as though Saga killed her... What a vicious thing to do, to leave a box of photos and memories of the sister, while destroying every piece of Saga's past. It's starting to look as though Saga doesn't have Asperger's but more a mental health issue connected to her awful past.

And when the guy killed his own daughter - his own living family - oh god, what a terrible thing! He will be on the rampage, now.

Saga's baby - she daren't let herself love the baby. She's frightened of being her mum, isn't she? And yet you can see she loves it enough to keep it alive and to give it to Henrik...

Saga and sex... do you think that's the only time she lets herself be physically close to anyone? That she can accept hugs and embraces then because it's sex, not love? She mustn't have ever had a hug as a child, unless it was from her sister. I always feel if she was hugged, she'd have a breakdown.

HollowTalk · 02/06/2018 16:17

Please don't tell me the ending of the series, if you've already seen it!

I've been thinking about the ending. We've been told there is no series 5. Anyone fancy speculating on what will happen at the end of the series?

My thoughts are:

  • Saga won't end up in prison. That's already happened.
  • Saga won't end up killed - that would mean someone is stronger than her - she's the heroine, so it'll have to be her overcoming them rather than vice versa
  • Saga won't commit suicide - I know a lot of people have seen the whole series and have said it's the best yet; I can't believe I wouldn't have heard about it if Saga dies, particularly if she killed herself
  • Henrik's children will return to him - I have to be convinced of that - it would be too sad otherwise
  • Henrik will adopt the older girls - they should be happy!
  • Saga will struggle to stay with Henrik if he has a family/their own child living with him. Her background has been so damaging that I think she wouldn't be able to trust herself with a family

Any other ideas?

Gwenhwyfar · 02/06/2018 16:34

"it's stretching credulity that Henrik wants to pursue their relationship when he gets so little back"

You don't read the Relationships board then?
We wouldn't find it surprising if the sexes were reversed.

Gwenhwyfar · 02/06/2018 16:35

"Saga and sex... do you think that's the only time she lets herself be physically close to anyone? "

Yes, this has always been clear.

HollowTalk · 02/06/2018 17:17

So when Saga says she'll visit him for sex, she's really wanting to be held but can't bring herself to say or even think that?

HollowTalk · 02/06/2018 17:18

I think Henrik can see the woman beneath all the pain. That's the person he loves.

colouringinagain · 02/06/2018 19:59

Hollow I like your optimism but I can't see how this can be definitively the last season if Saga (who I love) remains alive and free

HollowTalk · 02/06/2018 20:08

Oh don't say that!

She could be headhunted by another police force and leave her baby with Henrik.

Surely we couldn't have not heard about it if she died? It would be huge in Bridge circles!

I can't see they'll have prison again... though I suppose if she murders someone then she'd be banged up and we'd know what she'd be going through, given we saw it at the start of the series. If she dies then I don't know what I'll do! Suicide would be the worst - I hate to even think of it. She's too real to me, clearly.

colouringinagain · 02/06/2018 20:19

I know Hollow I'm very attached to her too. So much pain in her face.

HollowTalk · 02/06/2018 20:38

She's incredibly vulnerable; I think I respond to her as though she's a child, in a way. Such great acting - have you seen her interviewed where she's talking as herself and then the interviewer says "Be Saga" and her whole face just changes?

colouringinagain · 02/06/2018 21:19

Yes definitely to the vulnerability, while her aspergers/trauma means in other ways she's fearless.

No I haven't seen that, my df has recommended it too. YouTube?

PickAChew · 03/06/2018 00:56

Prison again would breAk her. Too much of the hell of other people.

cornishstripes · 03/06/2018 07:29

The scene where the danish boss tries to go on a date after losing her husband and ends up watching their wedding video was beautifully done.

I can’t believe the abusive taxi driver has turned up again

Slartybartfast · 03/06/2018 10:16

yes what is the link with the abusive taxi driver

Slartybartfast · 03/06/2018 10:17

I miss Martin

BeyondSceptical · 03/06/2018 10:20

Glad it's not just me, slarty. I even keep forgetting he isn't in it anymore!

BeyondSceptical · 03/06/2018 10:22

I had a thought last night while watching it. If saga has just found out she is pregnant, and it ends with her with a child (or henrik alone with their child), there must be about an eight month period to be covered in the remaining three (or was it four?) episodes. Seems a lot.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 03/06/2018 10:51

I've just made a gross error of judgement - I read a Swedish newspaper synopsis (in English obvs) of Series 4 Blush, so I know what the denouement is. Better skulk off into a corner for the next four weeks...

cornishstripes · 03/06/2018 11:00

They always have the option of a flash forward in the last episode. I can’t see it all ending happily, it seems too much of a leap for Saga, I reckon she means what she says about handing the baby completely over.

Look at what happened in episode 1 with the female friendship!
