Anyone else counting the hours 'til Friday? Saga banged up and stitched up for the murder of her evil mama; how will she cope? Come on Henrik, save our girl!

I remember Grin. There was so much warmth between them but, you're right, a weak man.

It's a wonder she didn't say it in front of his wife!

ToffeeUp · 18/06/2018 16:55

The Icelandic guy from Trapped ( can't remember his name) was a bit of a cuddly bear

HollowTalk · 18/06/2018 16:57

When Jonas was in Borgen he was gorgeous, imo.

VanillaSugar · 18/06/2018 17:36

My DH models himself (looks wise) in Troels. I'm not complaining!!

OK, I have another theory. Going back to the beginning and all that.

August was killed because of Martyn's infidelity. The guy lost his wife and son so he took August's life as recompense.

So, is it strange Granny? A sort of tit for tat against Henrik? Which certainly points the finger to a stand off with Astrid (we're all assuming she is one of the daughters so let's run with this),

In series 1, Saga couldn't lie (about August being dead) which is why Martyn shot the guy. So, she is faced with another situation where by lying, she risks another death. Given that she feels she has lost Henrik, I certainly feel that she's going to take the bullet for Astrid. Sad

Haven't googled, dare not, hope I'm wrong.

I have loved these Bridge threads. Father Brown, much as GK Chesterton is a genius, isn't quite the same.

MrsFring · 18/06/2018 20:32

You're married to a Troels looky likey? Get in! Mine is more of a knackered Hans ( with two hands ). I like your theory, interesting...

Should we read anything into the forthcoming auction of Saga's iconic Porsche (being sold on 13 July, all proceeds to the charity Water aid).
There is something so final about it all, I wish I did not fear a bleak ending,,,,

HollowTalk · 18/06/2018 21:37

They've said there won't be another series. I think they were right to stop while it's great. They said they couldn't stand people saying, "I watched it up until series 4, then it just got boring" or whatever. It's a brave director who'll stop in time.

AlecOrAlonzo · 18/06/2018 21:44

My dh looks a bit like a less grey Martin. Big and twinkly. Less of a shagger though (except with me, obviously!).

He's also away on Friday so I'll have to wait until he's back before I can watch this week. Argh!

Who else would be the mole if not Jonas? One of the techy bods? How are Sweden managing without their techy bod actually?

B/K seemed to have a bit of a fixation on Henrik. I still think he's Up To No Good.

HollowTalk · 18/06/2018 22:12

I think we saw another side to Henrik this week. I know Saga was in the wrong in the way she dealt with her pregnancy but he was really nasty. Anyone could see the stress she was under and he massively added to that. I wondered what kind of husband he was.

Presumably, as his wife disappeared six years ago she won't be linked to these events. Can anyone remember how she left him - did she and the girls disappear without a note? Was a kidnapping suspected? What about her bank accounts etc? I imagine we were told something at the start of series 3, but I just can't remember now.

IWantMyHatBack · 18/06/2018 22:35

Wondering if the leak is Henrik - accidentally spilling too much at his NA meetings?

MrsFring · 18/06/2018 22:35

I think he said that it was just an ordinary morning, they kissed goodbye and that was that, nothing unremarkable. I assume that, given the thickness of the file, accounts and phone records were gone through.

I agree about the change in tone from Henrik, I hated all the eye-rolling about Saga's quirks- he would have smiled indulgently last week! I asked Dh ( knackered Hans ) about Henrik's reaction to the abortion, he thought Henrik was entirely justified and would have hated Saga for it. Hmmm.

IWantMyHatBack · 18/06/2018 22:38

Saga's Porsche auction made me sad. Think it's just a definite end to the series. I refuse to believe that Saga will be killed off.

HollowTalk · 18/06/2018 22:54

Can someone remind me about the leak? How do we know there is one? What has been the impact of the leak?

It's so bloody complicated - I feel like I'm juggling hundreds of balls in the air!

TimeIhadaNameChange · 19/06/2018 09:11

How about this (my musings whilst showering this morning):

At the beginning, Saga was alone. Didn't really fit in, only had Hans. By series 4 she's managed to form relationships with Martyn, Henrik, and Lillian - all Danes, and is much better connected (until things break down with Henrik, at least). S1Ep 1 starts with her driving from Sweden towards Denmark, towards her new life (as it were). At one point she's wanting to move into Henrik's house there.

My current theory is that she solves the current case, but at a terrible price. Along the way she makes a mistake (and with her present mental state I don't think that's unlikely) that results in the death of either Astrid (after she's been proved to be Henrik's daughter) or one of the Copenhagen police. This makes her, very much, persona non grata that side of the bridge, and thus she's seen, at the end, driving back to Sweden, very much alone.

Thoughts?

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 19/06/2018 09:49

Ooh a symbolic ending would work better than killing her off. She could have had a life but ends up back where she started, alone. Sad but realistic.

HollowTalk · 19/06/2018 10:23

But that wouldn't prevent another series. And at the end of series 2 she was alone, too.

I don't think Astrid will die, though I think her life will be at risk. He's lost one child and his wife; there wouldn't be the impact if Astrid died. I think Henrik or Sagan will save Astrid's life at the cost of their own.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 19/06/2018 10:28

I forgot my other idea which follows on, which was, that as a result of the above Saga leaves the police either of her own will or is forced out.

HollowTalk · 19/06/2018 10:31

Yes, I think she'll leave the police (if she stays alive.) I don't think I've ever felt so much for a character on TV - I think she's going to stay in our imagination long after the end of the series.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 19/06/2018 11:12

I don't think she would be forced out, it's not really how they seem to do things in Sweden, maybe demoted. It is all pointing to something awful isn't it? Argh.

HollowTalk · 19/06/2018 11:22

And yet... when I've spoken to friends who've seen the whole series, they say it was the best series yet. Surely they would say it was really upsetting, if Saga died? I think she could do a fantastic death scene that we'd never recover from!

glamorousgrandmother · 19/06/2018 17:32

The new Radio Times doesn't give spoilers as such but the article by Alison Graham doesn't suggest to me that she will die. I'm sure someone will though.

MrsFring · 19/06/2018 19:18

The plot will have to be pretty good to outdo series 3 imho. The pace was breathtaking and I felt real pity for the murderer, no mean feet given the horrific crimes. There was humour too, less unrelenting noir.

VanillaSugar · 19/06/2018 20:26

Maybe Henrik, Saga and Astrid move to the UK to set up a Hygge B&B in Shetland. And then......

colouringinagain · 19/06/2018 21:45

I was wondering if they will discover that Astrid is Henrik's daughter , and her life be put at risk, and Saga saves Astrid (for Henrik) but dies in the process. Cheerful stuff I know!
