It feels so long ago that poor Weaselly Quinn met his maker that I had to Wiki what happened last season. We were left with an easily-led Madame President, an assassination plot, Saul in prison, Quinn dead in a Jeep and Carrie's distraught face working on overtime.

But it's back! Feb 11th US which I reckon means Feb 18th UK (although last year Channel 4 didn't tell us till about a minute before kick-off, despite my pathetic emailing). . Yay!

Im glad madame pres is gone , she was nothing but trouble.

Hassled · 06/05/2018 22:21

But we weren't protecting the presidency, we were protecting democracy. That's what Keane realised at the end.

I mean we weren't protecting her presidency.

Coco she managed to pull 2 wigs out of nowhere last week, so a packet of Garnier was probably a piece of cake!

mizu · 06/05/2018 22:22

What an ending! Poor Carrie!

Whichoneisit · 06/05/2018 22:24

DH tells me that there is going to be another season but that it will be the last?

Incredible acting!

Cocolepew · 06/05/2018 22:37

I loved this series, It was one of my favourites out of them all.

Hassled · 06/05/2018 22:44

I keep thinking of Frannie. Mum's going away to work - seven months later, Mum returns completely out of her mind and the previous shite parenting looks like the halycon days.

polkadotwellies · 06/05/2018 22:47

Aw I'm sad it's ended. Took a while to build the tension this series but thought a good ending. Glad noone I like died. Saul obs loves Carrie swapping that prisoner.

polkadotwellies · 06/05/2018 22:51

I also like VP. Think he's got some common sense. I find him strangely attractive.

Noone seemed to care that guy in Saul's team made plan A fail either leading to Carries detention. Or Paleys assistant.

ZilphasHatpin · 06/05/2018 22:57

Yes poor frannie was told Mum was going away for a few weeks! It’s been 7 months and she still won’t be able to see her yet while Carrie stands no chance of recognising her.

When Simone was poking Saul in the car about leaving Carrie behind I was hearing his internal voice saying “I will never leave Carrie behind”. He never will. Saul is good. (Yes coco! He is!) Grin) He loves Carrie. He is totally to blame for her destruction, sure, but he loves her. She is too important to him.

Also, it’s time Brody came back from the dead please. He needs to come and rescue Carrie from insanity like she rescued him from the heroin addiction. He’ll have to do it covertly of course. The world thinks he’s a dead terrorist.

ZilphasHatpin · 06/05/2018 23:00

I’m not sure I understand Senator Paleys involvement. Was he working with the Russians? Or just collateral damage?

Btw was Carrie operating as a private agent? Or a government one?

Cocolepew · 06/05/2018 23:02

I have to be honest I didn't get too many baddie vibes from Saul this series.
But he uses Carrie when it suits him.

HalleLouja · 06/05/2018 23:16

Paley got in trouble as his chief of staff told the Russian Ambassador about trying to get Simone which led to the whole hoo ha of Carrie getting caught etc.

HalleLouja · 06/05/2018 23:17

My DH and I high fived each other when the VP put Paley in his place. Alas no more Welly Boot he will probably follow Elizabeth where ever she goes next.

ZilphasHatpin · 06/05/2018 23:27

Ah yes! Thanks halle! I suspect the VP also divulged his conversation with Paley to the president.

ScoobyGangMember · 06/05/2018 23:35

Cheers here when the VP told Paley to fuck off. Great finale. Such a sad ending for Carrie.

Plumsofwrath · 07/05/2018 01:09

Apparently the next season is the last one. I read an article recently about how the writing team, Saul and Carrie consult with an actual ex-CIA station head before they start filming each season. That’s the person they credit with all the prescience of each season.

Lweji · 07/05/2018 01:22

They actually have a spy camp with the CIA before each season.

Travelledtheworld · 07/05/2018 07:34

There used to be a great analysis of each weeks episode by a former CIA operative in an online offshoot of the Wall Street Journal.
But they haven't run it for a couple of seasons.
It was fascinating.

SandlakeRd · 07/05/2018 10:00

I wondered if next season may end up as an is she or isn’t she re visit of the original Brodie storyline but with Carrie as the potential turned agent? Great crazy eyes acting from Claire Danes!

theladylovescupcakes · 07/05/2018 10:24

I have a day off today, house to myself, and I'm enjoying the final episode with a nice breakfast. I'm on the edge of my seat! Shock

EmNetta · 07/05/2018 13:14

So many people assuring us of wonderful ending, I'm left wondering why? As heroine's left braindamaged, maybe one has to be American (or very politically-minded) to be left cheering that POTUS resigned in favour of "democracy."
I'm left feeling disappointed, and although I'll probably watch final episodes, am not expecting much anymore.
