It feels so long ago that poor Weaselly Quinn met his maker that I had to Wiki what happened last season. We were left with an easily-led Madame President, an assassination plot, Saul in prison, Quinn dead in a Jeep and Carrie's distraught face working on overtime.

But it's back! Feb 11th US which I reckon means Feb 18th UK (although last year Channel 4 didn't tell us till about a minute before kick-off, despite my pathetic emailing). . Yay!

Thanks beguilingeyes I googled to see what he was like then. And now think that I will have with me all day the sight of him with his kit off

He seemed to have an ordinary neck back then

Fiderer · 23/04/2018 06:40

Thankfully the Franny Maggie Carrie triangle is shelved. More of a square really if we include the oddly angular faced BIL.

Hope the Scooby gang are in on the extraction. I like the fact that despite Saul being the NSA & having hordes of people working for him, he has the secret club with Max, Sandy & geek man. Means we don't get the politicising & backstabbing guff. Enough of that with Keane.

Wellington seems to have dissolved into a jelly.

Also hope the mission doesn't last more than 6 weeks. Didn't Maggie say at the hearing that the effects of the ECT would wear off then? Am (as ever tbh) fed up of manic wobbly lipped Carrie.

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 23/04/2018 07:03

"Also hope the mission doesn't last more than 6 weeks."

Didn't they say something about needing hard evidence of Russian involvment in 2 days? Before the next step in whatever it is the VP is doing (autocorrect wanted to make that VPL)

Keane doesn't trust the VP, and I think she made the wrong call there. I still have my doubts about Ken Junior - I wonder if he was one of Dar's plotters, before he lost control of the plot to the Russians

Fiderer · 23/04/2018 08:50

Ah yes, 2 days. My annoyance at the possible return of manic wobbly lip Carrie has evidently affected my (sluggish) attention span Grin

HalleLouja · 23/04/2018 10:10

Well done to the script writers for making sure Franny has some more sanity in her life and Carrie can do what she likes and not worry about the impact on her.

The President is nuts. They make her seem pretty sane some of the time then drop in a clanger. Poor Welly boots he can't make her see sense.

Lweji · 23/04/2018 12:33

I suspect we can look forward to defenestrations. We've already had poisonings, and good old shoot outs.

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 23/04/2018 13:39

Defenestration is one of my favourite words

Optimist1 · 23/04/2018 13:44

So good to see Carrie and Saul setting off on a new op, but there are only two more episodes to go! Sad

Hassled · 23/04/2018 21:29

I like the word defenestration too. The Latin for window is fenestram, so there's a nice tidy link there. I'm trying to think of other interesting ways baddies might die - possibly someone needs to get their arm chopped off by a helicopter blade in homage to vintage ER.

Don't forget goodies can die too.
Hanging and stabbing come to mind.

Optimist1 · 24/04/2018 07:23

I've always thought spontaneous human combustion was an interesting way to die - would that fit the bill, Hassled?

Hassled · 24/04/2018 20:22

Spontaneous human combustion is also acceptable, though sadly out of fashion these days (it used to be more of a thing in my youth).

Which goodie is going to die? My money's on Wellington (if he is indeed a goodie).

Not Max, I hope. I've just had a gut feeling he will go.

TamzinGrey · 24/04/2018 22:04

Have you seen the movie Yentl? Very young Mandy Patinkin. He's delicious.

He was particularly lovely in "Dead Like Me" - best black comedy series ever.

Lweji · 24/04/2018 22:45

Speaking of movies, I've just come across "The Death of Stalin" with the lovely ferret.

Hassled · 25/04/2018 21:09

I've been meaning to see The Death of Stalin for ages - knowing that the lovely ferret features is now even more of a motivation.
And I loved Dead Like Me - it was both funny and heartbreaking.

Because of this page I googled Mandy when he was young. So weird seeing him without a beard.

And I learnt what defenestration means.

I think it needs a love story or something. Missing a bit of sexual tension.

Hoping there is a twist coming soon...

Lweji · 26/04/2018 07:36

I suppose the love story this time is on the baddies' side.

Octave777 · 26/04/2018 18:30

O yeah with Simone. We only really got to see a snapshot when she was boarding the plane. Could have shown their story more mabey and had tension of is he using her or will he save her ect ect.

Russian is cute. Could have been a hero within the enemy to conflict us: saving her against the bosses wishes. Coming out now about how they met just before series nearly ending.

extinctspecies · 26/04/2018 18:32

Well anyone Carrie has sex with is doomed.

MamOfTwo · 26/04/2018 18:53

Why don't people spontaneously combust these days? I think I had a book as a kid that had a picture of a pair of shoes in a smouldering pile of ashes, I remember being both fascinated and freaked out.

keepondreaming · 26/04/2018 20:53

Why don't people spontaneously combust these days?

Less nylon knickers I reckon!

NellMangel · 26/04/2018 23:13

Yay for Franny being tucked away safely in suburbia. I was finding the very mention of her name extremely irritating. GET ON WITH THE SPYING.

Playing Homeland bingo...yet to see mad wall display of post its and red wool created by Carrie in pyjamas.

Her burglar/nurse/electroshock buddy is fit.

Lweji · 28/04/2018 01:25

Did you know that Claire was pregnant during filming?

GhostsToMonsoon · 28/04/2018 09:11

I never would have guessed that Lweji.
