It feels so long ago that poor Weaselly Quinn met his maker that I had to Wiki what happened last season. We were left with an easily-led Madame President, an assassination plot, Saul in prison, Quinn dead in a Jeep and Carrie's distraught face working on overtime.

But it's back! Feb 11th US which I reckon means Feb 18th UK (although last year Channel 4 didn't tell us till about a minute before kick-off, despite my pathetic emailing). . Yay!

I have been musing. What is Dante wasn't a baddie? What if he has been alongside Simone in her travels because he was trying to turn her? And then went unorthodox (ie turned to Carrie) because he realised the threat could not be contained within the system because of other subverted people? And got some of the actions erong because he misunderstood the extent of the plot?

ZilphasHatpin · 06/05/2018 21:03

Thought Simone was supposed to be in the safest place yet the door glass just smashes and it's not locked.

They hadn’t reckoned on Carrie Mathison, wig toting, ledge teetering, spy extraordinaire. Grin

Can’t believe we are on final episode. It has gotten better but I have to say that Yevgeny has been nowhere near as scary as previous baddies. But very nice on the eye. Although Abu Nazir wasn’t half bad either.

Whichoneisit · 06/05/2018 21:05

Here we go 😁

ZilphasHatpin · 06/05/2018 21:17

I can’t cope with the tension! I’m watching through my fingers!

Cocolepew · 06/05/2018 21:17

Im shouting at the telly.
DH is like this Hmm

keepondreaming · 06/05/2018 21:18

"Fuck off arsehole!"

That's it Saul, that's being a great diplomat!!

Whichoneisit · 06/05/2018 21:18

Why didn’t they chuck him out of the van?!

Travelledtheworld · 06/05/2018 21:32

So much action in one episode! I am a nervous wreck.

Cocolepew · 06/05/2018 21:35

Holy moly

keepondreaming · 06/05/2018 21:38

Who else shouted "YES" when the VP/Pres told Senator Paley where to go?

Lweji · 06/05/2018 21:40

I thought that was quite nasty of the President. No compassion for his family, even.

dancemom · 06/05/2018 21:47

This is a great episode!!

Cocolepew · 06/05/2018 21:48

Yes me keepon Grin
Pres doesn't seem particularly grateful to VP.

Cocolepew · 06/05/2018 21:49

Piss off seems a very british saying.
I don't remember hearing it in an American show before.

ZilphasHatpin · 06/05/2018 21:50

Me too keep! VP for pres!! Grin

President is an ungrateful sod!!

Hassled · 06/05/2018 21:51

Me too - good old VP. I like him (which almost certainly means he'll turn out to be a baddie).
Good to have a reminder of how Carrie is good at her job.

ZilphasHatpin · 06/05/2018 21:57

Yes it was very easy to start thinking of Carrie as bloody useless when all we were seeing was her being a shit parent but she is a kick ass, relentless spy. Imagine what state the US would be in without her? Shock Grin

Travelledtheworld · 06/05/2018 21:59

I like the VP too. He's got a lovely face.
He reminds me of my favourite uncle.

keepondreaming · 06/05/2018 22:04

So...last 10 mins... what's gonna happen??????????

Travelledtheworld · 06/05/2018 22:15

Wow. That was sad.
I like the Cold War style prisoner exchange on the bridge, but what an ending !

ZilphasHatpin · 06/05/2018 22:16
Sad

Carries work just keeps destroying her. Then she has to go away and rebuild herself back to being a functional human being again and then the bug is back. She has to work again, to ultimately be destroyed again. It’s a horrible cycle.

Hassled · 06/05/2018 22:18

That was all very Le Carre, with Saul as Smiley waiting for Karla to cross into West Berlin. Fantastic.

And amazing acting all round, especially Madame President. She was so damn good.

ZilphasHatpin · 06/05/2018 22:18

Do we know if there is another season?

BTW I hope Claire Danes is exceptionally wealthy. She is a fucking genius.

Cocolepew · 06/05/2018 22:18

The only thing that spoilt that episode was that Carrie didn't have any roots after 7 months.

Whichoneisit · 06/05/2018 22:19

Guess they had to get rid of Keane but can’t help feel disappointed. The whole series was about protecting her presidency. We lost Quinn. And now Carrie has lost the plot too! All for Elizabeth to stand down.
