It's that Homeland time of year again

It feels so long ago that poor Weaselly Quinn met his maker that I had to Wiki what happened last season. We were left with an easily-led Madame President, an assassination plot, Saul in prison, Quinn dead in a Jeep and Carrie's distraught face working on overtime.

But it's back! Feb 11th US which I reckon means Feb 18th UK (although last year Channel 4 didn't tell us till about a minute before kick-off, despite my pathetic emailing). . Yay!

Knew Coco would turn up with heretic anti-St-Saul-ism. It's quite the reunion Grin

Fiderer · 09/01/2018 02:52

Which, I meant to say, Hassled , is no reason to encourage her.

Cocolepew · 09/01/2018 07:37
Shock
Fiderer · 09/01/2018 16:04

Having 84 things to do and no inclination to do any of them, I was looking up old Homeland threads to remember why we called Carrie's German bf Jonas "Angel".

Got side tracked, we had loads of threads, v detailed, intensive analyses, masses of "What if/Who/Why/When?" posts. Can't remember half of it now, so that's my next 3 weeks gone.

Best thread title was "Ming the Merciless reveals a secret love for ferrets" by ZilphasHatpin.

busyboysmum · 10/01/2018 12:53

I loved the weasly Peter Quinn although I do know what you mean. I thought his character was completely wasted.

Will still watch though.

ThursdayLastWeek · 12/01/2018 20:28

I was starting to think there was no Homeland and no thread this new year. The future was bleak but now it is bright Star

Did Quinn die at the end? I don’t seem to remember

ThursdayLastWeek · 12/01/2018 20:32

OMG THAT TRAILER LOOKS FRICKING AMAZING

Fiderer · 12/01/2018 20:34

Quinn died. Nobly. Wasn't his sleek clever self any more though and I wouldn't have wanted him limping through another series all tortured and ailing.

diddl · 13/01/2018 00:35

Looks goos from the trailer.

Can't remember much of the last series.

Apart from Quinn, obvs!

ShoutyMcShoutFace · 16/01/2018 21:08

Yay homeland, I just saw the trailer and came straight here to look for the thread!

Poor Quinn. He is at peace.

Can't wait to see what trump-isms they put into Elizabeth Keane. Wonder where frannie fits into things now too. I know it's only snippets of Carrie in the trailer but she looks a bit child-free on the garage treadmill. Did she get frannie back last season before the finale?

keepondreaming · 17/01/2018 13:00

Can't wait!
Homeland is the perfect end to any weekend, finishing the wine and the snacks hanging around.
Missing Peter and Brodie of course but hoping for some new love interest(s) Wink

AmazingDisgrace · 18/01/2018 15:43

mapmybum S6 is on Netflix now

Lweji · 19/01/2018 20:53

I've just watched the trailer. Placemarking.

BitOfFun · 19/01/2018 21:55

Can't wait!

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 28/01/2018 14:04

I've just binged and watched all of series 6 on Netflix (over that last week, but most of it yesterday) so now all caught up.

(Only really posting so this jumps up TIO when there's a confirmed transmission date).

But I think that neither Saul nor Dar has a moral compass, Dar has essentially succeeded as Eminence Grise, as all the things he wanted the President to do have come to pass. Is there a link between him and new COS?

ihatethecold · 28/01/2018 14:47

When will it air in the UK?

Hassled · 28/01/2018 18:50

Lovely to see so many fellow Homeland nutters. Re airing in the UK - I don't know for sure but I think 18th Feb. It's the 11th in the US and we're usually a week behind.

In the meantime I've found an irritating Watch Mojo video. It would be much better without the voiceover which is so persistent and annoying I want to set Quinn on whoever's voice it is. "This scene truly brought out the terror in terrorism" - FFS. I think they have #1 right, though, at least.

Presumably, Dar will be the key to sorting it all out. He said he'd set something in motion which he could not control. We see more of that 'something' happening, but then he gets together with Saul, Max and Carrie to save the day. Max tackles all the cyber nasties, Carrie gurns for her country, and Saul and Dar are sprung from prison by Mossad. Who then rule the USA....

AllPowerfulLizardPerson · 09/02/2018 07:20

I've now seen a trailer broadcast on the telly (first time I've seen it there)

Starts 18th

Lweji · 09/02/2018 07:44

Ah, and here I was upset that it was on the 16th here in Portugal.
Will have to sit on my hands for two days.

Hassled · 11/02/2018 19:31

Only one more week for the UK! Yay! But this means I'm going to have to have an iron will and not read reviews/spoilers from those who are seeing it tonight, and as I have the self-control of my kitten that's going to be a challenge.

Marking place

mapmybum · 13/02/2018 17:49

Yay! Catching up on Season 6 finally on Netflix. Can anyone link to the thread on here please?

I'm on the app and it's not proving easy!

keepondreaming · 13/02/2018 18:08

Grrr. How silly am I?

Just realised I've asked family to dinner on Sunday. Hoping I can get them fed, watered and out by 9pm.

keepondreaming · 13/02/2018 18:10

@mapmybum Di you mean this thread itself? This is the link (hopefully):
