J'adore this series. All the old faithful's are back in action.

Can't wait. Saturday 30th December. Channel Four.

The taking papers out of the file was acceptable because they hadn't been officially filed yet and they put the operation in danger. Lying under oath was not Roban as we know him. He can argue duress and stress possibly though. Mind you, Josephine has taken justice into her own hands recently so she can't be too indignant about the case - no crime was committed by Marchard.

LooseAtTheSeams · 30/01/2018 10:19

I really felt for Tintin. And he doesn't even know yet just how bad things are!
I suspect the person who will be hardest on Roban is himself but Marchand is so reprehensible. Huge irony that the good judge was saved by his own lie and the kind of legal attitude he normally fights against - though the defence barrister was doing his job. I dread to think what we've got in store on Saturday!

wowfudge · 30/01/2018 12:02

The only way I think Gilou can get out of this is to say he acted as a maverick to try to get someone involved to show their hand. He needs to say Laure didn't know anything about it or he convinced her it was the right thing to do or she's implicated. Or something else and they just pray the video never comes to light.

ReelingLush18 · 30/01/2018 12:13

The only way I think Gilou can get out of this is to say he acted as a maverick to try to get someone involved to show their hand. That's a very good suggestion BUT how would he e

ReelingLush18 · 30/01/2018 12:14

Oops didn't finish that post Blush

...explain how he no longer has the gold bars because he put them back?

wowfudge · 30/01/2018 12:36

Quite - who knows? And we've been led to believe the phone shop guy who was an informant was murdered because of the gold. Actually - maybe it will come out that that wasn't the reason he was killed and Gilou will be off the hook for that.

wowfudge · 30/01/2018 12:39

He didn't put them back - he put them with the gold the informant guy was hiding in his freezer

ReelingLush18 · 30/01/2018 12:43

But that amounts to putting them back because they are back with Drissa now? Yes I had to laugh when Gilou was putting them in what looked like a fish finger packet in the freezer. He won't be able to prove (for all sorts of reasons) that he didn't steal it though, will he? Didn't Gilou and Laure break and enter (rather than with a search warrant) the informant's flat to deposit the two gold bars that he'd had stolen from Drissa's home?

Am also watching Dead Beautiful thanks to the poster who mentioned it up thread. For anyone who doesn't get the attraction of Thierry Godard watch this and you will GrinGrin

AstrantiaMajpr · 31/01/2018 08:03

How are you watching Dead Beautiful? I could not access it.

Brainwashed · 31/01/2018 11:05

It's on all4...channel 4 on demand channel

AmazingDisgrace · 31/01/2018 11:35

Episode 5 if my recent memory serves well may have Thierry with not many clothes on, twice.

ReelingLush, that woman isn't Bremont's wife. IIRC he is a widower and the woman he was with in the hospital is a rekindled old flame that he got back together with after Laure

ReelingLush18 · 31/01/2018 12:03

Thanks for clarifying that AmazingDisgrace - not seen the previous series so was a bit perplexed that they were all being so civilised.

Bremont seems a very different type to Gilou - chalk and cheese.

Why did Laure's relationship with Bremont end, out of interest?

wowfudge · 31/01/2018 12:06

The problem with putting them in the informant's freezer was that it then looked as though the informant had taken them. He did try to put them back, but the punch bag had been changed and he couldn't.

Whether Drissa knew before or after Bryan(?) the informer was murdered is key.

wowfudge · 31/01/2018 12:08

I think Bremont was a rebound relationship Laure had after Sami died.

Brainwashed · 31/01/2018 12:28

I shall look forward to that amazingdisgrace Wink

AstrantiaMajpr · 31/01/2018 17:16

Thanks for that @Brainwashed

LouiseBrooks · 01/02/2018 13:42

Josephine has taken justice into her own hands recently so she can't be too indignant about the case

Even if she hadn't run that creep over, her behaviour in the early series was hardly what you'd expect from a lawyer so she's being something of a hypocrite all round.

AmazingDisgrace · 01/02/2018 15:20

Brainwashed I'm not sure I got the finer nuances of that episode. It therefore requires a second viewing Grin

AmazingDisgrace · 01/02/2018 15:22

The Guardian episode recaps and comments are always a good read after it has aired

Brainwashed · 01/02/2018 16:45

Amazing disgrace I keep forgetting I don't speak French and need to read the subtitles...too busy gazing into Thierry's eyes Grin

AmazingDisgrace · 01/02/2018 17:23

Same here, I can speak a bit but only a bit and I suddenly realise I have no idea what's going on.

Brainwashed · 01/02/2018 17:39

Great excuse for researching though....

Brainwashed · 01/02/2018 17:39

Rewatching not Researching!
