J'adore this series. All the old faithful's are back in action.

Can't wait. Saturday 30th December. Channel Four.

Elendon that link is unbelievably helpful! I now understand why they utter Putain.

I'm a bit hard of hearing and use subtitles for English language programmes anyway but even then I notice that the subtitles are 'cleaned up' which annoys me!

Tidypidy · 16/01/2018 12:59

J’aime beaucoup Gilou. He reminds me a bit of my DH. J’etais un peu chaude under the collar during the last few minutes of the last episode!

Elendon · 16/01/2018 13:06

Puttanesca has a similar meaning in Italy, in the style of a whore.

wowfudge that was the one word I finally got last weekend! I need to study the swear word list!

AmazingDisgrace · 18/01/2018 15:47

Is anyone watching Dead Beautiful ( Les Dames) on All 4? Its v good and Thierry Godard is the main character Wink

LittleTinyPig · 20/01/2018 21:30

What’s going on with Romy? She was tiny before and now she’s huge!

LouiseBrooks · 20/01/2018 21:51

My thoughts exactly. I'd have expected better from this programme.

But wow, what an opener to this episode!

fussychica · 20/01/2018 23:21

Wow Romy you've grown! Very poor. But rightly you wouldn't be allowed to bath a prem baby just for tv purposes.
Gilou and Laure getting on my nerves. Get a room, dont jeopardise the case.
Wow Tintin that was easy and off duty too, unlike the above!
Thought episode 7 was a real filler, pace needs to pick up but there are still 4 to go so that's not likely. Still good though.a

LouiseBrooks · 20/01/2018 23:34

I'm worried about Roban. And a little bit concerned that Josephine will be found out (no cctv though, than goodness).

Yes Gilou and Laure were getting on my nerves too but I had tears in my eyes when he told her about his childhood. No wonder he's messed up.

Auldspinster · 20/01/2018 23:49

Was I the only person that cheered at Tintin getting a side dish with his pizza?

officerhinrika · 21/01/2018 03:39

Romy is now the biggest prem baby ever. Laure and Gilou should definitely get a room and did anyone notice the boss telling them all to have a wash? At last!
I wonder what Josephine lives on as she only ever seems to have the occasional case, did Pierre (sob) leave her anything?

fussychica · 21/01/2018 09:17

officer in our house she's not called "dirty Laure" for nothingGrin

LooseAtTheSeams · 21/01/2018 13:26

I must admit to laughing out loud at the 'get a shower' comment! Also concerned at Romy's alarmingly fast growth!
Poignant moment when Laure was happy because Roban told her he was fine and then her expression when he went down the stairs.
I'm now following nearly all the swearing without subtitles but still can't follow les flics when they just talk to each other!

ReelingLush18 · 21/01/2018 16:39

Les flics speak almost entirely in argot, don't they?

Loved the 'banter' between Gilou and TinTin last night.

Is it Maria who managed to escape near the end?

wowfudge · 28/01/2018 21:42

Did anybody else see last night's episodes? There were a couple of ridiculous bits, but after all that, what the hell in Gilou going to do now and is Vern still in a coma?

ReelingLush18 · 29/01/2018 07:07

Yes I watched it wowfudge - they're in a bit of a pickle now that Drissa 'has' Gilou. How will Laure explain aborting the mission to the rest of the team?

Glad the mayor has finally woken up and smelled the coffee...

Tintin is getting increasingly frustrated by Laure and Gilou's subterfuge isn't he? Almost as if he's jealous.

BeyondWitchbitchterf · 29/01/2018 09:32

This is the first series I watched, gonna go back when it finishes and find the others. Can't believe I only just found this thread now Grin

AstrantiaMajpr · 29/01/2018 11:11

I was constantly shouting at the tv about them using the same cars. They did listen and asked for extra cars. Last night they were following them and were spotted. Seems very inept in an otherwise sharp series.

wowfudge · 29/01/2018 11:31

The making themselves so obvious to Jolers and the parking up by burning cars and walking through rioting to get to the police station were the two bits I thought were unlikely!

If Laure and Gilou want to keep their relationship private then surely they wouldn't cuddle in reception as they leave together? If I did that at work it would be a surefire way of making sure everyone in the building knew in about five minutes flat!

ReelingLush18 · 29/01/2018 11:59

Yes re the tailing in the same car- did also wonder why they weren't at least vaguely disguised, particularly as Drissa and Bakery and the two bent cops had both had plenty of direct contact with those members of the CID team.

And yes, they would have been lynched walking through that rioting mob of youths - again as they had been snooping around in the neighbourhood on more than one occasion.

Brainwashed · 29/01/2018 13:02

Only just discovered spiral and am hooked. Have series 1-4 on dvd ready to go when this season has finished. Love love love Gilou but how is he going to get out of this mess?

ReelingLush18 · 29/01/2018 13:06

Just when it was beginning to look as if he and Laure would be playing happy ever after with baby Romy...

froufroufoxes · 29/01/2018 14:18

What do we think about Roban LYING UNDER OATH?!
Now he's got the brain tumour diagnosis do you think he's just going to slash and burn?
This was a big turning point for him.

Popchyk · 29/01/2018 14:42

Yes, Roban has always prided himself on his integrity. This will hit him hard. I wonder if he'll turn to Marianne again for support.

I am liking Tintin's rise and rise. Hard working and quick thinking, he's saved the day a few times recently. Can see him taking over the department if he carries on like this (and Laure carries on trying to cover for Gilou).

But yes, I like dramas where there are a number of well-drawn characters all interacting. Lots of police dramas have one main character with a couple of one-dimensional sidekicks alongside and I don't find them that interesting. This is so much better.

ReelingLush18 · 29/01/2018 14:49

Roban's brain tumour certainly looks as if it's affecting his thought processes...is he going over to the dark side? Even the removal of half of the papers out of the files handed over to Drissa's barrister seemed unconventional???

Loving Tintin. Although Gilou isn't my type at all I can see that he has a certain something - he's the polar opposite of Romy's father though, isn't he? What's the back story with Laure there - his wife seemed very accepting if they had an affair?
