I read somewhere that Audrey Fleurot ( Josephine) had Philip Duclos (Roban) as her secondary school drama teacher.

mercurymaze · 14/01/2018 15:19

I really like this but came to it late can I watch the first 5 series online does anyone know ?

Lisette40 · 14/01/2018 15:20

Yeah, there is a real stress issue going on with the team's current boss. You could very well be right.

dungareepress · 14/01/2018 17:09

I'm truly HmmConfusedShockat Gilou as a heart throb

dungareepress · 14/01/2018 17:13

I'm glad this series is a bit less violent, it was just unrelenting aggression in the last series... quite exhausting to watch.
I feel very sorry for Tintin. I think he needs a hug.
And Machard - what a swine!

LouiseBrooks · 14/01/2018 18:39

Mercury it's on Amazon, pay per episode.

dottyaboutstripes · 14/01/2018 18:44

Josephine's going to be pregnant, right?

ReelingLush18 · 15/01/2018 08:24

Josephine's going to be pregnant, right? I thought the same thing.

Still not sure where the main plot is going though - still six episodes left? Baby farming?

Les flics didn't 'clock' the significance of the new build (where the corrupt cops took the young Roma girls) did they?

Not sure that their current boss is involved but we are seeing different types of policing come together with a gradual thawing of attitude? Did love it when he got locked in the outdoor privvy and then got his foot/leg stuck down the loo.

Couldn't quite believe that although they were legally on the site, the Roma community was living in such abject squalor. How could that be right?

Hoping Roban will get his own back on that pompous boss.

It would certainly seem that the mayor is in the thrall of the community which she serves although she doesn't seem 'one of them'

I don't find Gilou physically attractive (think Tintin is more so - a bit like Harrison Ford?) but I did love his tenderness with Laure in the last episode particularly when he drove her to the hospital to be with baby Romy.

LooseAtTheSeams · 15/01/2018 11:19

Tintin has always been my favourite of les flics - poor Tintin! Can't see him being too thrilled if he finds out about Gilou and Laure!
I agree Josephine's revenge will be epic and entirely outside the law.
I hope Roban realises he needs Marianne pretty soon - I was so disappointed he didn't phone her.
I think as far as corruption goes our friends are going to end up wondering who not to arrest!

wowfudge · 15/01/2018 11:27

I've got the series 1-4 DVD box set as I was late to the party. No idea if that works out cheaper than pay per view with Amazon.

I always think Gilou looks as though he whiffs a bit - and not in a good way! He's very Gallic.

The storylines are all about parenting in this series. I think Josephine may be pregnant - not sure how far along we are since Pierre died and whether it could be his baby?

The acting is excellent and the writing is brilliant. Every character - apart from the ones you don't see outside their work function - is so well drawn.

Elendon · 15/01/2018 13:50

I want to hug Tintin too.

Josephine being pregnant would not be good given the amount of booze she put away - understandable - but it may connect her back to Laure. Really heartbreaking regarding her drunk sentiments on Pierre.

Gilou is a bit of rough who is probably good in the sack.

Thanks for the Guardian link Louise

I've no idea regarding the ongoing case and the thoughts here are fascinating.

Why did Josephine steal the car keys? I really want to know how this pans out. not evil at all

I like Tintin too. But he really mucked up balancing family and work. I can understand why his wife had enough. It must be such a hard job, CID.

Elendon · 15/01/2018 14:09

I agree Lisette I can't imagine letting your child go to a sleep over and not having some connection to the person who has your son overnight.

I saw the first few episodes of this series on iPlayer. Absolutely brilliant though nobody said zut alors!

Lisette40 · 15/01/2018 14:47

My limited french is becoming for interesting! There must be such a difference between the French of the lawyers and Les flics. I pick up bits and pieces.

Lisette40 · 15/01/2018 14:48

More interesting not for interesting.

Elendon · 15/01/2018 17:57

I'm finding as the series goes on I can actually look away and understand what they are saying!

My franglais is helping!

This might be unpopular. I am having a problem with Laure and her reluctance to be with the baby. I know this would hold up the dramatic plot but I really find it so callous. It is obviously a defense mechanism but to have the space for a new lover whilst your baby is so fragile made me wince and harden a bit towards Laure.

wowfudge · 15/01/2018 21:24

She's always struggled to maintain relationships. She has a fear of commitment and being hurt. She's not callous, she just doesn't want to get too attached to Romy then have to cope with losing her. Also she never really accepted she was pregnant until she started hemorrhaging and had the baby early.

wowfudge · 15/01/2018 21:25

Also Gilou is about the only bloke she's connected with who has accepted her as she is.

Lisette40 · 15/01/2018 22:39

She really liked Sami too and of course lost him. Is Sami the baby's father? Or is it Bremont?

wowfudge · 15/01/2018 23:15

Argh - I can't remember. Things were going well with Sami, weren't they? Maybe she should stop dating police officers though..

LooseAtTheSeams · 16/01/2018 08:35

I think as far as Laure is concerned her decisions about her personal life are always very confused - it's possible she's attracted to Gilou because he doesn't judge her. I don't think he'd dare!
Tintin's wife is understandably furious with him but I still feel sorry for him - the actor is just too good.
I can barely pick out anything les flics say (much too fast for me) but Roban does speak beautifully clearly!

wowfudge · 16/01/2018 09:49

Les flics say 'putain' and phrases starting with 'putain' a lot. It's pretty much all you need to know. It is translated in myriad creative ways. I don't remember learning that at school, even at A Level!

Elendon · 16/01/2018 11:53

Obviously we all knew merde! and zut alors!
