Well episode 1 hasn't disappointed

That was fantastic! I worried series 4 mightn’t live up to the standard set by 1,2 and 3 A’s often happens with shows but episode one was perfect. I reckon John is dead, Michael is injured (I love Michael!) and Esme will be on the warpath now. She’ll go straight to Tommy and plan her revenge.

But the big question is, when do we get to see Alfie??? 😍😍😍

BatteredBreadedOrSouthernFried I was worried about series 4 not living up to things too I know someone who has a big part in the production of this series and are hoping for a big break from it so I was just hoping it would be as good if not better then what's gone before, so breathed a sigh of relief last night (after the shock of John and Michael getting shot )

I'd have preferred Michael to have died, I liked the light heartenedness and humour of johns character.

Does anyone know what the song is that was used in the opening scene? Have tried to Shazam it but there’s no result.

I know he’s not a particularly likeable character, but John is certainly good value for money! With his spaniels and tweed on last night, and coming into Esme decorated like an xmas tree with those guns

My favourite bit of him was, in the first series I think, when tommy asks him to keep Arthur chilled out, stop him being a loose cannon in a fight or something. John introduces him to cocaine

Ok so I'm a bit confused.

In the trailer for season 4 there's a scene where John and Michael are seen coming out of a flat. That scene wasn't in this episode. So how can they come out of the flat if they've been killed?

I find it hard to believe that Michael is alive, surely they would make sure they had killed him.

Wasn't it John who set the whole chain of events in motion? Iirc he was sleeping with Lizzie and was jealous that she was also seeing Angel Changretta and the whole Shelby family were anxious that she would bring Angel to Tommy's wedding. Angels's dad complained and John attacked and killed Angel. Retribution ensued. Think that's right anyway.

Dulra, I know someone who was v much involved too - looks like they did a great job so hopefully it will stand to them. Was a great episode - I never really watched it before even though DH did but kinda have to go back and watch them properly now.

You know when a show is so good you want to watch it all again but you know what happens now so you don’t get the same feelings of awesomeness from it. I want that feeling back. can’t believe I have to wait a whole week for episode 2!

Emsmum: no I think that song was on the trailer for Season 4. I’m talking about the song used when Polly, Arthur, John and Michael are being taken to the gallows.

I don’t think Michael will be dead. You don’t actually see him get hit with bullets like you do John. I think Michael is needed to get Polly back to her old self.

Yes I did when tommy said that they had an army of soldiers to protect them within a 4 mile radius of the garrison. What, those people who you dragged into your gang wars, had their pub and streets blown up, their husbands and brothers slaughtered and then sauntered off to your large country houses and havent spoken to them or your own siblings in at least a year? Yeah, they'll be queuing up to protect you against the italian mafia!
