Someone on the fox page on fb suggests that the end of the series will be Carl recounting his memories of the apocalypse to future generations where the virus has been eradicated or people have become immune to it. So it would of all been Carl’s memories Shock

So nobody spotted the Easter eggs for the 100th episode then?

Easter eggs, Gamer? Do tell

And we were briefly introduced to a new main character. The different timelines that were shown in last nights episode will make sense later on apparently.

Maggies still in the second trimester so no bump. She won’t be having her baby in season 8.

Come on surely someone spotted at least one Easter egg? Some of them were obvious Grin

I miss the earlier series-the farm, the prison where they were fighting for survival without all this nonsense. Just get a good story line and stick to it.

Absolutely, I loved the farm.* They were fighting the walkers not psychotic bullies.*

Im not sure what an easter egg is? I've recorded so I may rewatch it tonight. I was a bit confused last night!

Yep Gamer , there were lots. Rick's wake up and flowers beside bed - same as S1E1 hospital scene, for example.

gamerchick · 24/10/2017 11:40

Yes and Carl looking for fuel the same way his dad did.

I really liked the tribute to George Romero as well ❤️

Rick's group breaking down the fence at the Savior's compound so it could be swarmed with walkers, is similar to what the Governor did to the prison.

The last arial shot of the trailer (?) where Gabriel and Negan were being surrounded by walkers was similar to the Rick in a tank shot at the end of the first episode.

Rick waking up with a vase of flowers beside the bed was very similar to him waking up in hospital at the start of the first episode.

I'm not sure what Rick's plan was. If they had shot Negan and Simon the whole thing would have been over.

I haven't watched it yet but I do hope the writers don't disappear up their own creative arses. I enjoy a bit of symbolism as much as the next person (Remember the tragic last couple of series of LOST) but TWD should stick to doing what it does best.

Zachary yes that all makes sense.* Glad this thread exists to help thickos* like me others break the storyline down Grin

The zombies don't even seem a threat to them anymore. I suppose the show's got to evolve but I do miss those episodes.

Sorry if this is stating the obvious but the comic books are told through Rick's eyes,it's his story so I can't see them bumping him off.

I had to go back and watch the very first episode. It’s all there Grin

It’s not going to go back to just fighting zombies and surviving. The whisperers are next and by all accounts they’re worse.

The even brought the bairn back rick killed at the start so he could kill her again as a different zombie at the same place.

I know few people will care about those little things though probably, just bring more zombies 😂

Rick wants Negan to know he is the one killing him, not just doing it from behind a wall.

I dont think Negan will kill Gabriel right away, he has too much to say for himselfSmile he will like the captive audience.

I would guess that as 'Rick' already has grey hair going greyer in a few years isnt much of a stretch, expecially with the life he has led in TWD. Michone had grey hair too just not so much, it happens.
I think its a reminder of what they are fighting for, just being able to live without constantly fighting agains other humans.

The owl is a nod to previous episode when Jessie made the metal owl and Rick knocked it over and the people they have lost. I hope its not a portent!
As was Carl walking through the cars on his own like his dad did in the first episode looking for gas.
And the flowers a nod to the two girls and Tyreese

I liked it. I liked the cars, the planning, the inginuity, using a herd like they did before but in a different way, the humour but not the end with the grenade! Just once couldnt they have everything go their way?

I think Rick is tired of leading, he just wants a life with his family and to be a husband and dad again. Maggie is quite capable of leading them all with Ezekiel and Carl and the rest.

Wonder what part the guy Carl left the food for will play?

I REALLY want to see that Jadis get her comeupance!

I love Negan.

Eugene is doing what he always does. Being what is necessary to be to survive. He wants to live and will do anything it takes to do so. He feels safe with Negan, no more fighting, no more walkers to worry about, no more people to fear, no more fear is his top priority, he admits he is a coward and is ok with that as long as he survives. He may come to regret it, I hope so.

I hope Gregory comes back to Hilltop and gets strung up over the gate! He is such a wheasel.

Not that I am invested in this or anything, not like I have watched it a million times in 8 years, oh no no.

I meant the bit where carol looks at the flower on the wall of the bridge re the girls. It could also be reminding her of her daughter? Daryl brought her a flower when he went looking for her.

I loved all the Easter eggs!
Did anyone else spot the cameo made by the actress Addy Miller?
She played the first ever walker on the first episode, the little girl in her dressing gown with the teddy bear.
As soon as we saw her we guessed it was her.
I thought it was great she was in the 100th episode.
I don't think the premier lived up to the hype but I still enjoyed it.
Season 8 will be the most action packed of all the seasons so far,the premier was just setting the pace and story telling for the rest of the season.
Sometimes I wish I'd not read the comics as I don't get any surprises by the show.
I won't post spoilers here though.
