Wow I really enjoyed it. Is the older big bearded Rick an actual future or an imagined future?

I really want Gabriel to survive, he’s come so far.

Where are they getting all the bullets from to waste them shooting windows and cars?

The bullets thing drove me mad as well. Rick will fire three bullets into the air above a strangers head, but won’t use one on a walker, and they all happily shot up windows and cars but not Neegan.

I liked it. Good to see the gang in fighting mode. Yes to Maggie’s bump and rick not just shooting negan as soon as he stepped outside.

Lost TWD in the divorce

I just watched - so the speech at the end meant all of it was just Rick imaging how it might go down - is that right?!

But got the dog that just pawed the laptop and posted that before I was ready
So, as I was saying, lost TWD ie VM package so haven't seen S7 yet. Got Amazon Prime and back to the beginning and am loving revisting it all from the start. Such a fab series.

I used to love this show but it’s gotten so crap since Negan came into it. He’s such a 2d character unlike the governor or Gareth and the cannibals. They’ve had so many chances to shoot him but allowed him to yap away instead every time. Where’s Maggie’s bump? Why are they wasting so many bullets? I don’t think old man Rick is a flash forward. I think he’s dead. Michonne said to Carl “it’s your show now”. I think they’re setting up Rick being killed. I think the scene showing him crying and asking for Mercy is what happens before he’s killed. Just guesses but had to post on here because I hate seeing spoilers on Facebook and I’m home alone tonight. Phew, got it off my chest. Ha ha. X

Dispatch, I think they put the speech at the end so you’ll think they’re doing flashbacks and old man rick flash forwards, except there not flash forwards, they’re what the dead person would imagine heaven to be like. E. G. When you saw glen after he died eating at a long table with them all and his unborn child.

Whose are the two graves that Rick was shown grieving over? Glenn and Abraham’s? Or two other people close to Rick that we don’t know have died yet?

It seemed that we were switching between the past - saying goodbye to Carl and Michon, pre battle pep talks to the troops from Rick and Ezequiel, taking out the Lookouts etc.

The present - Taking the battle to the Saviours in their armoured cars.
(Agreed that it was ridiculous that Negan and Simon were stood defenceless on the platform and no one shot them, think we’ve gone beyond Queensberry Rules here guys! Also ridiculous over use of firepower from the ‘goodies’, given that Eugene was prized for his ability to make bullets I don’t think that ammunition is in endless supply)

The Future - post battle, Rick looking distraught and grieving over two graves.

Dream Future - Old Rick, obviously with a historical injury to his leg (maybe he’s about to get shot in the leg in the battle?) and now needing a walking stick, playing happy families. Was the owl a Trojan horse and the dream becomes a nightmare? Looked like the white haired man tending the garden in the ‘owl’ scene might have been a two legged Hershel.

Hopefully all will become clear next week!

I’m confused - just read a recap which says his speech at the end was just a continuation of the speech at the beginning but I thought it meant the whole fight thing hadn’t happened as Gabe was there! It’s been a long day but that just wasn’t clear to me!

Agree they could have just killed Negan with no chat! And yes Gabe is stuck in there with him and pretty much dead anyway so should have just shot at him. The “wearing your shitting pants” line was just cringe - hate Negan!

Thanks guys - my head hurts ! I got the flash forward old man Rick but the rest was vague! Yep agree the scenes with Rick’s eyes looking like he’s wearing red eyeliner are him dying.

The two graves were Glenn and Abraham Des. Rick thinking about how it turned out last time he challenged Negan.

Can’t believe Ricks going to die though, unless Andrew Lincoln has said he wants to leave the series.

Gabrielle repeatedly saying ‘it’s not about you’. Makes me think they’ll kill Rick to try and freshen up the show. Maggie’s turning into a leader too so they’re not so focused on Rick. I could be wrong, just my opinion.

Loving this thread! Everything DH and I talked about while watching last night being discussed.

I thought the old man Rick had to be an imagined future of some sort - he looks ancient yet Judith was still a young girl and Michonne was exactly the same.
Although I'd love there to be a TWD spin-off set 20-30 years in the future; I'd love to see Judith as a grown woman whose been brought up entirely in this apocalyptic world and is trying to rebuild a society now. Along with Maggie & Glenn's baby.

Stupid that they would waste that many bullets and not shoot Negan. I really hate his character (and not in the way you're meant to), he's just a 2d pantomime villain - never mind how big his dick is; Rick et al have hundreds of guns and thousands of bullets yet Negan has killed more of them with a stick.

I even have a zombie baby too, although he's 18months - I kept making DH pause the TV because I thought I could hear DS stirring on the baby monitor only for it to be a walker grunting in the background.

How can Rick be old but Judith only about 7?

I think they tried to be too clever with the flashbacks etc and it's just hasn't worked

I found it really frustrating. I know Negan is needed for the story line,they can't just shoot him in episode 1 but don't then set up a situation where he's right there in front of them,un armed. After everything he's done it just didn't make sense that they wouldn't quit the jibber jabber and kill him on the spot.

And yes to the ammo. They were desperate for ammo in earlier seasons,whole episodes were based on them getting hold of it and now they're wasting it without a second thought. We on earth were they shouting all the windows?!

I don't think all these flash forwards and backwards and speeches either. I miss the earlier series-the farm,the prison where they were fighting for survival without all this nonsense. Just get a good story line and stick to it.

Also Daryl,I love a bit of Daryl but him on the bike-setting of the fire with the explosions in the background and him speeding away with the wind in his great hair was just pure cheese.

I still love it though!
