It was so frustrating that Rick could have just shot Negan.
Scott Gimple said that the logic behind that is Rick doesn't actually want to kill any more people.He wants Negan dead but only Negan.If he'd shot Negan at that moment there would have been huge losses on both sides.
Plus if he'd shot him we won't have the All out war.

I do not think he could shoot Negan as they are all Negan, if Negan dies the group will not know the new leader or predict what the new leader will do. The plan seem to be to destroy the saviours power killing Negan will not do that. Or I am just too invested. The flowers I hated as I hated Carol killing the girl whilst looking at the flowers.

Rick couldnt kill him right off, there would have been a bloodbath. He gave them the option to prevent that. They didn't take it.

So fucking irritating. I just want consecutive events where I know what the fuck is going on all the time.

I didn’t really like the last season either, once they killed Glen a part of the show died for me - would happily have traded Karl or Rick for Glen.

And there’s not enough Darryl. They just need to bring back naked Darryl, perhaps covered in maple syrup rather than the dirt of the dungeon.

Then I’d be happy.

I couldn’t resist reading a few comments from this thread before I got to sit down and watch it on now tv tonight when kids in bed. Was disappointed to see the negativity about this episode but I was actually pleasantly surprised when I finally watched it, I enjoyed it! It wasn’t as dramatic as the opening from the last series (or traumatic!) but I loved seeing the gang back kicking some ass and I love seeing them all working together on a plan and seeing how it all unfolds.
Yes it was a bit annoying how they didn’t just kill Negan but I think that would have ended in a bloodbath there and then, I think Rick wants Negan to see his kingdom fall apart around him first and feel real pain like he has, not just have a sudden death. Maybe all the excessive shooting was to just show them how prepared they are and that they mean business. A taste of what’s to come perhaps.
I wonder what will happen to Father Gabe? Excited for next week!
No idea what’s going on with all the flashbacks.

Agree Rick should have just shot him. It’s so annoying. Eugene said that on Talking Dead too lol.

Still hoping the Don’t kill Jerry but he may be fodder although I think he would have a memorable death even if part of a battle. It would probably contain a good one liner.

I quite liked it though agree some bits were annoying (flash forwards, wasting bullets, etc).

One thing I think we all need to take away from this episode though is the phrase "shitting pants". Me and DH have already taken to regularly asking each other if we've got our shitting pants on. The answer should always be the affirmative.

DP thinks Nick from FTWD is going to be in the Whisperers group as he likes to cover himself in walker guts, so might upgrade to their skins. That'd be an interesting crossover if the Whisperers are meant to be baddies. (Not read that far into the comics)
