Oh and I've also been half wondering if Morgan had schizophrenia pre outbreak. He would strongly benefit from some antipsychotic medication.

I didn't watch s3 of ftwd as s2 was so hard-going. So I tried to rewatch them recently ready to watch it, and still couldn't stick at s2. Might just give up and start from s3 if it gets better then Grin

Dwights girlfriend was the only person I could think it would be that negan picked up. I had a thought about fuel too... I'm sure I read that it goes off if it's just left in a car (or helicopter) for years unused? Hmm, will google...

While I haven't really been on ricks "side" for ages now, the last two weeks have convinced me that he is the actual villain of the show. He is a dick.

So could I just start watching at season 3 then? No desire to watch two poor seasons to get to a story! (And I assume half of the original ones will be dead by then anyway).

I found season 1 FtWD ok, but a bit disappointing as thought it would be more about what caused the outbreak/ have more theories and science stuff and a slower build up. I really quite liked season 3 but it started to piss me off towards the end - I think this was because they were wrapping things up for changes in direction in season 4 - apparently Gimple is taking over.

Season 1 of FTWD is just a bunch of twats running around but back story, ends on an interesting point. Season 2 is a bit better although most are still twats. Season 3 the plot heavily outweighs anything else so you forget that they are twats and enjoy it more.

They cover different scenarios and explore more places you might have explored if there were an apocalypse. There’s much more interesting things that come in the 3rd series with how the world works (which all seems much more advanced than TWD in a short space of time).

IMO after series 1 they start to get savvy much quicker than in TWD. But in TWD you like the characters more.

So I've watched 3 episodes of FTWD...Confused

Should I bother with the rest of it. It's pretty bad so far. As a fan of TWD I thought I'd watch this as something to watch before TWD season 9 and also to see how the crossover will work. I've read mixed reviews on FTWD but I'm undecided 🤷🏼‍♀️. What do you think?

They never show them struggling for fuel for the cars either do they?

I'm bored of all this angst and soul searching now. Michone and Rick are particularly irritating. Even Neagus is at it now. I'm bored

Loved this weeks episode.

I can’t help but think we’re x years on. For a helicopter to be taking regular search flights would take a lot of fuel. Not sure how worth while it would be particularly covering the same ground.

Loved this episode.
All the references to earlier episodes, Carol and Morgan, carol & Ezekiel, Rick and Michone even Jadus & Negan when he actually showed he was a hunan being once but not happy about Rick going back on his word. I suppose that was the catalyst to read Carls letter.

I hope its not Laura i want Dwight to ride off into the sunset to find Sherry.

Rick saw the helicopter earlier on. Maybe Jadis was part of another group but got seperated/left behind and had to make a place for herself in dumpster with remaining group/ other people?
Am dying to know but i am sure they will make us wait till next season😠

I think Gregory the scumbag is more likely than Sherry as he wasn't with the saviours and didn't stay in the hilltop.

Could the bullets Gabriel is helping with be rigged somehow?

Really interested to find out what the dump is hiding - I thought it was just a dump - but Jadis' little crashpad didn't seem the type of thing that would usually be at a dump so who knows.

Maybe that community is where those jeep-women were from, the weirdos who wanted music from Hilltop.

I definitely reckon it's a base. Somehow she's been communicating with someone (the helicopter people? part of a larger, better-equipped community?) and had conveyed a time and coordinates. They came, apparently saw nothing and left.

That's where my money is.

My first thought that it was Sherry getting in the car. I’m not sure Negan would have any use for Gregory. Laura is a good shout.

Hmmmmmmm why didn’t jadis just kill negan

There are always chances to kill him but people don’t 🙄🙄🙄

Wonder where the helicopter is from

I reckon the dump must just be the nearest to the Helicopter people and she sees it regularly.

The others are further away than they fly?

Report
Mammabear31 · 03/04/2018 11:17

I thought perhaps Jadis saw the helicopter on a regular basis, and therefore got the trash crew to build or create a Helipad to signal there are people there to be rescued?

The other thread suggested the person Negan picked up was Gregory. Totally plausible as he always looks like shit! Grin

Ikeameatballs · 03/04/2018 09:34

Yes, I want to know who's in the helicopter but I'm not convinced that the dump is a military base, if it was then why would Jadis have needed to get their attention with a flare? It looked to me that she knew when they would be coming, she kept looking at her watch. Why hasn't the helicopter been seen over any of the other bases? Negan looked genuinely surprised to see it but none of the camps are surely that far from each other?

Report
OohMavis · 03/04/2018 08:33

I think the dump must be some sort of military base. Those containers, Jadis' home, are military quarters. The Saviours said something about knowing about 'what this place is' before they killed them. Solar panels, helipad... And now a helicopter?

I really want to know who it is in that helicopter. This was the first decent episode of season 8! I'm actually looking forward to next week's.

I think the person Negan picked up must be Laura who knows about Dwight's betrayal.

Thought the bit with Jadis and Negan was stupid and contrived. I said to dp "he can get his arms out of there" then the next thing he's managed to get hold of a gun and a flare. And did he just walk out and hop into a waiting car?

Poor Morgan though I'm surprised that more of them aren't completely messed up from a mental health POV.

Fear the walking dead series 3 is on amazon now - just binge watched 3 episodes and so far a lot less boring than some of the recent walking dead episodes. I know what you mean though minor there is something missing. Maybe that's the reason for a crossover.

Just watched the most recent episode of twd and it was pretty good. The poison bullet things sucked but actually if it would work it makes sense that people would try it - even if it was depressing to watch. I hope they realise whyTara isn't sick soon.

I prefer FTWD as the characters aren’t based on cartoon people and have a bit more complexity to them. On the whole. But this week’s TWD was good.
