DS is 3. I’m so glad I don’t have to worry about it for awhile but I’m fairly sure I was around 8 when we watch The Running Man at someone’s house. Family party and all the kids upstairs. But that’s very different to a weekly thing too. And I was a wuss. They were all playing that “scary” vhs board game, was it called the gatekeeper? And I was just trying to block out the whole thing.

MiddleClassProblem · 24/03/2018 15:23

It was called Nightmare from the Atmosfear series. I think there was a witch one too where she turned into a pig.

Sorry for the derail!

So... it was fun having car chase but shame they didn’t invest in the crash effects.

Mammabear31 · 24/03/2018 19:17

DH & I are re-watching Mondays episode. I'm convinced there is some meaning behind the last cigarette Dwight had in his packet (and then used to ignite Neegans car) but it's not coming to me. Any thoughts?

glowfrog · 24/03/2018 19:43

I think the packet was left to him from his wife after she let Daryl out and left the Sanctuary, alongside a pack of beer I think - it was some kind of private joke/memory so it definitely had huge sentimental value.

yumyumpoppycat · 24/03/2018 22:16

I think he keeps a note or something from Cheryl in the packet?

yumyumpoppycat · 24/03/2018 22:16

Or is her name cherry?

MiddleClassProblem · 24/03/2018 22:26

Whoosh, that went right over my head but from a little googling to the ep when Sherry freed Daryl/left apparently he grabbed a packet of cigarettes (it says from a fish in the wall?) and one had lipstick on. Is it possible that one was the one with lipstick on?

glowfrog · 25/03/2018 08:46

Aah that may well be it.

Mammabear31 · 25/03/2018 17:07

I tried to Google but didn't find much, must try harder next time Grin thanks for that I knew TWD gurus would know!

shinook123 · 25/03/2018 21:40

Glowfrog
The vatos gang that helped the nursing home in season 1 were killed by the Governor.
They filmed a backstory but never aired it.

glowfrog · 26/03/2018 00:41

Nooooooooooo!!

How did the Governor get anywhere near them?!

TheDrsDocMartens · 26/03/2018 07:12

I don’t remember that gang.

I’m glad you mentioned Georgie in last weeks episode as I was convinced it was one of my crap dreams.
Although I’d rather the episode had been more exciting than my crap dreams ...

Mammabear31 · 26/03/2018 21:57

Well that was a waste of an hour.

OohMavis · 26/03/2018 23:13

Utter misery. I'm so bored of them being murdered, outsmarted and outgunned every single episode. It's just not good storytelling Sad

EachandEveryone · 27/03/2018 01:11

I was just about to watch it. Was it thar bad?

StripySocksAndDocs · 27/03/2018 03:44

It's not that bad ,EachandEveryone. Just a little too similar outcome.

I've been hugely wavering with tWD recently. Opting to mostly read whilst DH watches - I actually watched a reasonable bit of this episode.

Ikeameatballs · 27/03/2018 07:46

I thought it was ok but didn't move the story on at all.

MiddleClassProblem · 27/03/2018 16:07

They’ve lost so much connection between the characters. Glenn and Maggie’s relationship was well built, friendships like Carol and Daryl had the audience rooting for them but there’s been none of that since Abe and Star Trek (mind blank). They need to show a bit of that too otherwise you lose the depth of the characters. Anytime they’ve done slow episodes they’ve been boring rather than character building. They’ve all gone 2D. Morgan seeing things is annoying, the dark, non lighting is frustrating, the sounds is crap, blink and you’ll miss him Jesus.

I’m annoyed we might lose Tara and she and Jerry are the only two who get lighter lines to break up the darkness.

glowfrog · 27/03/2018 19:05

@MiddleClassProblem

Abe and Sasha!

What I'm really annoyed about is the flip-flopping about Dwight. Now Tara is ok with him but Daryl isn't?! And he had his chance to kill Simon, he really should have taken it.

Also, it's good she remembered about her own past re: Governor.

Tara, alas, is not going to get infected as Dwight hasn't poisoned his arrows.

Bloody Henry. Hope he becomes zombie mince. Idiot.

Also, I'm hardly Napoleon but it seems somewhat idiotic to approach a building REALLY REALLY slowly. That's the sure way to get shot up. Why didn't they just rush to the walls? I suppose they could have been shot through them as well, but...

I'd have brought something to set the house on fire myself as well. But then I guess they didn't set out to destroy the place.

BeyondDeadlySiren · 27/03/2018 19:14

I got really behind in this half of the season, but have finally caught up.

Speaking of Dwight's cigarette, no way does a smoker - in the apocalypse no less - have two drags of his last fag and then throw it away dramatically Grin

MiddleClassProblem · 27/03/2018 19:15

At least you’d use the cars for cover just in case.

I missed who got Tara. I think I was still trying to figure out who the guy was that Carol cared about but obviously that became apparent. I assumed he was already dead.

Bloody, Henry. He’s taken over from Carl’s season 1-3 annoying ways. I think a competent, killing machine child is far more interesting than another one that keeps cocking up. It also makes me want to watch Hanna.

I was watching on my iPad and had the brightness up to max but all the zombie house business was so dark it wasn’t worth attempting to focus on it.

DontOpenDeadInside · 27/03/2018 21:03

I totally missed who shot Tara, had to Google (darkness + action = me not been able to focus) guessing Dwight did that to save her.

"New Carl" is not very bright. Does he not realise you can shoot through a wire fence?!
And all the noise the walkers made -I mean one fell down the fricking stairs- yet no-one woke up?
Approaching the house like a group of slow Pink Panthers is just asking to be shot up.
I know a zombie apocalypse is pretty far fetched, but it's just getting silly now.

glowfrog · 27/03/2018 21:56

Yes, you'd think the zombie apocalypse would make you a light sleeper at the very least.

glowfrog · 27/03/2018 21:59

Also, why was no one on guard duty around the house?!

DispatchReady · 27/03/2018 23:21

I only know what's going on cos I listen to a podcast which breaks it all down!

Yes Dwight shot Tara with his bow to prevent Simon from outright killing her so he has saved her as he didn't have anything on his arrows. But from Daryl's point of view he just saw Dwight shoot at her so would think he had changed sides again.

Bad continuity: carol said Tobin turned but wasn't bit. Everyone who dies turns don't they, so if he'd had a worse infection than they thought and died in the night, for example, he'd turn anyway. Just felt like a convenient way for them all to realise what the Saviours had done and a way to change what the writers have always said about The virus to suit this silly storyline!

And yes...very light sleepers, silly tactics from the saviours, Dwight not killing Simon...It's getting really daft now!
