I think if they don’t kill him off now, people will be pissed off with the misinformation and foolish game playing with the fans.

Either way, it’s a bit crap.

They can't win really. Kill him off and people are annoyed, or don't and people are annoyed.

You'd think they would have learnt something from how well the Lucille cliffhanger was received...!

Oh i would much rather it was all connected like Pemba said. That would really be a twist if it continues on to another story arc. I could live with that to keep Carl.

They've killed off incredibly strong characters especially abe who brought a lot to the show imo. Other strong characters have been split up and given nothing to work with - Maggie left with Jesus who is such a flat character

I think if the disease can be stopped by cutting off limbs it must be possible to cut it out of flesh too, ok its his torso but it's just on his side and doesn't look deep. Maybe Pemba is right and the helicopter will airlift him off so he isn't in the next season but then is back in another season or on FTWD.

Kickassname2 I totally agree. I’ve been such a massive TWD fan, and got into FTWD. But this series hasn’t captured me like the others have. And as for killing of Coral if Rick doesn’t loose it after that then I don’t know what..

Maybe Coral's gonna be the Murphy of TWD?

Was Jesus worth waiting for? He’s not exactly done a lot so far.

I’m fairly sure in the comics he killed a load of saviours and burned their bodies. Also Tom Payne is not who I would have envisioned. Jesus is more warrior/ripped than hobo... I was hoping to be crushing. I don’t think you e seen enough of his fighting skills this season, only really with Morgan but that was naff as they were on the same team. When he was first introduced he was more badass.

I just watched the (shit and short) preview for second half of the series, and Carl's tombstone is in it, so think that means he's gone for good. Unless, of course that's to throw us off too. I've been sitting here thinking about how they can possibly do some life saving surgery and stop the infection. How far gone is Maggie? I can't blooming work out the time line at all.

I'm sure she is in the 2nd trimester. Didn't she say something about being allowed to fight in the 2nd?

I can never work out the time lines either. But just try and forget about it (like I do with baby Judith's milk/nappies/clothes/quietness; why Rick didn't just shoot Negan when he sees him etc)

This time the impact was a lot less because there's too many characters.

Everybody's time on screen has been diluted to fit all the gangs in, it was all a bit meh.

Really bored of the Saviours now.

I’ve lived the first six seasons of The Walking Dead, season 7 also good. But boy have I been bored with season 8. Really losing interest in it.

I'm hoping Carl's death is a harbinger of an ending to the series. For me what's kept me watching were tension and conflicts within the group. Now it's all external enemies, although Negan poses very interesting moral questions. But they won't be able to beat him in terms of baddies... Where on earth can they go with the story after he's done??

That said I'm really sad for Rick and I guess only Judith is going to keep him sane. Ish. And as a parent of course, the thought of losing a child like that...

Negan is a fab villain. He’s complex and ruthless and they could have done more with him. They could have done more with all the characters instead of shoving loads of them all in and just showing glimpses of them.
I think Carl did his best acting in that last episode. It seems a shame now as they could’ve done more with him too.

That's exactly how I feel.

Now also with the break we have all this time to "get used" to Carl dying so even less impact.
It wasn't the same last time they did it because we didn't KNOW who would die(unless like me you went on spoiler sites and ruined it for yourself lol)
Maybe the guy Carl brought with him will become his saviour-I dunno have a feeling he will be useful somehow.
