For a TV series about a war during a zombie apocolypse, it's getting pretty boring.

The good points is that they've created a good world for a TV drama, they've built up some good characters and the special effects are great. But their story telling and structuring lets them down.

I think they need to stop following the novels and create their own story lines. The most interesting characters (Daryl and Carol) aren't in the comics. The reason why Negan is tedious is because of the comics.

They also need to replace the writers and directors. Perhaps they could hand it over to the Game of Thrones team for a season and see what they can do with it? Then the Breaking Bad team can have it next season. Couldn't be worse.

yumyumpoppycat · 06/12/2017 00:32

I don't think it was obvious that people had escaped, but I think it was obvious to Rick the plan had gone to shit which is going to make him vulnerable again with Tall Trash lady.

I was listening to some 'youth' on the bus this morning talking about TWD - it was brilliant. Apparently Carol is sic, they didn't like it in series 7 when she was crying and shit but she has come back strong Grin

LittleWingSoul · 06/12/2017 00:36

Tall Trash Lady and her 'fourths'!

I didn't realise the plan had gone to shit as I've watched seven episodes without really understanding what is going on anyway.

I am putting myself through it out of loyalty and in the hopes it will suddenly get better.

Hoping the All Female Seaside Dwellers get involved at some point.

Mustang27 · 06/12/2017 07:02

Oh yeah the lady beach resort. I like them.

Willow2017 · 06/12/2017 11:29

Yeah I think Rick is now very vulnerable as he is alone with the trash lot and his plan has gone to shit. I dont think they will be happy.
(was good to see Jadis up close and personal with her own walker gladiator though)
Although am curious as to how the survived with just 'taking' not 'bothering' if they cannot be arsed to actually go get stuff themselves, there cant have been that many people to steal from for a group that size to survive. And their 'speech' gets on my pip. Only a year (or there abouts) into the new world and they have lost the power of speech?

I am dying to know how the saviours got out and are at Alexandria. What happened to all the snipers?

Liking the Eugene/Dwight stuff. Eugene is cracking up under his determination to survive at the cost of everyone else who has helped him in the past. Like the 'real' Dwight, showing his real character before he was spoiled by Negan. (Yes I know what he did but he explained it well to Eugene) Shame Tara is going to kill him in another time he would be an asset to the group.

Not looking forward to next week, cant beleive its mid season already and dont want a damm cliffhanger! Its not good for the blood pressure. Oh well will have to try FTWD again to see if I can stick with it, I want to see where Morgan fits in.

Thegirlinthefireplace · 06/12/2017 12:10

To be fair it was Rick that said "fourth" before Janis. I remember thinking the ridiculous speech was catching

LiveLifeWithPassion · 06/12/2017 12:57

Maybe their speech is their reaction to trauma? They’re trying to minimise by being minimalistic with words. Yet they hoard junk. A psychiatric could have a field day.

I’m so rubbish at this. I didn’t even realise the plan had gone to plot. I just assumed all the walkers had gone inside the building Blush

Willow2017 · 06/12/2017 13:36

The trash people will get a fourth share in the spoils once the Sanctury is taken. Why is that 'weird' speech? Jadis wanted half, as they have done sod all so far they are lucky to be getting a fourth!

Or am I missing something?

TheDrsDocMartens · 06/12/2017 13:49

Think they mean why not say quarter!

Thegirlinthefireplace · 06/12/2017 14:53

a fourth is a quarter. I have never in my life heard it described as a fourth (maybe it is an American thing?)

MiddleClassProblem · 06/12/2017 15:02

I think maybe they said 4th to illustrate that there would be 4 communities working together as a quarter viewers/Jadis might not understand why it’s that amount.

I can’t help but wonder what it would be like in the UK during a zombie apocalypse. Lot less God and a lot more dogs.

I’m not sure why Eugene was drinking wine so poorly. He was only having normal sips...

LiveLifeWithPassion · 06/12/2017 15:03

I’m sure it’s quite normal to say a fourth instead of a quarter in the US.

MiddleClassProblem · 06/12/2017 15:17

Yeah, you’re probably right. It’s weird though.

Part of me would love for Eugene to have been onboard to help but I can understand why they have him turned as as far as I can remember (not far) we haven’t had a situation where someone has truly switched alligence. I just really wanted to explore him building bullets more. It feels like he may get to do a few in the next ep but actually that might be it. I’m assuming he’s in the chopping block but maybe there’s still a slight chance he can come back and amour up Rick...

I don't think they will kill off Daryl yet, most of the characters have become less likeable so they could practically kill off the whole group on that basis, except maybe Maggie. It was a shame they had to kill Glenn especially the way it happened.

yumyumpoppycat · 07/12/2017 00:22

I think I am ready for Eugene to go now though

yumyumpoppycat · 07/12/2017 00:27

Just googled and it looks like americans do say a fourth www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/5m8zmq/why_do_americans_say_a_fourth_instead_of_a/ Maybe its to prevent confusion with the coin.

Thegirlinthefireplace · 07/12/2017 06:19

Fair enough, I stand corrected on the fourth thing.

yumyumpoppycat · 07/12/2017 07:38

Oh sorry I just got into the whole question and googled because I think a 4th sounds strange too!

Pemba · 07/12/2017 09:47

I suppose their way is actually more logical though, a third, a fourth, a fifth ....

MiddleClassProblem · 07/12/2017 10:36

But they done say a second for half

cushioncovers · 07/12/2017 10:42

I have a confession to make.

I have no idea what's going on and I've stuck with it out of loyalty to Rick and a hatred of Negan. I don't even know if Eugene has betrayed Rick or is being super clever and double crossing Negan.

There I've said it. Grin

cardoon · 07/12/2017 10:58

I'm right behind you cushion Grin

Mustang27 · 07/12/2017 11:20

I'd be sad to see the mullet go in any circumstances he's a great character whatever side he is on.

MiddleClassProblem · 07/12/2017 20:05

I know it’s time for someone to die. Maybe Morgan if not Eugene? Obvs Gabe isn’t looking too good but I don’t care about him enough for it to be a big impact.

Michonne and Carl haven’t been in it enough to be a huge hit to the cheers and soulless just be disappointing that we barely saw them then their gone.

Tara must like up with the beach peeps, Jesus and Edith have moreto give, Daryl and Carol are too popular and it would seal the deal on losing viewers.

Aaron? Dunno think it’s too soon after losing his boyfriend and might see him rebuild a bit although before this season started I thought he was a goner.

Gregory, but nobody cares about him so it will be more for drama than shock.

Who else is there?

NOT JERRY!
