Brian Cox

stonecircle · 10/10/2017 10:12

I'm not being negative or anything, but I don't get why Izzy and her colleague were so awe-struck by HG - not a major celeb is he?

furlinedsheepskinjacket · 10/10/2017 10:14

we love hugh

BoreOfWhabylon · 10/10/2017 11:17

The thing is, here's the thing.

The thing is, Hugh Grant is, like, totally HOLLYWOOD.

We love Hollywood.

YesVeryGoodVeryStrong · 10/10/2017 11:19

stonecircle the fact of the matter is, I think they were impressed that he got a well-known name but also Shock Hmm that Will didn't know who he was. Not that this is my area at all though and you'll know more than me about how you feel about it.

Sophie Raworth was brilliant - she injected such contempt into 'So-called'

stonecircle · 10/10/2017 12:21

I think Anna walking into the glass wall is now my all-time favourite comedy moment. Even surpasses Del Boy's fall at the wine bar.

And her subsequent ramblings - you can take that skirt off .... were superb.

The80sweregreat · 10/10/2017 13:14

She was great going into that door. Anna is slightly mad i think.

Brilliant interview by Ian. Im sure ive actually heard someone from the Beeb say this very speech in the past.

iklboo · 10/10/2017 13:21

I swear Anna is based on one of our bosses. Who has the same name.....

The80sweregreat · 10/10/2017 13:28

I know that none of them have a point, but i am puzzled by Siobhan.
Why is she always in the meetings? Does she show up because she can - why dont they question why she is there? She heads up a production company, would she even need to be there about a swing band axe? I know its a comedy etc and she is funny, but its annoying!

stonecircle · 10/10/2017 14:29

Here's the thing. Right. Siobhan is the PR consultant employed to protect and promote the BBC's image. Hence the relentless commentary on what Twitter is saying. Presumably she was at the meeting to advise on how to rescue the big band situation. I assume ....

The80sweregreat · 10/10/2017 14:39

Cool. Love meetings

Spudlet · 10/10/2017 14:43

Everyone above a certain management level / ambition quota knows that consultants are better, because they're, like, consultants. So they turn up everywhere. Which is why when I was a civil servant people were being advised to get out if they wanted to get ahead, presumably then coming back with lots of experience and wotnot and not leaving and never going back ever like I did.

Exactly. Right. Yes.

iklboo · 10/10/2017 15:11

I did once honestly have a meeting to discuss what we discussed in the meeting the before. With exactly the same people so it's not like we were 'cascading', 'touching base' or 'filling the gaps in the baseboard'.

Elendon · 10/10/2017 15:21

I have to report that I'm totally loving this. Yeah.

I did an interview last week where the person interviewing me said every single thing in response to me as like a script reading from W1A.

I was totally on board with it, like totally.

Reader, I've got the position! Yeah!

BoreOfWhabylon · 10/10/2017 15:54

GEORGE!!!

Elendon · 10/10/2017 16:05

Cool!

CanIBuffalo · 10/10/2017 17:06

Lots Fun, yeah.
